I was at Chensea for 3 days, everything was fine except one thing was that: i asked them to find out for me a safety driver and could speak good English to drive me around the island but in the end they arranged for me a taxi driver who only spoke a few, very little English, he introduced to me his name is "Mr. Men", we was expected that we could have a driver who could speak English to introduce for us something about the island but he could not speak English, when entering the taxi you can not imagine the smell of taxi the same like rotten eggs, especially for the long trip around the island then you will feel not comfortable at all, do not understand why in other times I took the other taxis from different taxi companies in Phu Quoc I also felt the same smell. I did hope the Staffs at Chensea they have more attention to the wishes and needs of their customers because when we go travelling and stay at a 4 stars resort like Chensea we need a holiday with fun, relaxing and really comfortable!.
This resort is an oasis on an otherwise disappointing island. It is small and intimate and a perfect choice for couples. The grounds are well kept and the Beach front Villa we stayed in was really gorgeous, spacious and well decked out with bathroom goodies. Grass down to the sand, looking directly to the sea, how good can it get? The infinity pool is beautiful and just right for the size of the resort. The staff were very attentive round the pool and loved the fruit Kababs in the afternoon. However, the decking round the pool needs some serious work done! The restaurant has a super breaky and the lunch/dinner menu has a good selection of Vietnamese/international choices. All very good! The staff are lovely, we were very well looked after in the restaurant by Ly (Lee). Oh and fantastic cocktails in the bar underneath the restaurant watching the sunset. The only thing on departure that left us a bit unhappy was we were asked if we had taken the Chen sea beach bag with us , which we had, as we thought like the supplied slippers this was a gift, and then we were asked to pay 450,000 V for it or basically we had to unpack our bags! Maybe we missed reading something in the room about this. All in all we had a really relaxing time in this very well run resort.. and hope it keeps its uniqueness as the larger hotels are developed on the island. Highly recommended.
Perfect place to stay in love, relax and peace! Staff is amazing, food is good, rooms are romantic, all is perfect! Beach and sea are reserved only for resort guest. Finally the swimming pool... fantastic. A paradise!
I have to say after travelling north to south Vietnam we were so looking forward to our lovely relaxing time on Phu Quoc. I searched high and low to find the best place and settled for Chen Sea. What can I say I was not disappointed and this place exceeded my expectations far and beyond any other place I have been to in the World. From arrival into the airport and being picked up by the hotel transfer bus to arrival everything was smooth. The staff are just the most attentive, lovely warm people I've had the pleasure of meeting. Check in was smooth, drink and nibble on arrival and then shown to our lovely apartment - room 201. We asked for a sea view room and the view was spectacular. Attention to detail was very well thought through. AC was great, toiletries amazing, the outdoor bath and shower were a lovely touch and if you wanted privacy you had it. The bed was comfortable and we never used the TV as we just wanted to relax. Every night there was a turn down service which was great. The breakfast was sublime with every choice you wanted. The evening bar with happy hour was amazing with the best cocktails and nibbles. Evening meal was a treat too. The beach was so clean and private and that is one of the reasons I chose Chen Sea. After our long trip we wanted to be left alone and relax and the staff made this happen. If you got up the staff were there before you know it and put the umbrella up as well as got your bed ready. The sea was so warm and clean and we loved having a paddle. The General Manager had drinks on the jetty one night which was so thoughtful as it made you talk to the other guests for a bit before you went for dinner. Again, I have to mention the staff as they did far more than you expected. My partner had a lovely massage and enjoyed every minute. I will return one day as this was a piece of heaven on an island.
I have come back to work after a wonderful stay at Chen Sea resort. The resort has a unique style that makes it stand out from the crowd. The rooms are well looked after. The staffs are very nice and kind, especially Ms. Mui at the reception. Thanks for all your efforts to make our stay unforgettable.
