I’m giving this property 1 star due to the host’s lack of communication. I can’t comment on the cleanliness or amenities because I never ended up staying there.Check-in was scheduled for after 4 PM, but I never received check-in instructions. I sent multiple messages, left a voicemail, emailed the host, and contacted Vrbo support. After spending over 20 minutes with Vrbo and waiting several more hours, I still had no response from the host.At 10 PM, six hours after check-in began and only after Vrbo intervened, the host finally responded and informed me that the property was unlocked and that the key was inside. By then, I had already made other arrangements. I was uncomfortable staying at a property that had apparently been left unlocked all day, especially after such poor communication.The lack of check-in instructions, the host’s failure to respond until Vrbo intervened, and the unlocked property made this experience unacceptable. Guests should not have to chase down hosts for access information or assume a property is simply left unlocked.My advice to the host: provide check-in instructions before arrival, use a lockbox or door code, and be available to communicate with guests.My advice to Vrbo: require hosts to provide check-in instructions before check-in.I will not book with this host again, and my future use of Vrbo will depend on how this situation is resolved.
