The views at this hotel are pretty special but the 17% they add on the already high priced food made it not worth the money to eat in the restaurant. There’s a lovely one just outside the resort which we highly recommend Hinkong!!
we enjoyed the calmness and the extraordinarily friendly staff a lot. the price ist very high, but it was worth for us for this time. to come every year, ist the price to high.... the wifi was not so strong, was
A really beautiful and remote resort on a very peaceful island. The staff is great and the facilities are very nice. A few additional activities for free and maybe a wider range of them would make it paradise.
Initially we have two options for booking in Koh yao yai. We finally decided kyy village instead of Santhiya. So, it was a success because we visited Santhiyah one day, and but also is a great hotel, does not have the enviroment and tranquility of KYY Village.
This is a lovely destination if your plan is just to relax in a nice setting. The room was beautiful and stylish to every detail. The staff is extremely friendly, caring and dedicated. During our stay maybe half of the rooms were occupied, and it was nice and quiet at the resort, max 5 people on the beach :) Nice pools, good food. We stayed at Paradise on Koh Yao Noi after Village, and totally preferred Village!!
Nice place to relax with spacious villas. Many areas would need to get renovated. Confusing „special offers“ and happy hours in various bars and restaurants. Pretends to offer bargains but overall bad value for money in regards of food, drinks and massages.
This is the most beautiful resort I have been too. We are not into resorts as we like to explore the culture and area...but this let us experience nature, fantastic service and great views. The rooms are well laid where you have a patio, outdoor shower and spacious bedroom. Scooters are easy to hire to explore the island and park at he hotel for safety. The hotel offers a wide range of facilities however they are a little prices so be careful when charging drinks to your room etc.
We loved our 5 night stay here. if you don't like cats, please reconsider as they are plentiful at the village and friendly. The Tokay Gecko are also plentiful; won't hurt you, however, their droppings can be seen in the inside of your bungalow. They eat other insects which is fantastic! Restaurant very convenient and delicious with a different dinner buffet every night and ala cart too. The pool area is fantastic with a swim /walk up bar. Very friendly Thai staff and most can speak English. I would definitely go back!
Spend 4 nights in a family villa for 4 in this nice resort, some 25min easy taxiride from the Northen ferry pier. The island of Yao Yai is a relaxed and quiet one, and merely visited by backpackers, save for the comfortseekers, who are well served at KYY Village Resort. Spacious accomodation, a rich breakfast buffet and good selection of lunch dishes, the place does have a drawback in pricing; set dinner buffets around THB 600 pp are just overly costly, especially when you can get similar food for less than half just outside the resort. Thai massages same story. Most importantly, the accomodation is some 30-40% more expensive than comparable hotels in the wider Andaman Sea area, and especially the shuttle service of the resort is an irritation; every single journey is between THB 300 (for 5-10min) or THB500 (15min) trip. Hardly a service, I believe. Granted: the pool, views from the restaurants and the quality of staff (command of the English language!) were good. Would come back once prices return to normality.
If you are looking for a wonderful location, with 2 great and scenic pools, Koh Yao Yai Village is perfect. If you are fond of a clear sea with white beaches where to hand out, it's not what you will find.
