Nice resort - relaxing area on a hill. Shuttle to the beach daily. Good food but thai buffet was a bit of dissapointment this time. Not even spicy. I missed som tum, fried rice, a tastier cashew nut chicken (with cashew nuts in it !! not only 2-3 pc) sum yum kung etc etc. Expensive beverages at the restaurant. Inexpensive big bottles of beers in the mini bar by the villas. Do the resort want guests to stay in the villas :-) !!!??. Improvement could be that during Happy Hour that the staff walk around the ppol asking if guests want drinks? I had to go and look for staff both times and at one time I was forgotten with my drinks. Seems like the hotel favoures the member guests a lot and tend to "forget" the other guests. It shows. The hotel have sales persons who tend to want to talk to guests during breakfast and wants guests to join the Mangosteen program (expensive hotel programme) - be aware of this! Don´t go in September when it rains a lot. The owners ar German/Thai - man German and very nice. It is 14 years old this resort and well maintained. We have been there two times. The outdoor showers are fantastic in design - and I just love this!!!!

We arrived a day late and very tired due to a delayed flight ... what a lovely sanctuary to recover and rejuvenate after a month of travelling elsewhere ... lovely pool and gardens, exceptionally comfortable beds and facilities in the room and staff bent over backwards to ensure we had a room with a beautiful view of Chalong Bay as requested !

A great, relaxing place, close to all amenities. I really enjoyed my stayed here and i will certainly return in the near future. I do like to check different places out while i stay here in Phuket and this is seeing a return

I am a regular traveller to Thailand but this was our first time staying at this resort in Rawai. Thinking we were actually staying in Patong, I wondered where on earth our driver was taking us as none of the scenery to the resort was familiar. When we finally arrived and was shown to our room, we were blown away. The grounds are stunning, the rooms are gorgeous and the feel of the resort really tropical. Our 7 night stay was perfect and even being a 30 minute taxi ride to Patong we were just far enough out to enjoy a quieter holiday without the hustle and bustle of big crowds. Nothing like Patong so if its markets, shopping, you want, Rawai probably isn't for you although only 20 minutes to Karon and 30 to Patong in taxi. Nice to experience something different this time.

The place is dated with jaded staff. Not what we are expecting from a small boutique hotel. Service is below par with staff severe lacking of soft skills. The bottom line here is money. They just want to make fast bucks from their customers and charge everything at a premium without providing the service. I guess business could be slow during this period but that's not the right way to operate. We booked our tour to Phi Phi island with the resort at a premium price of course. It's unfortunate that we couldn't make it to the tour as one of us was down food poisoning. The staff on duty were unable to assist when we reached out to them for assistance and quick advice. He doesn't even dare to escalate when we feel that he seems helpless with our situation. We have written to the management asking to put us back on the tour before we leave. Without surprise, their response was that we will have to pay that premium price again. The only thing that worth commending is the driver who was compassionate enough to accompany me to the pharmacy to ensure that I get the right attention from the pharmacist so I get prescribed with all the appropriate food poisoning medication. When I commend the incident to his management, their reply was the reception had told him to do so. What a joke! Be most wary when you have unfortunately made your reservations at this resort. My condolences to you. The deal they have offered may only be most attractive for their room price. The catch is in the hidden charges on the services they so "generously" offer at their so called "good rate". They kept sending you emails on the additional offers they will be providing right before the day of your check in and continues to email you with that through out your stay. It's total BS. Lesson well learnt for us. We will never return to this place and definitely won't be recommending to anyone.

Love the friendly atmosphere of this boutique hotel. Located in Rawai beach area and tucked away, way from the crowds but conveniently located near to some of the mostly beautiful beaches this is a great hotel for families. Rooms, service, staff were all excellent....again!

My husband and I just returned from the Mangosteen resort, where the service was phenomenal. The location in Rawai was perfect for us and we loved the Boutique feel of the hotel. The restaurant and spa on site are fantastic. We can't wait to return.

As a regular traveller to Phuket, I have very good friends in Thailand. Since I had a booking for two people, I had an intention of either my best Thai female friend staying with me, or a lovely Canadian friend staying with me for a few nights. (They both live on the other side of the island and visiting would be difficult with the very long drive and/or expensive taxi fares: $30 AUD to both their locations.) But I checked in very very late in the early-morning and was given an almost non-existent welcome at reception when I arrived (plus the transfer arranged via the hotel completely neglected to pick me up and the hotel was not very compliant with sorting it out (and made absolutely no apology)). Therefore, I actually neglected to mention the second guest on checking in, but my booking voucher clearly stated "two people". Later, the 'so-called policy' which they continually quoted, was that unless I stated when booking in that it was for two people, no one could come and visit/ stay in my room /swim with me in the pool/ unless they paid 1500 baht extra a day! My membership allows me a one bedroom apartment, plus it allows two adults and two children, should they be requested!! And I've never heard of a hotel that didn't allow the second guest to check in later?! To cut a long story short, on visiting the hotel the next day, my very lovely professional Thai friend was treated like some sort of a interloper and was made completely unwelcome. We thought it might be an oversight by the reception staff, following an unclear protocol, so we asked to speak to the owner, with whom she has contracted business before, as she works in the hotel booking industry. Despite his poor memory and his rudeness about my interval international membership (stating that I.I. did not exist when I joined!) he was extremely rude to her and to me. He is a German fellow and has a very unfortunate manner for someone in hospitality. The problem was not resolved and I have to say it coloured my whole two weeks stay in the hotel and I will never stay there again. Poor category: *The transfers, *the owner's awful arrogant manner,* rudeness and inefficiency of the reception desk, (including did not answer phone/refused to give proper description of where the shuttle bus stops in Hai Narn beach) *the lack of cleanliness of the bathroom and toilet, * inability to use the garden spa (plug jammed) plus always dirty, *the darkness of the rooms, * the expensiveness of the cocktails, *Very convoluted steps and pathways (fell flat on my face and gashed my shinbone), * too far from shops and no facility to run people there. Excellent category: *Beautiful gardens, *lovely pool and inbuilt spa, *lovely bar and restaurant staff, *excellent views of the surrounds to the beach, *Indian Doctor who consults regarding Aryuveda treatments is very lovely and very competent and his staff are absolutely wonderfully-skilled in massage, scrubs and wraps, *The whole spa area is beautiful, well-epuipped, clean, has excellent facilities and is beautifully kept with flower and pond arrangements. """Perhaps if there was a different owner/ manager the place would be beautiful!!""

The downfall was that we didn't have the view from our room, and it is a little bit of a hike to a dept store/airport/Patong. In saying that, if you want to TOTALLY's AWESOME! Doubly awesome without kids annoying you in the pool...(not a kid hater, was there with my adult daughter). The beds were unbelievably comfortable, service was always pkeasant. Pool was AMAZING! EVERYTHING else was totally brilliant!