We stayed 3 nights here for my birthday. The restaurant's breakfast spread is fantastic with lots of keto-friendly options and I love that they have all these homemade sauces and jams. Appreciate the chef's effort to vary some of the buffet items though I would've loved to have a repeat of the avocado salad!! :-) The a la carte menu, though pricey, is good too. The resort's landscaped garden is very well-kept though some of the thatched roofs seem to need some major touch-ups. Perhaps they're waiting for the right time. One thing we didn't like is the fact that we can hear our neighbours. When they say connected sea view villas, I didn't expect that we could hear the neighbours even though they were not noisy or anything. I suppose there's nothing to be done here, it's just the way the villas have been built and the materials used. Fantastic initiative on the part of the resort to treat all guests to an evening cocktail (with non-alcoholic options) to watch the sunset. Much appreciated. It happened to be my birthday that day and one of the foreign team members had noticed it and wished me. We all want to feel special once in a while :-) Thank you. One thing that did strike us though is that in general the team there doesn't emanate happy vibes (we're on a holiday after all). A simple good morning will do but we find that we're always the ones initiating the greetings and sometimes only a smile is returned. Maybe it's the local culture. No biggie but just something that we noticed different from other places we have stayed at.
This hotel was perfect, we took beach front rooms and well worth the extra cost. all the facilities were great and the staff very attentive, as we came out of the sea the beach boy was waiting with a dry towel. The restaurant was a bit more expensive than other hotels we had stayed in but no complaints about the food. There were only 2points we did not like, when we asked for recommendations where to eat outside the hotel they were very unhelpful and the evening when the manager Olivier invited all the guests to a cocktail party, which was very pleasant he spent the whole time talking to one couple only and completely ignored the rest of the guests, strange!! And very unprofessional. But in the big picture not that important
Stayed for 5 nights with the kids( there is a connecting door option between rooms) and had an amazing time. This is a small resort with a fantastic location and great service and premises.. large and luxurious rooms , the breakfast is outstanding and the dinner option as well.. one of the best places we've been to! As a minor comment- i do admit that the dining option is overpriced in my opinion for Vietnamese standards( though as stated the taste and quality is great) but there are other nearby options to splve this
From the moment I stepped foot out of the hotel shuttle from the airport, I knew I had booked a great hotel! I booked the sea view villa during my stay here, which was the cheapest room. Honestly, I was very impressed. The room was so spacious and clean. I loved the outdoor bathtub and shower. On my last night, I just soaked in the tub listening the waves and ocean breeze. The breakfast buffet is huge! The make fresh omelettes and coffee every morning. The beach was nice and relatively clean. I will say they patrol the beach looking for trash and debris that floats in from other places. This is a regional issue (Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, etc.) and the resort does stay on top of it as much as possible. The pool is nice and you can go to the infinity edge and relax. The staff brings food and drinks to the pool and beach. Honestly, relaxing by the beach, with a book in one hand and a beer in the other was sublime. I took advantage of the spa and had two massages done. I believe it was like $49 for 1 hour and $67 for an hour and a half. Pretty much worth every single penny. The lady I booked both times was very nice and really got a lot knots out of my back. I have never done a beach resort type vacation before alone and I was concerned I would be bored and honestly, this was just what I needed. The sunsets were so beautiful and I met some nice guests from other countries that were really awesome too. Due to small number of villas you won't feel crowded. I hardly ran into people during the day. The restaurant food was pretty good, but as some people have said a little pricey compared to the island. However, I preferred to stay at the resort most of the time (I mean why else would you want to come if not to enjoy yourself at the resort). I cannot speak highly enough about my experience here. I would totally come back in a heart beat if I could!
Stayed here as part of a longer trip around Vietnam and absolutely loved it. From the pick-up at the airport (where cool lemongrass scented flannels were provided), though to check-out we were very well looked after. Room was superb - we had a beachfront villa - and the facilities all very good. Staff incredibly attentive but definitely not in an overbearing way. Breakfast was one of the best hotel buffet breakfast we’ve ever had (quote my wife!).
