Wonderful resort could not fault it ,peaceful & quiet adults only ,great rooms and facilities, restaurant brilliant, shuttle to beach 3times a day and many other great facilities would recommend to anyone
Have left today and stayed for 7 days. The staff were beautiful, the pool great but unfortunately thats where it stopped. Unless you are a mountain goat and used to climbing the sides of a hill its very taxing on the legs. At first the outside bathroom was quirky but getting covered and bitten by mosquitoes got a bit much. The food was average, the location was however very good. Maybe an upgrade to a lift would serve better purpose. This really hit home when an 80+ couple couldnt really go anywhere from the resort due to the stairs.
The transfer to the resort from the airport was excellent, but arriving at the resort close on 11 PM is really not ideal when there are so many steps, uneven flagstones and steep paths to negotiate to the room. My room was well appointed, clean, and well serviced but so protected by the garden, the mosquitoes were rife and the Jacuzzi impossible to get in or out. Overall the staff were great: helpful and very attentive but their English was limited.. Booking tours and drivers through reception was easy and staff made sure that our special needs were met. I found the restaurant food lacked the intensity of flavours typical of Thai cuisine and disappointed that the menu was void of traditional Thai deserts.
We had a fantastic one week stay at the Mangosteen resort - such a peaceful beautiful place to relax and unwind. Very glad it was out of the hustle of Patong. The staff were excellent and we loved the pool with swim up bar and 3pm happy hour. In particular we loved the spa and had about 3 massages...the ladies there were lovely. Highly recommend upgrading the groupon voucher as the villa we got was beautiful with outdoor private jacuzzi...and the upgrade price was still very cheap. Thanks to Ian who gave us some great tips on what to do in the area in particular for the local seafood market in Rawai...we thoroughly enjoyed it!! Overall I would highly recommend the resort to anyone wanting a romantic peaceful holiday in Phuket. Its away from the hustle of Phuket city amd Patong but still close enough to get to these places easily. The staff were very friendly amd welcoming. Thanks for a great experience for our first time in Thailand!
My husband and I are at the Mangosteen Resort at the moment. I am glad we got a deal on this resort and didn’t pay full price. The resort itself is average in quality and facilities. The staff are lovely and helpful, this is the best part of the resort. We had a massage at the resort, which was very good. The rooms are dated. Our room is at the bottom of the resort, which means a walk up the hill every time we want to go anywhere (including the pool, restaurant, spa etc). Our room is also along side the yoga pavilion, to start with I thought this was ok, but I am now sick of hearing their talking and giggling on the way to the pavilion (all hours of the day), and the constant chanting and instructions from the yoga instructor. We can’t sit outside our room without hearing this most of the day. The property is in a secluded location, which is great, but is up a couple of big hills which makes access to rooms, pool, restaurant and outside activities only accessible if you are fit. We found most things at the resort its self pretty expensive (apart from the mini bar, which is very competitive with supermarket prices). We would like to be able to just buy a piece of toast and/ or an egg on toast for breakfast, but it appears this service is not available. For the price we paid this was a good deal, I wouldn’t come back and definitely wouldn’t pay full price. I am guessing we got this room because we were on one of the cheaper deals, but will not entice us to come back.
If you want to stop at a nice, polite, clean resort, read on. We have visited many parts of Thailand over the years, and have only once been disappointed, this resort tops the lot and deserves our full 5 stars. The holiday was arranged by Voyage prive', I give them 5 stars also -faultless We arrived in the early evening to a complimentary drink and cool towel. Booking in only took moments and we were taken to our villa, a superior Jacuzzi and it was excellent. Thai in its comfort and appearance - perfect Breakfast was included and yes you order your eggs as you wish, but the buffet is laid out to satisfy all we had decided that this holiday was going to be a proper R & R and spent hours around the beautiful pool or just swinging in the hammock by the villa reading. The rooms were spotless and made up everyday. I should mention the beautiful breeze that you will only get by being on a hillside making the heat very bearable We do enjoy finding places to eat etc and if you walk out of the resort, 10 minutes away are a number of eating places, shops and the usual massage parlours. Yes everyone goes to Kooks, its very good, but try the Green Life restaurant, try the H & M beauty parlour for your pedicure etc. If you walk yo the main road, turn left and try the Reiki, a tea and coffee house with so much more, great food and service Raiway beach is a 200b taxi ride, fresh seafood and many eating places The hotel offer a free shuttle to a local beach and night market - not to be missed Evening meals at the hotel are not cheap, but good - you make your choice The spa is excellent, but again not cheap I have seen comment by other reviewers on the lack of spoken English, and quality of the staff. I found all to be polite, efficient and understanding - how good is your Thai? We had a small problem with the safe in the villa, reported it to reception, the maintenance man was there before we got back - better than you would get back home I would suggest! So yes I give this resort my full 5 stars - Only one wish the flight wasn't 13 hours!!
Food and drinks expensive and of poor quality. A little isolated but good for R & R. Walking distance to the local restaurants was handy. Staff were friendly and always helpful. For a Phuket holiday, restaurant and spa treatments were expensive.
I managed to get this breakaway by chance and we had a lovely relaxing time. The large room with a great view and it's own balcony was amazing. The staff and pool were fantastic. The food was good and plenty of it at the themed buffet nights.
Great pool, great rooms, great service , great food, great gardens and all welll maintained, our only thing was , it as a bit hard to communicate with staff at times, front desk staff were welcoming all in all very recommended
We spent a week at Mangosteen and really enjoyed it. Our villa was spacious with a lovely bathroom. The in room bar was reasonably priced but drinks and food in the resort were very expensive. however we found a lovely restaurant just down the road and also had dinner in RAwai a few nights. The resort provides a shuttle to the beach. Highly recommended
