Our was not too big but that was ok. The bathroom was clean but very small. The were not ok (too soft). The dinner was ok and the breakfast was good (according to Italian standards) . The choice of food was quite good with scrambled egs and hardboiled egs. Also muesli and yoghurt wer present.
Bed in my room was very uncomfortable. Thanks to admin, who changed the room. Staff ten points. But wifi was completely dead, house seems to be old and with ghosts:-) Breakfast as always in Italy, and I will never understand this...
Not quaint, not charming, in the middle of nowhere, you definitely don't want to stay here if you are visiting Venice. The owner genuinely doesn't like people. We ate dinner their two nights and it was horrendous. There was a thick mildew smell in some of the rooms. Save yourself the misery!
I traveled in March and stayed here with an EF tour. It is a family run hotel with a quaint restaurant. The feel is very old European, small, with steps that go up and down on the same level; not conducive to carrying heavy suitcases. The dinner for our tour group was a three course with pasta and a pork and potatoes dish which was a little too salty for my liking. They were helpful with the dietary restraints of a few of our travellers. Breakfast was fine. Hairdryers were very old. Our room at the back had a nice balcony for fresh air. It is quiet and quite a way from Venice, I would rather stay closer to have more time on the islands. Saturday night had entertainment in the lounge and offered a nice ambiance for the adult travelers.
The hotel is suitable for short stay on your way to Venice. The rooms are clean and comfortable. We were offered a cheap dinner menu with appetaizer ( pasta ), main course(pork, beef or chicken) and a dessert all of which were quite tasty. I highly recommend the dinner. Otherwise the hotel isn't anything special, especially considering the pettiness of the staff during the breakfast. In cases that the restaurant is offering a fixed amount of food, at least they should make this clear and put the food individually on the table, not put it all together and thinking that the other people would know that they have only 1 piece of cheese and meat and you are out of it if you are late with 5 minutes than the others on the table. And answering the question why part of the food which you have paid for is missing with "Sorry you are entitled to only the food on the table" leaves quite a bad impression on travellers.
I too was on an EF tour and I read a great deal of reviews. My experience was a good one. The staff was nice and the room was clean. No mosquitos and room was good to sleep in. It is not around a lot and is out of the way but that is the only thing I didn't like. And they had hairdryers, always a plus in my book.
On our trip to Venice, we stayed at this hotel. Is on the outskirts of Venice. It is a small not luxurious Hotel which is administered by a local family. Feels more like a guest house than a hotel. It is generally small and has no adequate facilities. The rooms were small, old and not very clean. You have to pay 5 € per night to use the air conditioning because it didn't have many windows. On top of that the air conditioning did not cool. Our room was above the kitchen and we could hear the cooks talking and moving pots. Dinner at their restaurant was excellent. The offered traditional home cooked italian food including spaghetti with meatballs. However, the breakfasts were average. The breakfast did not include ham and egg. In terms of staff they were nice people, not excellent. At least they offered WiFi. The hotel was not to my liking. If I return to Italy I would NOT in this hotel stay a second time. Look for something closer to Venice.
I also was on an EF Tours trip, though at a later time than the last reviewer. I found the hotel to be below expectations. The worst thing was the terrible mosquito problem. They were swarming everywhere. The lights in the hotel were on a timer and would go off in the hallway every 3-4 minutes, even if you were standing there talking. You'd have to hit the switch to turn them back on. The rooms were impossibly small and the linens were very old and seemed dirty. Our bathroom was possibly a handicapped one, since the shower was not separated by anything on the floor (Water drained into a drain there, in the process getting the whole floor wet). Inadequate number of outlets too, and AC was optional for an extra fee. All in all, it felt like I was staying in an old grandmother's rundown home and would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
I went here with a group from EF Tours, and therefore had no choice in where we stayed, so I didn't know what to expect. When we got here, I was pleasantly surprised. The place is small, but quaint, and the people were very nice to us. We ate dinner with our tour group 2 nights at the hotel, and the food was good, as was the service. The room was small, but clean. We had air conditioning, and even though we couldn't get it to blow super cold air like we are used to in the USA, it was still comfortable sleeping here at night. There was a bar in the hotel and they were open until 1-2am. Breakfast in the mornings was excellent and more than I expected, as Italians are not known for their breakfast. Overall, I'm happy we stayed here and would recommend this hotel to others traveling in this area of Italy.
