I am glad I stayed in this hotel (Adult section) for three weeks. The room, 1204 was a lovely side sea view, overlooking one of the garden areas, and enjoyed afternoon sun on the balcony The rooms are also quite dark, without overhead lights, but, has a good reading light beside the bed. The only mirror is in the bathroom. Be aware that the three pin you use is not the British three pin, better to bring European plug. . If you have camera with separate lens, be aware of the effects humidity vs air conditioning. You will need a lens cleaner. The hotel, as with shops, seems to favour different levels of floors without reason. I had an injured foot and found that I spent considerable time staring at the floors, to negotiate high and low levels to avoid stubbing my toes. I felt that anyone who is not physically able would struggle. The seaside restaurant has buffet for breakfast, and serviced tables in the evening. There was also a self- service restaurant, open for breakfast and evening meals. Take -away was also available 24 hours. The food was excellent, and enough variety to sustain a longer holiday. You can also ask for levels of heat for Thai dishes. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. This applies to all Thai people I met. There are no beggars, and, a polite refusal to hawkers is enough, you will not be hassled. The sea outside the hotel is the only area of the beach that is practically stone free, making it a safe and pleasant swim (Jan- April) without the need for beach shoes. You can now hire a sunbed on Kamala beach, in two designated areas either side of the hotel. Beaches are also now non-smoking! If you use sunbeds in the hotel, the pool staff remove all towels etc. on beds until 10.am to ensure everyone is first come, first serve. If you snorkel, you need to go to the northern end of the beach (to your right, as you face the sea near the Novotel), which is rocky, but, about 50 yards out, there is a small coral reef, with a reasonable variety of fish, including what I think is a snowflake moray eel . You will need to travel to find the best snorkelling. The private beach, noted in guides for marine life, north of the hotel is no longer accessible, even if you try to access via Surin beach. Tips; if you take cash to exchange, higher value notes have a higher exchange value. There are several exchange booths in the village main street (just off the beach). Take plenty of sunscreen as it is expensive, also plenty of bug spray. The hotel does supply electric machine in the rooms with tablets to discourage mosquitoes. Use hotel taxis for trips. I used one for 1/2 day trip to snorkel at Ya Nui for 2000 baht. As a single woman, it is safe, and, you can keep valuables in the taxi while swimming. So much better than crowded trip with limited time to snorkel. Try Thai coffee with condensed milk - heaven! Try the Street food in Chinese quarter, it was amazing. I could not fault the hotel; it was one of my most enjoyable beach vacations. A special mention for ‘Tom’, our rep. He was a consummate professional, so helpful, and went the extra mile to ensure our comfort. Saga is extremely lucky to have him. He even managed to find me zip ties for a temporary snorkel repair!! The only downside to this holiday, was the flight out with Malaysian airlines- never again.
We stayed on level 4 by the pool and thought the rooms were incredible. Very big, cleaned to a high standard, fresh bottled drinking water provided every day, and a stunning view overlooking the large pool area. The pools themselves were very clean, had an awesome swim-up bar that we spent many afternoons enjoying (with the friendliest bartender ever - Ton!) and offered food/drinks delivered right to your sun lounge. The restaurants had live music of a night and a great buffet breakfast in the mornings. Very friendly staff and great food - try the stir fried chicken and basil leaf! Thank you for a brilliant stay, highly recommended 🌞🍹
A large hotel but we stayed in a garden room so very quiet. The rooms are average and need a new update. The food however is out standing we ate in the main restaurant by the sea. The steaks were outstanding the service excellent especially Arris and Oil. The bar staff Kob, First, Poo ,Ton,Lerm and Thu again outstanding. MUST not forget our housekeeper Jieb was first class.
We visited the Sunprime Kamala Beach as part of a Saga two destination holiday - Tom the Saga Rep is a real bonus, a real star with a wicked sense of humour. The hotel is pretty large, but well spaced out and despite the fact that there is no beach attached to the hotel (public beach through the gate), there are plenty of pools to lounge around. The pool areas are kept spotlessly clean and there are are always plenty of sun-loungers available. It should be noted there are notices around that loungers cannot be "reserved" by placing towels on them (before 10.00), and we were pleased to see this rule rigorously enforced by the staff. Well done! The food from the two restaurants is of a high standard, with a good selection of takeaways, if that's what you want - no complaints there. Some good quality live, decent music in the evenings - a bit of a bonus. The only let down, hence only three stars, are the rooms which are in need of updating, not only the furniture but also the beds - rather hard and unyielding. This, I guess is down to the age of the hotel. Lastly - a very big plus point - are the staff who are really exceptional!
Lovely child free resort with multiple pools. Very clean hotel, with friendly staff. The food is lovely with a menu containing both western and Thai food as well as vegetarian and vegan food. Highly recommend treating yourself to a massage each day followed by cocktails at the pool. Although you will need a taxi to explore beyond Kamala, they are easily found at the entrance of the hotel. Alternatively, it's a three-minute walk to the main road to signal for a toktok.
A realy nice clean place, the staf goes all the way to make you feel at home. i just love it here. I think i go back again this year. the food is exelent, brekfast is huge, i must say go there. and the best thing no kids. not that i dont like kids but sometimes its just nice to not have them around
In the hotel there is a strange rule, if in the morning before 10 a m you moved away from your sunbed, then a special employee takes your towel, personal things, bag, laptop and so on and carries away. while small things are lost. it is very unpleasant when some employee touches my personal things, clothes. it is very inconvenient to guard the sunbed all morning, it is not possible to swim in the sea. The special pool staff looks like he likes to mock the guests of the hotel.
good to great hotel. everything and everywhere clean, good beds, air-condition everywhere, really good wifi (even on the beach), no kids under 16 and beautiful beach. minor complains: no introduction tour when we checked-in, breakfast could be better and twice we got 'thrown out' when breakfast time was nearing its end. instead of just clear the buffet we were (politely) ask to leave the table although we still had food on our plate.
It was my first real beach vacation and my very first visit to Thailand, with friends. We booked two rooms at the Sunprime Kamala Beach resort, because of its good price and traveller reviews. Turned out to be a good decision. Though there was an unexpected incident with the airport pickup service, and we had to call the hotel reception desk a few times, eventually it’s sorted out. We arrived in the early morning and were offered free breakfast and room upgrade. After we finished the breakfast our rooms were already ready, which was really cool in hot weather. Surprisingly our rooms were huge, facing the pools. Clean and very comfortable. The hotel facilities are all in good condition. The pools are very clean, even after a windy day or storm the pool water was still very clean. We spent almost all our times by the pools. Beach towels are provided. The young man at the towel desk has a lovely smile, and it’s a happy moment for me to pass by the towel desk each morning. :p Thanks to its beach front location, we just need to step out of the hotel garden to enjoy the sea and sand. The hotel’s massage services were also very good, prices are not higher than outside. Kamala beach is a quieter part of the island, a good choice for relaxation and avoiding crowds. If I’ll return to Phuket again in the future, I’d certainly consider staying at this hotel.
Booked into a Junior Suite for 7 nights. The room was very clean and was suitable for longer stays. The resort pools were excellent and staff were helpful and friendly. Being right on the beach was a highlight for us. Choice of two restaurants in the resort was good and there were ample good restaurants within walking distance. The resort has a mini market. Would select this resort again if staying in Phuket. Having a adult only policy was one of the main reason for our selection.
