I am extremely impressed with the warm and sincere service of all the hotel staff, from the front desk to housekeeping. The housekeeping staff made an extra effort to neatly roll and tie up my many charging wires (with the hotel's own velcro tape) when I left the room in a hurry. Special commendation to Mr Hou (Senior Guest Relation)! The hotel provides each room with a welcome pack of Cambodian spice. I received mine but called the front desk to request if I could exchange mine (palm sugar) for kampot pepper instead. Mr Hou explained that the hotel had ran out of kampot pepper welcome pack. But he went the extra mile to buy a pack of kampot pepper and sent it to my room personally. It is really such a heart warming gesture. It had been a very memorable stay at the hotel.
We had two delightful nights here. Everything about the hotel was of the highest standard - gracious staff, welcome drink, fruit basket in the the room. Our bed was enormous - it would easily accommodate 4. The pool was a perfect temperature, and not at all busy. Staff told us about the mall next door - we don’t love shopping, so weren’t keen to visit initially, but glad we did. We had a tasty, economical Cambodian meal there, and enjoyed watching the locals. Quite a contrast to the Russian Market we had visited earlier in the day. Don’t miss the Phnom Penh noodle soup for breakfast - it was delicious! Be aware that roadworks mean that the transfer from the airport takes about an hour at the moment. No problem in the comfortable, air conditioned hotel car though.
We stayed for 3 nights and I must say we loved every bit of it. But one person I have to mention. It is Simon from the club lounge. He made us feel so special and welcome. He is really a gem. He really takes care of the guest with a lovely smile and nothing you ask is too much for him Simon thank you so very much for making our stay unforgettable
A sprawling, well located hotel with an amazing array of facilities and amenities. Definitely the standout hotel in Phnom Penh, it is safe and well staffed. The club lounge and standard breakfast are both fantastic and well stocked. Room was very spacious and modern and comfortable.
The Sofitel Phokeethra is a most outstanding hotel in Phnom Penh. All about it, from its attention to detail and warm guest care to its layout and welcoming atmosphere, exudes luxury and the highest level of hospitality. The entrance to the property and its lobby are an indication of the service guests are likely to receive. Guests are welcomed with cool face cloths and a delicious ginger tea and by friendly front of house managers. Checking is professional and speedy. Bedrooms are well appointed, very spacious with tasteful furniture and decor and a particularly large and comfortable bed. Our bedroom and bathroom were kept spotlessly clean and tidy and the turn down service provided was yet another indication of the high level of service we could expect at all times. Breakfast is also outstanding: quality and variety of the foods on offer is matched by the calm and relaxed environment. Waiting personnel are attentive but unobtrusive. The pool is heavenly, perfect temperature and, as it was scarcely frequented by other guests during our stay, we felt as if it was our own, private place. Again, here we were offered most welcomed chilled face cloths and cool orange segments. In contrast with the varied and plentiful offer for breakfast and at lunch times, the Club Millesime lounge is a bit of a let down. Good wines are not matched by the few, lacklustre warm snacks personally presented to guests as they arrive for evening drinks. The repetitive crudités, small amount and variety of cheeses and cold cuts do not reflect the quality fayre guests would be accustomed to expect in a hotel of this level. Moreover, due to the quantity on offer, items were quickly consumed by guests and most of them they did get replaced. Afternoon tea is another missed opportunity to match expectations created by the excellent breakfast and the high level of service in every other area of the hotel. Although delicious cakes, biscuits and chocolates complement freshly brewed tea, the lack of savoury items turn the advertised ‘Afternoon Tea’ tradition to a not-very-inviting activity. Non-club members, i.e. Afternoon Tea paying guests, receive a good assortment of both, sweet and savoury items. This disparity creates a poor impression on Club guests and should be seriously considered by managers as it strongly dents the feeling of ‘exclusiveness’ aimed. Despite the last two critical comments, we were very pleased by the friendly and positive attitude of the club ambassadors and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sofitel. We are certain to continue staying at Sofitel around the world but are unlike to recommend the Club Millesime lounge.
Stayed at the sofitel and was not disappointed. It was faultless, the room generous in size, clean and had air condition and a ceiling fan. The staff were beyond, so friendly, attentive, and helpful. The breakfast buffet was the best I have ever seen, anything you could ever imagine was there! from warm croissants, ice cream, egg station, asian dishes, fruit, cheeses it had everything. We also treated ourselves to a massage at the spa which was amazing, one of the best massages I've had. We also ate at the hotels Italian restaurant which was to die for, the food was immaculate and they are very generous. Overall it was an amazing experience, highly enjoyable
Moni (Front Desk) and Bora (Concierge) Thank you for much for everything you and team did to make my stay at your hotel so special and welcoming on your great hospitality. The food served at Hachi and La Coupole are simply fabulous. Special Thank you to Bora, I've engage the hotel service to go around the city and your fluency in English and attentive service making me feel safe in Phnom Penh. I am looking forward for my next stay..
Nice bar with excellent service, many thanks to Mara, Mom and Chen 😃 Good variety of drinks and nice live band music Monday to Friday 6-10pm. This time I didn't stay at the hotel, but I highly recommend that too.
It has the best maintenance possible. Its shining cleanness catches attention. The gardens are manicured. The building is Feng Shui. I feel it. The large Executive lounge has a beautiful view day and night and the happy hour is particularely rich and good.I appreciated the kind and Cambodian smily welcome of Miss Janine Taylor and M Maurice Baumen. The general manager was invisible, certainly busy with the perfect maintenance and service of the hotel. He is he only General Manager I didn't see during my various Accor stays. I tried the excellent International kitchen restaurant and the outstanding Japanese one. They are expensive for the local levels but not shocking considering the quality.. The hotel is away from the interest points like the Palace or the spectacular National Museum. Therefore, I appreciated its calm. The transportation to/from the airport with the hotel cars is USD 70.- when a taxi is at USD 15.-. The 2 gentlemen (one very slim particularly efficient) of the concierge service were very helpful and had excellent suggestions. The service, despite the sometimes poor language knowledge, is excellent at any level. This luxurious hotel has the best rate/return ratio I have ever seen. Perfect luxury at mid-range rates!Strongly recommended for a Phnom Penh stay.
Our first impression of the Sofitel chain in PP was good as the hotel’s driver who picked us up from the airport was very helpful by waiting for us to sort out local SIM cards as soon as we met him. On arrival at the hotel we were greeted by very friendly and helpful staff who went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The rooms we were allocated were very clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was included during our stay and the food served was excellent in quality, quantity and variety. We had afternoon tea at the Club Millesime on the 12th floor where there is a beautiful selection of food, the enjoyment of which is enhanced by the panoramic views of the city. The concierge and other reception staff gave us plenty of useful information on local sights to visit and how to get there, making some very good alternate suggestions to some of our not so bright ideas. They also made any bookings for us to make our stay more enjoyable. We would happily recommend this hotel to anyone visiting PP.
