This hotel is recommended by a travel agent who told me that she had visited this hotel during her visit. My original plan is to stay with a 5-star hotel but I have changed my mind after her recommendations. 1. Front desk I arrived the hotel early in the morning as this was the only available direct flight. When the car stopped in the front door of the house hotel, it really doesn't look good. After I went into the lobby, it was quite different. It's not luxurious but it's pleasant and comfortable. The staff in the front desk are all very nice. There are welcome drinks, refreshing towels, etc. The staff are helpful and assists to find the earliest available room for me. Fortunately, there is a room which is available at 11:00am and I can settle down myself first. 2. Beach, water sports and sunset The beach here is very beautiful. During my 4-day visit, the weather is generally excellent at around 25, not humid (in fact, windy and dry). There are ample supply of beach chairs and you need not walk around to find one. Surprisingly, the beach at the Nirvana is not sandy and with some seaweeds and rocks. On the contrary, the beach near the boat house is very good and you can go to the boat house for some free water activities or go to the Shells Restaurant for lunch conveniently. I stay all day in the beach. It's so relaxing. The sunset at the beach is Incredible. Please take your camera with you. 3. Food Food in La Faya, Shells and Cumin are good, but hard to say that it is excellent. If you wanted to choose for a dinner or lunch, don't try 180 but these restaurants. However, if you are a meat-lover, don't choose Cumin as less types of meats are served there. However, the Indian food there is special and worth a try. 4. Eat with cats and birds Except La Faya, all restaurants have a common problem - cats and birds are eating with you. The cats climb up your chairs and tables for your food!!! It's very annoying to eat with cats and birds. The only way is to finish your meal and leave the restaurant asap. It's quite disappointing for not having a relax environment to enjoy the food during the holidays. 5. Environmental friendly You need to bring your toothbrush, toothpaste, comb as they are not provided in the hotel. Sometimes, the cotton pads are not refilled. You may either need to bring some with you or ask the staff for assistance. You will only be given 2 bottles of water on the whole stay of the hotel. You may need to buy some water. 6. High charge for beverage I am on a half board plan and find that the beverage is charged with high rate. For mineral water or sparkling water, it is MUR 120 (USD 3.5) for around 4 cups. Other beverages, e.g. Cocktails, are around MUR400 (USD 11.5) and a bottle of bear is around USD9. If you want to drink a lot, you may try to ask for the all inclusive plan. 7. Room My room is ocean facing with a fantastic sunset view even if I stay in the room. It's near the boat house at the 3rd floor. If you wish to walk directly from the room to the beach, the garden view room is also good. I noted that many families with kids are in these garden view rooms at the ground floor. All in all, the beach is excellent, the stall are helpful and polite but the food and controls on the cats/birds around the restaurant area requiring improvement.
We stayed at Le Meridian for our wedding and a special time was made perfect! We can't thank the staff enough for making us feel so welcome. We stayed in the Nirvana wing which was really relaxing, the spa room (steam, sauna, whirl pool) was an excellent daily treat. We would like to thank the bar and restaurant staff for both excellent food and service, especially the No1 barista Kamlesh and his wonderful creations! Last Faya restaurant was definitely our favourite. Our wedding coordinator, Nadyia couldn't have done anymore for us, THANK YOU! Swimming with the wild dolphins in the ocean will be remembered forever!

We stayed at Le Meridien Ile Maurice, and had a wonderful holiday. We were on an all inclusive basis, and the food was excellent. Each and every member of staff was extremely pleasant, helpful and efficient, in fact the best hotel staff I've ever had, anywhere.
Hi we were a group of 20 people and was there for 4 days had a great stay and the food was very good probably the best Indian food you can get abroad. The rooms were also big with 2 double beds so you don't have problems with kids as we were travelling with kids .
We had a great stay at the Nirvana wing...good food and service throughout...special thanks to the lady Mrs Sheila for decorating our room every evening...We have really enjoyed our stay.. Hope to be there again soon..
Hello guys, Me and my wife stayed at Le Meridien Mauritius for 5 days. It was really incredible experience. There was no doubt of their hospitality and services. We were warmly welcome by their staff. The staff was very supportive and enthusiastic to the help guests. All kind of foods were available ( including jain) and it was delicious. All other hotel's activities were also very nice and full of fun. Room was very clean and nice. I have ever had a great experience with Le Meridian hotel and their staff. One thing I would like to share with you is that , staff of Indian restaurant in that hotel are really awesome and specially Mr. Jimmy Louise who is manager of Indian restaurant. He and his staff and chef are always ready to serve food with full smiley faces. Thank you Mr. Jimmy. Really it's worth of money and incredible sea view hotel.
We visit this hotel every time we visit Mauritius. A lovely hotel with great welcoming staff, truly flawless. Great food esp the bbq food events and the live band and sega show (thurs i think) in the round outdoor cocktail bar over the beach is an absolute must! The watersports service is great too and really looked after our kids eventhough my son lost 3 of their frisbees! Great rooms too. Definately recommended.
After reading Trip Advisor reviews and looking through the 2016 Infinity Holiday brochure we were looking forward to our 10 day break. On arrival into our Premium deluxe room the first thing we noticed was the smell, followed by dingy fittings dirty bathroom and a lounge seat that was so dirty you would not sit on it (room 312) we refused this room and were shown another on the same floor (room 304) same conditions only lounge seat was cleaner. After a discussion with the night manager they agreed to update us to a room in the Nirvana Wing. This room was way better than the previous 2 but still dingy with damp walls (mould) maybe that was why after the cleaners finished making up the room they always turned the aircon down to its lowest setting(15 degrees). 180 degree restaurant food was bland, during dinner one night a cat was urinating against the door next to our table. We had a half board package which included breakfast and dinner. Shells restaurant was a disappointment looking forward for varied seafood and ended up with curry chicken with a few shrimp on top. Cumin indian restaurant currys were good only ate there once other items soso. The saving grace was the La Faya restaurant which was near our room, we ate most of our breakfasts and dinner there the food and service were excellent. Pristine beaches I don't think so ours required booties to get into the water because of the rocks, maybe living near the beach in Western australia we are spoilt. All in all we believe that Bali runs rings around Mauritius, such a shame as the water was warm and so blue....
We arrived on a evening and the welcome was very grateful. The first view in the morning from our room on the beach and Indian Ocean was just a fantastic dream. Harmonized to this view all personnel and managment was like the same - just awesome. The beach is very safe and clean. The boats trips are offered on the beach from Andy are really well organized. Food in all 4 restaurants are great and very flavored. Special thanks to the two manager from the restaurants Shells - Mr. Benjo and from La Faya - Mr. "Fisherman". Our favorite was the Shells because of his dream Team Kushai, Mehfooza, Tarun, Adarsch, Abha & Nuwraj. This is the reason wy we will come back. Thank you
