Great Location, but Management and Maintenance Fell Short
The location of the house was great, and the home itself was clean and mostly well-kept. However, we did experience several issues during our stay that impacted the overall experience.The dining room was missing a chair, and while the property manager was responsive, he didn’t have the authority to resolve many of the problems without involving the owner—so unfortunately, some things remained unresolved. For example, the TV needed an update in order to use the apps, but it never got fixed during our stay.One of the more unpleasant surprises was discovering a rat in the pool. The property manager had to contact the owner to arrange removal, and we were told it could take a couple of days. In the meantime, we were left to deal with it ourselves.We had opted to pay the extra fee to heat the pool for two days, but were told the old heating system required 3 days to warm up. Even after explaining we only wanted it for two days, they declined to turn it on.In terms of supplies, we ran out of toilet paper and were asked to buy more ourselves (with reimbursement offered). The two propane tanks for the grill were also empty, and again, we had to go out and fill them. While we were reimbursed, it was disappointing to be running errands and solving maintenance problems during what was supposed to be a relaxing vacation—especially given the higher fees for the rental.Overall, while the house and location had potential, the lack of on-site support and the expectation that guest
