Been coming here for ages.Room rates are reasonable and you get a decent size room in a beach-front hotel.Clean. F&B prices are really on the high side,so dont bother as there are many restaurants just outside the hotel...but it's about 400M from the lobby to the main road!
This is my first stay here. My sister suggested it since she stayed there before. Having to pay quite a sum of money and reading a good review of it, my expectation is high. First of all the front desk staffs are pleasant and very helpful...bravo but the rest of the staff looks like they were forced to work there, nobody smile... they entertain your needs but with a sour face. Secondly, the room...i have been to a lot of hotels before and this is the first time i have this kind of issue, the floor is sticky, the toilet looks gloom, the hand bidet is licking, most of the lights doesn't work, and lastly the A/C is so mild (min is 20D) seriously? In PD when is really hot and humid. I fell asleep sweating. Maybe since its school holiday all the normally used rooms are all booked, we were given the crappy ones. My advise to the management, please monitor your maintenance since they are mostly young boys. But i applaud the recreation staffs, they are good in entertaining the families with games and music....well done...thumbs up If by any chance i want to go again, maybe i'll go for the sea view rooms as they are the ones usually used and taken care off.
I traveled with my family, and this recent trip was our first visit to Thistle PD. As expected, the experience staying at the hotel was a pleasant one; the beach-view room we got was perfect with a very wide king-sized bed (on the minor negative side, however, this room had a lizard too). And my children really loved the swimming pool. Dining experience in the hotel was pleasant too. The only unwanted moment we experienced was when the hotel initially insisted on not helping us provide cutleries (x2 bowls and x2 sets of fork and spoon); we encountered this problem because we didn't realize the packed soup-based food we bought outside was only packed in plastic bag packaging, with no container provided. Feeling lost, we contacted the hotel's "Knock Knock" service for help, but was rebuffed twice. Help was only rendered when directed to the hotel's restaurant manager. I believe a hotel with Thistle's reputation will always put customers' concerns first, so the hotel might need to address the slight lack in customer-handling on the "Knock Knock" service part. Despite that, overall, the experience with the hotel is a positive one, and I will visit it again in the future.
One of the worst hotel I've ever stayed in Malaysia. Booking through trivago and no mention that it's under renovation. Staff at counter couldn't find our booking too. Though it says 5 star hotel but the floor, bathroom shower, shelving and everywhere are dirty and dusty. Staff are not aware of everything around the hotel. Ask them what's good for dinner, her reply was I don't know. All the restaurants and bar were deserted with no customers. Some china tourist got there and checked into rooms with choked toilet bowl. They were helpless with no staff that's able to understand or assist them. This hotel is quite out of way to a lot of places.
Love this hotel.. It has a beautiful scenery of the sea. Just walking distance. Very relaxing. Only problem I faced was there's lizard in my room.Really hope that the hotel management do something to it. I will come back to stay again if the problem is fix.
Nothing to shout about the hotel, yes it is lovely for sure, the pool is huge and the beach is nice. Something worth mentioning here is the staff - Sabri & Norain at the front desk and reception area. They offered such world class service - very helpful, attentive and quick with our check-in. I always think excellent employees are an asset to a business. So thank you Mr Sabri & Ms Norain. You both have truly made our stay here exceptionally memorable and enjoyable.
It is to my understanding that a hotel stay is supposed to be hassle-free, relaxing and fun. No matter how great the caliber may be, no great hotel should ever come to the point that guests who are checking-in have to wait. For 30 minutes. Luckily my family does not have any children to worry about but my sympathy is extended to those that do and choose to stay in Thistle. The facilities may be great but the poor service is just too hard to ignore. There wasn't a manager present to take control of the situation. Nothing was offered to the guest for the long wait. A good concierge would smile and be as friendly as possible to make sure there are no outbursts. This was not the case at Thistle. The clown at the lobby didn't even look happy so why should we? Come on Thistle, you can do better than this
Although i a little pricey, they room were wonderful and the bed is very comfortable. The overall environment is not so crowded so we cant relax and chill out at the pool area and the beach area. The breakfast spread were wonderful, surely will be back again.
We stayed the night on this property and clearly was sad that the room smelt musty when we walked into it. The birthday party was a blast but the dinner served was hardly anything to shout about. We were served by friendly waiters by the poolside. You will need to train your staff that man food stations. Had a not so nice experience with them. Lovely golf course and love the hotel's green sprawling gardens.
I visited thistle just to play golf with my fiance. The experience was pleasant and the weather was cooperative. It's a 9 hole walking course..it was okay maintained for the price of 120ringgit for 2. The par 3 were challenging and fun. The par 5 were too long for a walking course. Rmb to check in to golf at the main lobby.
