Great for Glyndebourne

Bell Cottage is charming! Very comfortable, beautifully decorated, well equipped and a great location for walking and for visiting Glyndebourne. Alfriston is a lovely village with a brilliant shop/deli and good pub meals.

Cosy cottage for a winter weekend

We had a lovely weekend in this beautiful cottage, right in the centre of Alfriston. Well equipped and very comfortable, and nicely decorated for Christmas too! Great instructions for where to unload and park as well.

Great house, great location

Very easy to book, with very responsive support throughout. We loved the property and the flexibility of booking and extending our stay. The bed was super comfortable and the shower was excellent aswell as the kitchen equipment. Thank you for everything.

Strongly recommended

We have spent a very enjoyable family holiday at the property. The location is really excellent. Beautiful beaches of East Sussex are easy to reach, and the village itself is also pretty. The house had everything we needed. The description and the photos are accurate. The agents were very helpful.

A charming cottage in a great location

Bell cottage was a great place to stay in Alfriston, right in the centre of the village. It had a little garden at the back which was private. It was tastefully furnished and the bathroom was modern and the shower worked well. It was nice to come in and have a little welcome basket of bread, butter, coffee and some milk in the fridge. It was the perfect place for a holiday, we loved it.

Excellent

Perfect location for our trip, revisiting the area after 25 years. Alfriston is a great base, able to buy our groceries at the local shop, have a meal out at the smugglers arms, & browse the wonderful bookshop. Parking was convenient, kitchen is well equipped, and a nice library of dvd’s for relaxing evenings st home. Highly recommend.

Very nice

Cosy little house,very nicely renovated with wooden floors and a pleasant enclosed back garden. It has a homely feel to it and is in the quaint village of Alfriston in a fantastic area. Brilliant for walking with loads of local footpaths. The house is on a busy narrow road and parking is in a public car park 200m away. Fully equipped kitchen /diner and two good sized bedrooms and large bathroom. We had a really nice stay.

It was OK,but the property needs some maintenance. Front and back gates do not shut,very rough “patio”.glass broken in kitchen window,lots of areas ,wall skirting boards need painting.Bathroom door not closing properly,loose tiles by bath.Found tv VERY complicated. Other than that all OK. (I took photos of damage/problems on arrival.)

Het huis is fantastisch ingericht en voelt als een warme deken. Alles is aanwezig. Het dorp is prachtig en de omgeving leent zich goed om een korte of lange wandeling te maken. Het enige minpuntje is dat de weg aan de voorkant vooral 's nachts erg lawaaiig is.

The cottage was really peaceful

Lovely comfortable beds & reliable WIFI for WFH. We have dust allergies and were not affected staying here as no carpets etc. My wife has mobility issues but stairs nice & wide so no problems using them. Good pub nearby (Smugglers) with large & partially covered beer garden but the garden @the cottage was really peaceful to sit in. Alfriston is a very friendly place.

It had everything we needed

We really enjoyed our stay at Bell Cottage. It was very comfortable and had everything we needed. It was particularly suitable for our two dogs, with wooden floors throughout and a completely enclosed rear garden. The owner was very helpful and left essential provisions, which was much appreciated. We would happily recommend Bell Cottage and hope to stay there again before too long.

A genuinely lovely holiday cottage

A genuinely lovely holiday cottage, very comfortable, well equipped and of good quality. We enjoyed our stay here tremendously and we're grateful of being able to take our dogs too. We are highly likely to return. Easy and pleasant communications with the agent and the property owner who was lovely. Although the property has no parking there is plenty of street parking and short term car parks available. We didn't find this an issue even when unloading and loading the car. There is some noise from the road with it being the direct road through the village, only really noticeable in the morning with us having windows open as we were lucky enough to have lovely warm weather! The wine, milk, fresh bread, butter and cookies kindly provided for us on arrival were a lovely touch. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this cottage, village and general location to anyone!

Would definitely return for a longer break

Beautiful cottage, tastefully decorated, top end bed linen, crockery and kitchen utensils. Lovely garden to sit outside, even in autumn. Highly recommend and would definitely return for a longer break and even more Sussex walking days.
