The accommodation, food, service, surrounding gardens and the staff….especially the staff were beyond excellent. Nikki taking us to all the animals was extra special. We came away (reluctantly) feeling like we had been in a piece of African paradise. 5 stars doesn’t do it justice…More like 50!

It is a wonderful place with a great room ( Maritime) . Very well appointed and very tastefully decorated. The manager, Fiona, was most pleasant and helpful. It is a great place to relax ( nice walks around) before a long flight. We loved it there.

We only stayed at Kingfisher for one evening, but we can’t say enough positive things about the staff. We had an early morning flight the next morning and Cilliers went above and beyond to ensure we had snacks to take with us and had a safe ride to the airport. Much appreciated!

Pleasant Stay

Very clean and tidy Guesthouse. Rooms are spacious and well serviced. Breakfast is good although buffet is not large. Chef's cooked breakfast is a highlight. Owners are very friendly and location is adequate with shopping centre only 10 mins walk away. WiFi is OK although had many difficulties with voice over data. It should be noted that this Guesthouse does not allow any visitors - they are very specific about this and do mention prosecution if any visitor is found on the premises. There were a couple of occasions I would have liked to invite my host in to enjoy the courtyard but was unable to.

Wonderful stay and attention to detail

Wonderful stay for a sports event in PE. Comfortable, clean and decent sized room, and very welcoming staff and breakfast. The room was equipped with not just fridge but also microwave which came very in handy. The downfall was the wifi connection was very unstable and not super fast.

Great little place

Lovely stay in this friendly and welcoming guesthouse. Our room, overlooking the pool, was well appointed and very comfortable. The breakfast was great and they went the extra mile to accommodate dietary requirements.

Very upmarket guest house

Located in a nice part of Port Elizabeth, close to beaches and restaurants. Only 45 minutes drive from Addo and Kragga Kamma game reserves. Free parking and Wi-Fi, very well appointed rooms and five star breakfast served by the pool. The owners and staff know exactly how to run a classy small hotel and can provide lots of information on local activities, places to visit and, places to stay away from. Very easy to find as it's only 10 minutes drive from PE airport. We were there from Oct 9th to 12th then back after a 3 day trip to Knysna and George and left on Oct 19th.

Very good BB for a short or longer stay.

Our stay was for 1 night at the end of journey along the Garden Route. Our hosts were delightful and even gave us an early breakfast due to a change in the flight times. The guest house is relatively easy to find and very secure. For example a sliding high metal front gate. Parking was good and we drove in the evening to a recommended restaurant and had a great meal. The room was a little dated and quite dark (due its location at the side of property). However, the bed was very comfortable and the bedding clean. If staying longer there was a cooking area and small fridge. Overall very good for a one night stay and it is a shame that we did not have enough time to explore Port Elizabeth itself.

Highly recommend Kingfisher guest house

A nice, lovely, clean, comfortable guest house, run by two friendly hosts. Henk greeted us warmly right upon our arrival and later we met Cilliers who was in charge for preparing a beautiful nutritious breakfast. the place is very close to the sea site. parking is within the property and in close proximity to the room. there was a kitchenette in the room with proper amnesties to store cold drinks or prepare late night tea. all and all , a very good experience and good value for money. Wi Fi functioned perfectly.

Unexpected experience - blown away

Henk and Cillers care about their guesthouse and the quality and value offered to their guests. I've always been weary of guest houses and this one was recommended to me by a customer. From checking in, room quality, fantastic Kingfisher breakfast (how do they make the amazing scrambled eggs and tomato relish?), taking time to listen when needed and the checkout- all exceeded my expectations. I've found a home away from home for all my future trips to PE. The owners cook the breakfast and interact with guests when needed. They are passionate about their guesthouse and it shows. If it were up to me, they should be awarded more stars by the governing body that overseas guesthouses. I'M COMING BACK!!!
