Stayed one night in the deluxe room. Checked in on a Sunday after a long drive from KL as me and my partner had a function to attend nearby. Our usual choice of hotel when visiting PD lately has been avilion admiral cove or grand Lexis but since it's been about 6 years since my last stay here, I thought I'll give it a try, which I regretted. My bad experience started even before I arrived at the resort. I wasn't aware of the check in time so I gave the hotel a call about 45 minutes before actual check in time which was 3pm and wanted to check if our room was ready, the person who answered rudely just told me "not yet" even before I could finish my sentence and provide my booking number. Upon asking her when could I check in (Wasn't aware of check in time yet at this point), she just said 3.00 - 3.30pm. She had a tone as if she was disinterested in her job and being a hotel of this status, I had never expected service like this. There is a way to inform guests that your hotel doesn't allow check ins before check in time, this is certainly not it. Upon arrival at the hotel, the check in was smooth but not a single hotel staff besides the bellman, greeted us or even smiled at us. No good afternoons or welcome wishes. As someone who used to be in this industry and travels frequently, this came as a shocker to me. Called the spa to enquire on packages, the receptionist was very good. The room itself hasn't changed much from my last visit however it has aged and definitely needs to be refurbished. The bathroom was spacious and clean with good lighting. The room itself lacked proper lighting, even with all the lights on, it was still very dim. Requested for a queen/king bed when booking and what we got was two single beds joined together with the gap in the middle being really obvious and uncomfortable. The TV has a small selection of channels, the mini fridge worked fine, the lamps and chandelier were dirty, we could see the thick dust and stains on them when the lights were on and it's pretty disturbing. The floors looked like they haven't been properly cleaned in a long time. The black out curtains had holes in them which was really obvious during the day as lights can penetrate through. The air-conditioning took a solid 3-4 hours to chill the room, even then it wasn't really cold, at night the air-conditioning started acting up and the temperature kept getting reset till I had to wake up many times drenched in sweat to readjust the temperature. The swimming pool was nice, lots of tables and chairs around the pool but most of them are broken and in pretty bad shape but they're still placed poolside instead of being fixed or disposed. The infinity pool at cumulus was great. Visited cumulus once last year and it felt like a good place to chill, drinks were alright. Didn't manage to drop by this visit though as they weren't open yet. The beach isn't very good as the sand is very course. Went for breakfast the following day, once again service was lacking. Approached a staff to let her know my room number, once again no good mornings or thank yous, just asked me "room number?" And thats it, what's even more disturbing is that the restaurant manager/supervisor was standing right beside her. I got a feeling this hotel doesn't understand the importance of being hospitable and doesn't train their staff. Only a couple of staff, interns I think, were the only ones who looked jovial at the entire restaurant, every one else including the live station chefs looked like they're not passionate about their jobs. The food was average. The spread was small. The only food that stood out was the omelettes and the roti canai. Expected better from Thistle. Check out was smooth. Overall, if you're someone who just wants to make use of the facilities, you can consider this, if you're someone who likes a great stay, spend your money elsewhere.

A nice place for families . Good clean beach .. With banan boats n beach buggies axailable.. Barbecue facilities are available in the garden ..pool with slides for children .. The room is good and spacious .. With big bathroom

Stayed with my family at the resort for two days. Check in was smooth. Got a sea facing superior room. The view was beautiful. The room and bathroom were clean but a bit old. But otherwise good. The pool area is very good. Very pleasant for children. Has a separate area for children with slides. The lawn area is very well kept. A lot of activities are there for children, indoor play area, lego room, movie room and Vedio game area. Had lunch at the Fresh Restaurant. That was just okay, nothing special. However the breakfast is really good. A lot of variety. Just one thing, that there are no convenience shops near the resort, so please bring nick nacks along with you :)

It's really good but expensive. Reasonable distance from KLIA. For a short visit and addiction to sea anyone can try. Overall experience is recommendable. Several activities are available for guests also for kids

From badly maintained room to bad food including terrible service at the restaurants. Booked two rooms on 6th Jan till 9th January 2018. The service and the hotel has really gone downhill from my last visit.

What we like : Large swimming pool, friendly crew, quite location, facilities including gym, golf course and children arcade room. Special credit to the team serving buffet breakfast. Very tentative to customers needs while ensuring empty plates are collected immediately. The life guard on duty are very alert and keep a close eyes on the pool. However the entire hotel is decaying. The setting within the room is old and aged. house keeping crew is not clean. I stayed in level 4 and still see rubbish along the walkways even though the housekeeping crew just passed by. Typical don't see don't care attitude. Time for this hotel so undergo a major make over

located a bit further from PD main attraction. Greeted by nice hotel staff. Gone for business function - team building. The room is superb, the facilites too - Skyfox and everything. Nice view with seaside bar at night. A good place for business function but not for budget holiday.

I must say the size of the resort is huge and spacious. The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. However, I was surprised that the room was quite run-down. The room I was in had a closet which door had been taken off. This is a closet where a safe deposit, iron, ironing board is stored. For some reason the door was taken out and the closet was left bare. The bottom part of the shower curtain was filthy. The towels had some kind of damp smell.

This hotel has a good sized pool and all rooms are sea facing. But I think it is over priced for Rm 500+ per night. Maybe PD resorts are expensive, I am not sure. The resorts provided breakfast which was quite satisfying.

The kids loves the swimming pool a lot. There are slides for the kids at the kids pool. Rooms are a little old but still well maintained. The beach are of walking distance. Nearby nice food restaurant are not many. We ate at Al Hidayah on our first dinner and ordered Pizza Hut delivery where we had to pick from one of a junction about 10 mins away. There is a Lego room/Kids room too. Awesome for families with young kids.
