Total disappointment & overpriced. The staff eventually responded to my calls by moving us to another room away from a view of the junk area of pallets, broken equipment etc to one with a lovely view but the room was still outdated with chipped furnishings, mouldy bathroom and torn mesh sliding screens.

Worse hotel ever

Worse experience ever! Their reception is at Mercure which is about 1km away and the address on here is different. It took us 30 minutes to sort out the check in as we first went to the address on hotels.com and were then told to go to another address before a lady mentioned we need to check in at Mercure! If that wasn't enough, the ac didn't work well, it was 38C and the room was very hot. The hotel facility is dirty. We left within a few hours and didn't stay the night.

Great storm however……

My stay coincided with a large thunderstorm which caused a few issues (e.g. no tv reception, card payments down). Nothing that the hotel can do about that however the communication was non existent and the attitude of the staff in the restaurant wasn’t great.

After working out the receptions was located at a different location we made it to the property TV had foxtel but nothing worked. apparently a fault with all of the rooms. no tv at all Bathroom door handle about to fall off Shower tap about to fall off Shower rose needs a clean. or replacement Doors are dirty. finger prints around the place. either a good clean or paint

Lovely space, spa bath in bathroom was great, outdoor area a bonus, couple of maintenance issues in room, toilet seat closing was deafening. Shower taps don’t turn off properly. Property nicely maintained. However pool & pool area needs extra TLC. Top row of tiles needs cleaning as depths marker tiles very dirty & hard to read. (Safety issue) Staff in restaurant were great.

The staff was amazing the customer service was amazing they are all so helpful and nice people, the whole place has it’s character about it, the room we stayed in (604) was uncomfortable to stay in because of the energy from spirts, it doesn’t show threw the day it’s mainly of a night, you hear sudden knocks suddenly things drop and there’s nothing there, I could go on and on but I highly recommend if you love your sleep and you want to enjoy your stay DO NOT stay in room 604! Overall it amazing! Thankyou harragins!

Comfortable room in the Hunter

A very comfortable stay. Rooms are very tired and mattresses will need replacing soon. Furniture is old and veneer is peeling. Rooms have a lovely outlook.

Lovely place to stay, friendly staff very accomodating, good food we had breakfast in the bistro awesome pancakes my husband had big breakfast. beautiful grounds and scenery. Feel like you’re on holidays, kids had a great time in the pool, there’s a big pool for older kids and smaller pool joined for toddlers. Really nice place for families to stay it’s quiet, beautiful gardens serene setting to relax and just be. Will come back here again! Very close to Hunter Valley gardens we came for the Christmas lights.

We felt that only one hook in bathroom for towels was inadequate.... a comfortable chair in the room would have been nice......plenty of room for one! We left one day early due to prediction of local flooding expected in our home town. Because I gave 3 days notice of this i would have liked a refund or part refund!!!
