We booked online on the morning of or stay as i managed to get some time off work. Based on some reviews and pictures online we thought it this place looked pretty good. We booked the spa room. On our way up to port we were contacted by the hotel to inform us that reception closed at 9 and gave us instructions as to how to access our room. After arriving we found that we had to park in the road side car park which didnt overly bother us. Found our room and discovered no spa. Tried to call the 24 hr reception however the phone wasnt working. Called from mobile. We were offered a complementary upgrade to an ocean view room. Still no spa but a much better room. However the shower recess is very small. The hotel is right on the road so there is always going to be noice that no one can control but a harley idling under your window at 3am is a bit much. Plus the group of people having a party across the road in the beach carpark untill 1am was painful to say the least. The breakfast buffet looked very lacking so we decided to give it a miss and just checked out. The girl at reception apologised for the mistake in booking the spa and for the broken phone Overall for the price of $139 it wasnt really worth it. Almost like an up market motel rather than a 4 star hotel.
Excellent location on the coast. Walking distance to at least two excellent restaurants. Rooms have minibars with a checklist of what you consumed. Nice and quiet. Only draw back is that there is no bathroom counter to place your toiletries on.
Stopped overnight without a booking and were welcomed with friendly service. The room was comfortable and view amazing. A 10 minute walk to shops, restaurants etc. Continental breakfast was a bit lacking especially if you are gluten free but hot breakfast is available at a cost. The pillows were a bit flat for our liking but we were rested and on the road next morning. The hotel has amazing views so request a room overlooking the ocean and you may be lucky enough to see the whales passing by.
Swayed by location. .all other rooms booked...settled for ground floor at $130 which was too dear for room..Stuffy..could not leave sliding door ajar as security door broken same with window..ok as there were 2 of us but single lady would not feel safe...ok with unreno room and bathroom but again should be much cheaper.Easy walk to town and beach.
It is definitely not a four star hotel!, not even 3 stars... actually it just a motel but of higher price! We stayed there for one night only. Poor security as everyone can access into hotel easily due to the open of back door for car park! Most worst, the reception was closed after 9pm and only a telephone number was left for emergency issues! Our room was Ocean view Queen room but it just located closely beside the road. We can hear every car and motorcycle passed during whole night! The noise was unbearable and we can't sleep whole night. The 'queen' size bed is just a double bed size and the beddings, quit cover and pillow case like haven't wash for years ! They smell badly! Besides, there was no ceiling light at the shower. The free wifi can only assess at corridor and lobby areas, not inside the room! We are definitely disappointed and will never stay here again!
Booked my daughter in for the weekend. For the price her and her girlfriends were amazed at the room. It was neat and tidy and well presented and a gorgeous view to go with it. She was so impressed she is going to book a room later in the year for her wedding anniversary and husbands birthday weekend. My husband and I are also planning to book later on as well.
This hotel is in a very good position overlooking the surfing beach and within walking distance of all the town amenities. Our room and indeed I think most of them, had a lovely small balcony with an excellent view of the beach. The room was clean and comfortable with a small sofa and coffee table. The shower room was very small and certainly not luxurious but it is clean and adequate. The breakfast room was also quite small but I think the boutique in the hotel title probably explains that! The breakfast offered a choice of continental or cooked breakfast and you order was taken as you entered the breakfast room. There was also a nice (again small) swimming pool at the front of the hotel. The hotel is B&B only but there is a good selection of places to eat within walking distance. We found the hotel staff welcoming and helpful.
We booked a family room for 1 night on the way back from sydney which I was told had a bath it didnt only a shower but a minor issue. The room was really dated, chipping walls, old furniture and rackety fridge, our duvet was missing a cover but the bed was suprisingly comfortable. We ordered room service the garlic bread was burnt to the crips but the guy delivering it with a backwards baseball cap told us thats how he likes it so if we wanted a new one he would make it again. We didnt. Our continental breakfast was included in the room and we were kindly upgraded to a cooked breakfast at no extra cost. Well shouldnt have bothered it was horrible, the food was terrible and the coffee from a budget machine that you find at an old service station but the view from the restaurant was beautiful. In saying that the girl checking us in and out was really lovely and went out of her way to make us comfortable. She offered us an upgrade to a better room but we needed 2 bedrooms so we stayed in the family room. The hotel desperately needs a facelift but its ok to stop for one night if you dont want anything fancy. The staff will make you feel welcome
Quite a nice hotel with fantastic views of the port Macquarie town beach and harbour entrance. Stayed 2 nights in room 216 but was disappointed with this room. Too noisy and had light from outside streaming in through illfitting shades. Third night were upgraded to room 204 which was much better and faced beach. Continental breakfast was part of deal and was very good. Overall was very good and we would stay again but in better room. Staff were lovely and made our stay nice.
We only stayed the one night at HW Boutique Hotel in Port Macquarie and paid $201.59 for a room with a view. The room was a decent size, clean with a small kitchenette, lounge and a lovely soft queen size bed. The room had a small balcony with a lovely view of the ocean, however it is right on the corner of main roads so there is a lot of traffic. There are a lot of hoons driving around in the middle of the night. The hotel has no lifts so you have to lug your own luggage up the stairs and the rooms have no space for suitcases. The parking is adequate and free. The location is nice and an easy 10 minute walk to the main streets shops and restaurants.
