Atte. Sam. Cav. It was a very beautiful experience. And past my time a in a very pretty way. Both the resort and its luxuries which it offers, many different pools, two great restaurants, excellent food (24hours room service), a small supermarket, an emergency doctor, gym and much more. The rooms are very elegant and are cleaned daily. They have air conditioning. And all the staff treated us from the very first day very well. With a lot of respect, but so is affection. A special compliment deserve: Vez Fa Khun kar Me and returned with a beautiful memory of ay and i hope to go soon again. Atte. Sam. Cav.
This is the 2nd year we're here and I can honestly say I enjoyed it, even more, the 2nd time around. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the pool area is fabulous and I just love the cocktails at the pool bar. The breakfast choice is soo good. The ladies that clean our room are a gem and are so pleasant. Always cleaned immaculately. Great short walk to the main town and lots of great massages enjoyed. Can't wait to go back again
We read on here several days before visiting that smoking was allowed everywhere within the grounds and I was so disappointed as I have asthma and smoking triggers an attack. When we arrived, the hotel was extremely busy and as expected there was smoking all around, all the pools but not, as I had read, in the restaurants. For the first 3 days, we went around to the Sunwing part of the hotel (where there are families) just to get away from the smokers however, we. couldn’t access the all inclusive there -we needed the drinks as it was so warm! We met with Tom, the saga rep, who suggested that we met with the manager, Johann. This was arranged for the same day. At that meeting, we were told that he was trying to introduce a new smoking policy, having already put in place, smoking areas away from the main pool areas. We suggested that he make one of the four pools, non-smoking and he arranged for the top pool, by the reception area to have no-smoking signs around a approximately a quarter of that pool. This went quite well, although smokers sat there, they went to the smoking areas to actually smoke. The area was expanded during our stay and no problems arose, that we knew of. As it went so well, Johann informed us that he was going to introduce the non-smoking to one of the pool bars, also. However, this was done after we left, so we are not aware of how this went. We were disappointed that we were unable to use any of the pool bars in the evening, due to the smokers hogging the areas however,we spent more time over dinner in the sea restaurant, enjoying the very nice wine, with our meals. The rooms have dark furniture and this makes the rooms look dated however, we found that there was more than enough lighting in the rooms which were very spacious, clean and mostly well maintained. We did have a problem with the air con unit that was rapidly sorted. The fitness room was just below our room and that could be noisy in the mornings and evenings when the classes were taking place. The staff were so friendly and helpful, they were a pleasure. The choice of food was exceptional, well prepared and well presented. We used the restaurant by the sea for our evening meals, enjoying the ambience and the rapport with the staff. We booked our table for the evening, enjoying a table overlooking the sea and enjoyed people watching, going up and down the path to the town. The pool were cleaned on a regular basis, we often sat and watched, from our balcony, the maintenance of the areas. The garden staff were always busy. We had quite a bit of rain in our last week and during the rain, there is very little to do. Although I do not agree that films etc should be shown in a public area, we like peace and quiet when we are away. It might be a thought to include some films for viewing on the room television. Tom, the saga rep was quite helpful and knowledgable, better than a lot we have met over the years. All in all, an enjoyable stay
We spent 3 weeks at this resort during March/April. The location is great, situated right on Kamala Beach with just a short walk to the left for restaurants and the local village and to the right for more restaurants. There are 4 lovely pools with lots of loungers and umbrellas, it was good to see the towel rules of no towels left before 10am was adhered to. There are 2 restaurants one serving Al a Cart one a buffet, though the food seemed to be the same in both. We ate in the buffet most of the time and the food was fantastic, something for everyone. At lunch time only the beach restaurant was open but the pool one operated a takeaway service which was well used and cooked to order. The rooms were kept very clean by house keeping, the only complaint being a lack of lighting making them look dark and dingy! Overall this is a good hotel but the toilet facilities leave a lot to be desired, they could do with an overhaul, apart from the reception area there was only 2 toilets, one situated just outside the pool restaurant that was unisex and another under the beach pool both had only two toilets. For such a large hotel we found this quite unacceptable. The said toilets could also do with air conditioning as the mossies were rife! Would we go back, is a question I have been asking myself! The answer is probably yes. For the Thai New Year next time as we came home the day before. The staff made this holiday for us, they were so helpful and understanding and the majority of them had a good command of the English language. Management you should be proud!
