The room was amazing from start to finished. From the moment we arrived in poor weather we were warmly greeted and quickly shown to our room when we were able to get change and enjoy the view of our room.
Parking for the rooms is not convenient , particularly having to cart bags etc across to your room in the rain! When the car park is full you are required to park even further from your room. Also the rooms are not near the main complex ,which requires you to walk to the facilities or get picked up in a golf buggy m again not pleasant when cold and wet.
We had the most amazing weekend here for the start of our honeymoon. The staff were friendly and so attentive. Rooms were beautiful. The spa was so relaxing and the Legends Grill was superb, best meal we've had in a long time! Can't wait to go back for our first anniversary!
We were after somewhere with a restaurant on our mid week stay and Elan has a free golf shuttle over to the Vintage Country Club where the restaurant resides - everything about the service and the stay was delightful
The accommodation and facilities are marvelous. Breakfast is excellent, and we also hired bicycles with electric motors which was good fun. The biggest disappointment was wifi. It is weak and unreliable, and for accommodation as expensive as this, it needs to be better.
Peaceful and beautiful surrounds, this place was the perfect romantic getaway. The facilities were great and the staff very helpful and professional. Definitely recommending this place to family and friends.
We stayed for three nights in the one bedroom apartments, on the top floor. Pros. * Staff are very friendly and helpful * very well equipped apartment with a dishwasher, washing machine/ dryer. * great kitchen * great heating * spacious * comfy king bed * kitchen restocked everyday with tea, milk, washing liquid, toiletries etc * great view of the golf course * and more! Cons * can't really think of any! Loved our stay here! We played tennis, used the gym, played golf and more. Will definitely return.
Ok, we booked the room from booking and the type of the room there is always one option with spa, but tell you what, it for sure not like the picture. Room is ok but out front there is a wall with isn't like the picture was showed. If you tell me the picture just for shown, fine, lets talk about the big deal. The Internet. So you won't have cellphone network here, not even calling "SOS only" which makes the hotel wifi is the only way that can make you still live in the world. But the wifi here it just block everything that require large data transfer such as video website YouTube or so, you can't even login to AppStore. If the hotel don't want to put more money on wireless I'm fine with using my phone's 4G, but since you can't get service in this area and we have to use hotel's wifi, they should have the responsibility to make the network as fast as possible. So, if you want to stay out of the network, here will be a good place to go. But if you want to bring any work as I do, STAY AWAY.
Visitors to the Hunter are spoiled for choice with accommodation options ranging across the price/amenity spectrum. Chateau Elan is at the upper end of the average with an expansive and well laid out wine/golf/spa resort. The vernacular is more golf centric than winery but the guest suites and facilities are superior no matter your interests. The place is evidently set up to cater for functions but it seems to be large enough to swallow them up without corrupting the serenity. We did not take the breakfast option which, upon inspection, appeared to be unexceptional for the cost. The valley abounds with better choices on that count. The good: our 1BR King Villa (130) overlooking the golf course was modern, spacious, comfortable, clean, well-appointed, private and supremely quiet. Everything expected was there and it mostly worked as expected. The kitchen was sufficiently equipped for all but the most extravagant meals and included, unexpectedly, a washing machine. The villa is air-conditioned with the supplementary heating & ambience from a stone gas fireplace. The king bed was comfortable and the linens plush. The décor is 3 to 4 star hotel vanilla. The included wifi worked well on all our devices. There is onsite parking for your car or helicopter. The not so good: parking is in the open opposite the villa which, in rain, means a good soaking if you’ve forgotten the umbrella. The helicopter parking is even further away. Our bathroom power outlet was loose and performed erratically. The living room sofa was more decorative than comfortable. We'd come back.
This hotel was an absolute dream. The location was breathtaking as well as the room, which was the perfect combination of class and comfort. We also enjoyed many of the amenities, such as the tennis courts and golf course. The hotel staff were so warm and genuine and always seemed to have a smile on their face. And of course, the creme de la creme was having an open spa in our room- ahh the pinnacle of luxury!
