Peaceful, beautiful, easy to find. Had everything we needed to enjoy a nice quiet time together. Short walk to the lake that is the definition of lake life. Clean, easy to get around, plenty of places to explore. Short drive to night life if needed. We didn’t have WiFi, and that made the trip even more amazing! If you want to relax, this is a great place to do that😎❤️.
We enjoyed the lake and the classic rustic A frame. We loved the large deck and very nice deck table/chairs/umbrella, the view, fire pit, proximity to the lake, use of wonderful kayaks, comfortable beds, well stocked dishes/pots & pans/towels/paper goods, great kitchen layout and sink setup, grill, overall excellent cleanliness, and the abundance of fans. This getaway has a vintage feel to it - I have never seen a microwave or shower as quaintly old as the ones there, but they work! The public boat launch is a 5min walk away down a hill. The 2 single kayaks and provided rollers are relatively easy to use, just expect closer to a 10 minute return up the hill. WiFi is a work in progress. Verizon has a good signal. T-mobile does not. Overall a great stay - not fancy but quite functional in a beautiful setting.
Spent 5 nights in this rustic A frame. Though not directly on the lake, a short walk to a community boat launch. Lake Ninevah is really a special lake, great for kayaking, since no power boats, except trolling motors are allowed. Located close enough to Ludlow Vt. for great hiking, golf and dining, which we took great advantage of. The house contains the simple essentials for your stay, There is an obstructed view of the lake, which in the fall season would be fantastic. If your looking to swim in the lake, they do let you swim from the launch area which is O.K., but if you have a canoe or kayak, can paddle to a community raft in the lake, which is fun to swim off of. Cindy the owner was easy to communicate with and helpful with any questions or concers you may have.

Disappointed
The A-frame is cute, and has most of what you'd need or want on a vacation. Unfortunately, there's no cell service and the TV didn't work most of the time. Cindy, the owner, came to the cabin with the cable guy several times, but didn't get it straightened out until my last week. WORSE THAN THAT, there was an infestation of carpenter ants which made a disgusting mess on the floor and beds--we had to go to a hotel until Cindy could come clean it up, but still had to leave early.
This is a must place to stay. Very clean, quiet and relaxing. Enjoy your favorite morning beverage while sitting on the deck overlooking the lake while the loons are singing. Cabin has just about everything you need for your stay.. Yard is a decent size for kids and pets to play. WiFi calling and messaging is present. The lake is a short walk from the cabin and the lake is clean and warm with plenty of fish to catch. Ride to town (Ludlow)is only a 15 minute ride with plenty of excellent places to eat and shop. If you're looking for more stores or something to do take a ride to Rutland (33 minute ride) plenty of places there. Buttermilk falls is another place where you can go cliff jumping into so very cold refreshing water. This was our second time staying in the area and will definitely be coming back again and again until we find property to move there.
The A-Frame was exactly as described and as others have mentioned, Cindy really did think of everything. You will only need food and your clothes. The short walk to the lake with the kayaks was very manageable for my teens and I (there are two wheeled carts to do this, very easy to use), and the overall location was a great jumping off point for getting to tourist stops as well. There were lots of areas to just walk and falling asleep/waking to the loons was amazing. We even saw a moose while on the lake. While technically you aren’t supposed to swim at the boat launch, the people that monitor the spot daily (to check boats, etc) all told us they wouldn’t mind so long as we got out of the way as needed. The dock to swim from is in the middle of the lake and unless you have a boat, you aren’t getting your family there easily. Most days we had the lake to ourselves which was nearly magical and unheard of. All of us had the most relaxing time and even the three kids said they would have stayed longer if we’d be able. Thank you Cindy for making our first vacation in years so pleasant.
This rustic a-frame was perfect for our family of 4, but would totally work for 6. We had a little trouble finding it but type in dam road on you gps and keep driving straight. It will be two left turns later and then on the right. The road is unmarked and you should review your map in advance.
We have a 1 yr old and 9 yr old and this was ideal. There were fun kayaking activities for my older one and a little beach for my daughter. The cabin was great as i didn’t have a lot of breakable things to contend with considering little hands are into everything.
Beds were very comfortable and good pillows. Everything was tidy. Towels provided for showers. Dishes were all clean and we had everything we needed to have a nice long weekend.
Be prepared for no cell service (we were happy about that). The wifi was strong and we had tv when needed. It’s a good idea to pin where you want to go ahead of time.
The cabin has a nice view of the lake from the porch even with full summer leaves still on. Great to sit out and take in the fresh air over a cup of coffee. This cabin is a quick 15 minutes to town as well so everything you need to grab last minute is right there.
If I had any complaint it would be the fish cleaned the hooks pretty good and the hubs was disappointed about no catch and release! Would stay again if we take a trip to VT.
Camp accommodation are as shown and described. Beautiful rustic wood inside the A frame house. Nice views from the windows. The bedroom with 2 twins and trundle bed worked wonderful for our girls. Mattress were comfortable and body pillows in master king bed lovely. The kids enjoyed the kayaks and going to the dock in the center of the pond.
Internet was good, everyone had enough service and we didn’t lack in speed. TV worked well, just had to unplug it to reset it twice as suggested. Fans were important as it was warm. The landscaping around the porch stair is uneven so one of our party had to use the back door due to some mobility restrictions.
Kitchen is rustic but pots and pans adequate. I am recommending more bowls and some more steak knifes. We grilled some steak (grill works with match to light it) and only had 2 steak knives for 6 of us and some of us ate cereal in mugs.
My son set up a tent outside (we had good weather) and said it was quiet and easy to sleep. The area was set up great for our dogs and it was a pleasure having them with us.
Plenty of space on the deck. Dinning area a little cramped for 6 of us, but the space on deck made up it. Fridge and stove worked well. Plenty of hot water.
Bathroom was as expected in a camp. We had adequate towels, soap, shampoo and other essentials. The bathroom door needs a lock. We had a few accidental interruptions that would have been avoided with a lock.
Stair lights and railings were well placed and very helpful getting up and down in the night to the restroom.
The distance to the lake is a little farther than implied in the description (about a quarter mile). We found out from the greeter at the boat launch that swimming in the launch area could result in a fine but the dock in the middle of the lake was free to enjoy. Getting to the dock was fine for some of our party but others with some mobility issues lost out on swimming. Luckily there is a a state park nearby so we had one day there for us all to swim.
Communication was good, and we got to meet Cindy. We had a nice summer break. Thank you for your hospitality.
I had a very peaceful stay at this cabin on Lake Ninevah. The cabin has all the basics you need for a comfortable stay and is really adorable. It has a great deck that overlooks the lake. The beds and rest of the furniture are very comfortable. I enjoyed many mornings out on the deck with a cup of coffee, listening to the birds and gazing at the lake. My dogs were very happy here and had room to play fetch and there are many great walks in the area. Due to the elevation (approx 1800') the cabin stayed relatively cool all summer. I would definitely recommend this cabin for your Vermont stay. Cindy, the owner, was very responsive and kind. Thanks Cindy!!!
