What a lovely hotel. We bought a deal through booking.com and it was true to it's word. The room was lovely and clean, bathroom products were very nice. Breakfast was included and was fresh and delicious. Muffins, Bircher Muesli, Fruits, cereals, toasts etc with an amazing view. Very helpful and friendly staff. I'd definitely stay again.
This hotel has good and bad bits. Some rooms have great views orhers not. The rooms are dated in decor yet large and comfortable. The wifi is free but frustrating. The room we had had an excellent spa bath but the blinds on the front window left gaps and flapped if the window was open. The price was very good so overall i rated it a 3 but if I had paid a higher price it would gave rated lower.
Nice room with a great view. Probably could have done without carrying bags up multiple flights of stairs though. From there there were multiple options for walks along water and beaches and was within a medium walk of town. Staff polite and friendly.
We had the top room (311) with spa, ocean view and balcony. Quite a nice room. Only 2 problems, no lift and weak wifi. Breakfast was acceptable, but as it was only $15 we thought it was quite good value. I wish they wouldn't spray that cheap air freshener around, it is quite off putting. It's well located and the view was great.
What a shambles. I pad extra for a 'river view' room and instead got a shocking corner room overlooking the car park and a tree. It is deceitful to class this room as anything other than what it is. Boutique? No. Views? No. Most disappointing of all was the absolute lack of interest from staff. On check in when I raised this with reception I was met with nothing more than an 'I know' shrug of the shoulders. On check out I was met with hostility, aggression and confrontation - as well as a refusal to reimburse me for the 'river view' surcharge. Totally infuriating and very puzzling. As for the rest of the stay, well the rooms were pretty average. I couldn't / wouldn't walk on the carpet barefoot as there seemed to be more beach sand engrained there than on the beach itself - but the best was the slightly eclectic selection of toiletries... Conditioner, shoe polish, shower cap and sanitary bag?? I don't expect much for just shy of $200 but some hand soap would have been nice. Just so I could wash the sand and dirt of my feet before putting my socks back on. Overall, very poor stay backed up by exceptionally poor customer service and even worse value for money.
Nice location close to a nice, relatively quiet beach and waterfront walk. The room was spacious and clean. We were lucky enough to be upgraded to a waterfront view, and appreciated the difference when sat on the balcony. The WiFi worked ok. We had a minor problem with the after-hours entry not working (or maybe we were just too stupid) - at quieter times (e.g. Sunday evening) the hotel is unstaffed. Overall happy with the stay, and would recommend it as an over-nighter. Port Macquarie is also somewhere you could comfortably spend two nights - for our taste it was nicer than Byron Bay up the road.
Good value for money hotel. Located just next to the waterside, great views. Takes 10 min to walk to the city. Room was decent and clean. There is free wifi that worked quite okay although you had to log in very often.
This is a good value property adjacent to the beach. Rooms are snug but spotless and nicely furnished. Reception staff are pleasant efficient and friendly. Parking on site can be tight but there is ample street parking. Our bathroom had a very decent shower that you could stand under, unlike many country motels!
We just stayed a couple of nights on our way up the east coast. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. Our room had a large window and entry door to the outside open corridor so giving the feeling of a motel layout, although did notice some rooms had a more conventional hotel layout. Breakfast is served in a lovely room overlooking one of the many beaches around. It is a short 10 min walk into a run of cafes and restaurants - but we still took the car one evening because of the storms. We ate at Mikes fish bar and Zebu grill - both good. The main reason for visiting this area are the many beaches - but we picked the wrong days and had a lot of rain. We still managed a little drive around and visited Sea Acres National Park (got soaked on the boardwalk) and the Bago vineyards (30 min drive) but stayed dry 😋. The only issue we had was the wifi connection - this was intermittent and was more a frustration than a real problem. There is a laundry and a little lounge area. The car park gets full and luckily there isn't any restrictions on parking (that I saw) on the road.
This hotel is right at Town Beach. We were allowed to book in a little early which was lovely and appreciated. There is no lift in the hotel so be mindful when booking if have any disabilities or issues. We had an ocean view room which was great. The view was perfect. Ground floor ocean view rooms would get a view of the ocean plus the cars parked in front of the room. The rooms was very clean & had everything you need. Bed was good. The shower was heaven. The free wi-fi was appreciated. Housekeeping Were exceptional. We stayed 2 nights and on the second day we came back to the room to find the bed properly made, bins emptied, items replenished. Continental breakfast was nice and simple simple. ($15) Not much for the gluten-free folks. No hams, sliced meats or cheeses either.I upgraded to a cooked breakfast ($23.50) to get an omelette....don't. It is a 4* hotel after all so it was a little disappointing. So was the lateness of the staff getting breakfast started or ready on time. But the view was beautiful. There is no room service Friday, Saturday & Sunday nights or through the daytime any days. Only Monday to Thursday nights. Again.....4* hotel. You can head into town to retausrants including restaurants at other hotels or menu-log Indian, chicken, Chinese or pizzas. Lots of tourist information in the foyer along with free daily newspaper.
