Phuket is nowadays rather touristic with only restaurants, souvenir shops, tailors, and massage clinics, but there are still a lovely beach and many lovely hotel resorts. Diamond Cottage Resort & Spa are whatever you are on tour with your girlfriend or have a family-holiday with small kids a good place to stay. The children love the pool area and especially the water slide. Old and youngsters love the area with many loungers and the pool-bar. The restaurant was very cheap with a lot of Thai dishes to only 99 baht = 2,5 Euro and a lot of very delicious seafood and European dishes. The hotel-staff was very service-minded, and we were offered a lift daily with some of the electric cars around the hotel area.
Location is good. The room is spacious but have strong bad smell of something old and unfresh. Have no noise isolation. Have no ordinary soap. Too poor internet speed and require login after every network loose. It's sucks. Selection of breakfast is poor. I've advice made pictures of real room condition and staff available to prevent any claims
My husband, son and I stayed at this hotel. We originally booked one night which was a reasonable rate for the condition of this hotel. We booked another night as were unable to get anywhere else nearby for one night. The manager at the reception said I had to book online as I had done this for the first night? They would not book for me, the cost had doubled which was definitely not worth for a hotel in this condition! The air con in our room was exceptionally poor and the second nights stay was unbearably hot, the bathrooms are very old fashioned and the hotel rooms really need modernising. Gaps in the doors and windows leave mosquitoes into the room, combined with poor air con is unbearable. I would rate this hotel as Two Star only.
I passed by this restaurant us it was located infront of the road and it looked beautifull so i thought i had to try it.The service was very good and the food was even better and not expensive at all.
Room was dated in need of updating but pleasant enough and clean. Bath a bit of a problem getting in and out of, shower always wet the floor ! Only four hangers in wardrobe and asked for more and got two ! Next time I’m packing my own ! Cheaper to have room service than eat in dining area. Porters most helpful fetching and carrying from room area down to end of driveway as this was very steep. Nearest beach not too far, but taxi tut tuts very good. Had a very enjoyable time. Lots of places to eat nearby and supermarkets. Booked a pool access room, it wasn’t anything like the pics so be aware, ask, don’t presume.
We were very disappointed since we arrived... it's maximum worth 2 stars...... poor wifi, poor location, poor environment. We booked a room that has a direct access to pool, and on the first night there were flies and ants on my feet! We wanted to cancel the later several nights but they didn't allow us to do... the breakfast was edible, and they said it was 2-5 mins to the beach... it was not... it's not worth the price. There are way better options
My family went to the Diamond Cottage to eat lunch, and we were not disappointed. The restaurant offers great food at a ok price. I personally drank the Watermelon fruit shake and it was awesome. However it was really hot and could do with a few more fans.
We stayed for 5 nights and wished it was just one. The staff were lovely but rooms in desperate need of attention. Could feel springs coming through mattress with very uncomfortable pillows. Bathroom could be better. Walls paper thin and had to put up with screaming child in next room every night. Breakfast not so good. It's a shame the resort has become run down as it is in a good location.
Have been here 13 days now and can't find a single thing to complain about. Arrived at around 5:30 in the morning and stayed in the pool area until our room was ready around 1 pm. There was quite a lot of people arriving at that time and some were furious about not getting their rooms. Why can't people respect the international check in time that is 2 pm??? If not fully booked you might be lucky to get access to a room earlier but if yr room is occupied with guests checking out at noon and then it has to be cleaned you'll just have to wait. And certainly not start yelling at the night porter. Booked one of the rooms at the pool "downhill" with direct access to the pool "river" running in front of room 401 thru 412. Are in room 409 and it's perfect. Relaxing at the terrace having a swim every afternoon. Very quiet and beautiful. Upon arrival I asked for extra blankets, bed mattresses and extra toilet paper (two women and I was familiar with the 10 sheet a roll Thai style toilet paper) and within five minutes the request was responded too. The cleaning ladies have not missed one thing. Sometimes, even at five star hotels, you have to call about a missing towel, coffee, soap or something but every day's it's been perfect. Pool area is nice. Food and drinks at pool bar good. Have had some good laughs with the staff. Especially when they forgot the tequila in my margarita- and I didn't even notice it... Had massage at the pool area. No complaints. Dinner at the restaurant. No complaints. Contacts with reception staff. No complaints. The room we are in are definitely more than three star. Don't know about other rooms at the hotel but the 401-412 rooms are great. That's the Diamond Cottage Hotel. You won't regret booking this hotel. Now to the Karon/Kata area. Nothing special really. Take a taxi to one of the surrounding beaches and go to Phuket town for shopping. Lots of ok restaurants though.
Upon arrival we got informed that hotel is overbooked and we where rebooked to an other hotel. It turned out that the other hotel was in the middle of nowhere. We certainly protested and requested to talk to Management. Booth was ignored. Due to transport back to Diamond cottage we missed a pre booked and paid boat tour and overall lost one day of our valuable vacation time. We several times requested compensation and to talk to Management, but presence of responsible manager (Name probably: Arunee) was denied each time. Message left did not receive any response. It was observed that this was obviously not a single case but rebooking happen to at least 8 other guests. So the overall experience was very negative. Pools are nice but small. Many rooms do not deliver what their category promise and/or guests might expect. Breakfast was considered under Average.