We have just had another great week at Kamala Beach. The food is excellent - there is plenty of choice of both international and Thai food and it is always beautifully presented. We tended to eat at the Restaurant by the Sea which is primarily a la carte but when we ate at the other restaurant which is primarily a buffet menu that was very enjoyable too. Our room was very comfortable and kept very clean but perhaps could benefit from an update. However our bathroom was modern and possibly recently updated and there was always plenty of hot water. The 4 pools at the resort are beautiful and maintained to a high standard. There are plenty of sunbeds with umbrellas and even though the hotel was almost full we were always able to find sunbeds. The hotel has a no reservation before 10am and any sunbed left unattended before 10am had items left on it removed which stops a lot of people putting towels down on sunbeds early and then not using them until very much later. The staff at the hotel are brilliant - very friendly and helpful and still very professional. Our holiday rep Tom was again a great help, very knowledgeable and certainly the best holiday rep we have had on over 40 holidays. The hotel is set right on a beautiful beach and within walking distance of the local village. The hotel has a shuttle bus that goes to Panang and Phuket for those guests who want to explore further. There is also a night market twice a week near to the hotel which is well worth a visit.
My husband and I booked this hotel for a 5 day stay, based mainly on the high number of great reviews and were truly looking forward to our stay in Kamala Beach. On first glance, it looked very promising but unfortunately, we were very disappointed soon after we got to our room and we ended up checking out after two days. Most disappointing was some very basic maintenance issues - our TV and air conditioning unit didn't work, our door key took 5 to 6 attempts to work and the metal safety chain on our door was broken. Reception and management did a good job of attending to these issues the following day and we're very helpful - but they should never have been an issue, if the owners invested in regular maintenance. Then there was too many instances of small, but annoying customer service issues that I don't expect in a "4 star" resort, such as not being offered coffee at breakfast, getting a cup of coffee poured but no spoon at breakfast the next day, no beach towels being available in the afternoon, drinks orders being consistently wrong, I could go on forever. The complimentary dinner at the Pool restaurant was the last straw. The waitstaff didn't bring menus and seemed to simply assume we'd opt for the buffet dinner (which was poor in choices and quality, similar to the very average breakfast buffet). Staff were curt and seemed disinterested. All in all, the resort is a 3 star resort at best. It has a great location, is adults only and the pools are great (if you can get a seat and towel). Unfortunately, it is let down by poor execution and a series of disappointing customer service experiences. I could not recommend this resort at all.
The most important is thing was that he hotel is +16 years so you don't have to hear children screaming. Is no holiday air. There is no music at the pool and no other activities or entretainment. But the most stupid thing is the rule at the pool in sense that until 10 am, you can not let your things at the sunbeds because is not allowed and the peronal form resort pick up all .Besaides the hotel is well located.
The hotel has a majority of Russian guests who smoke all through the hotel, around the pool, restaurants and room balconies. If smoking turns you off don’t stay here, otherwise lovely staff and great food, the rooms are clean.
I will start by saying we are not really ‘stop and flop’ holiday makers. So not much to do and Kamala itself and beach quite seedy. Hotel was pleasant but missing many touches for the price. Had to call down for coffee/tea and cracked glass to be replaced after pointing out. Grasses and trees a bit messy. Only 2 bottles of water when 40 degrees! Best part was the free gym classes which some were for the truly fit. Which was nice as too hot to exercise outside. We were fortunate to be upgraded to top level full suite, which was nice-but huge but pretty empty of furniture(?)
Our stay was amazing, the people friendly and the place beautiful. Our stay started with a lovely welcome and a free upgrade to a pool view room. Our room was spacious and walked out directly to one of the many pools. The food including breakfast and room service was delish and well priced. Swim up bar a hit well priced cocktails. Close beach access, to some small shops and the weekly market just a 5minute walk away Highly recommend we enjoyed every minute and will be back. Added bonus was its separate from the family version next door sl as a couple it was super peaceful
