Very happy with our room - superior twin on ground floor - excellently located for our elderly mother with easy access to all facilities. Booked evening meal option and more than happy with the food. Breakfast was braw - only lacked a wee but black pudding!!
Overall very happy with our two night stay and would certainly return.
Beautiful hotel, floorboards a bit creaky woken every morning with the people upstairs but to be expected of an older hotel, lovely big clean room nice and warm,
Do not stay here, i made this booking as a gift for my mum and her card was charged without authorisation upon leaving. I have continually tried to reach the hotel where the reception is never answered and the booking line say they can not help.
I will be persuing this charge with the Fraud tream at my bank. Absolutely terrible to charge a pensioner with no authority.

Beautiful hotel
Really nice room, but could benefit from updating and some plug sockets didn't work.
Other than that, the bed was comfortable, the room was spacious, food was good, and the facilities and location were great. No issues!
Would recommend this place. The village itself is an amazing place.
The hotel staff were all friendly and helpful. The bar and restaurant were good and well priced. The room was comfortable and clean but the bed could have been better. Given the age of the building I thought it was very well maintained. The breakfast was fantastic and gets you through the entire day. The meals in the restaurant for dinner were good also.
Lovely clean room. We did upgrade our room and got a nice corner room with a view. Dinner was amazing..3 course meal for dinner (roast beef and Yorkish pie). Fantastic

The pictures of the room online do not reflect reality. Room was very tired and run down, carpets very old, paint peeling off the wall below the room window. This hotel is very run down.
Room not clean. No toilet paper, partial draining shower. No coffee - only an unpleasant odour. Thankfully the window opened and the bathroom fan worked. 1 star rating at best

Poor hot water supply for showering, had a tepid water shower, my wife didn’t shower because of water temperature, basically no improvement since our last visit. I informed reception and they both looked at each other and in unison replied O’ yes we will inform maintenance ! knowing full well the poor water temperature is a ongoing issue! Doh!

The room is huge as is the bathroom. We enjoyed the sauna, pool and hot tub (which wasn't very hot) a nice way to relax. Had dinner there as well, the pizza was excellent.
Good Spa facilities, quiet location, uphill walk from the town centre, lovely relaxing hotel will visit again.

Good sized lovely looking hotel. Comfortable spacious room (suite) but in need of a refurb overall. The fixed menu 'table d'hôte' wasn't great but the breakfast was excellent. Good service and friendly staff. A 10 minute walk into town. If you want to walk, turn right as you exit the front door and you'll see a path down to the road.
Reception area not always manned and you had sometimes to look for member of staff. Generally improved since the last visit but room for further upgrading.
