I have visited this hotel twice and always have a good experience with very friendly staff and outstanding service. The location of the hotel is very good and it is very near city-center and tourist attractions. Amarin Lagoon is probably the only choice we think of hotel in Phitsanulok. We will definitely visit this hotel again. Thank you for your best services provided to us. See you soon.
When I stepped in, the three front desk agents looked at me, smiled and greeted with a wai (Thai style sawadee ). Well this incredible simple gesture made my day! Yes, the building needs renovation, but the service is excellent. Booking was easy and the staff did the very best to accommodate as requested. Everyone of the property , and I mean each and every, smiles at you. For dinner, we had a nice Thai soup called TomKaKay and spaghetti cheese for the kid, which he ate in no time. The room is spacious, with fresh flowers and complimentary drinks. There's a spa, where you can enjoy a traditional Thai massage and a very big pool. Plenty of parking and a wide garden. The Breakfast buffet provides a big variety of Thai and international cuisine, omelet and fresh bread are my favorite. See you next time Amarin!
I knew the hotel is old but I like their pool and low room rate so I still booked. I am happy with my stay. The gentleman Reception greeted us with a smile and we quickly got our room key. We got a Deluxe with pool view for 34 USD with buffet breakfast. Room was huge with a bathtub, 2 bathrobes, basic toiletries except toothbrush set. I have no problem as I always bring mine. Very clean and new wall tiles in the bathroom. Almost brand new shower curtain. New bedsheets. Powerful shower. As in any old hotel, they didn't have enough sockets so we charged our phones in the bathroom, boiled water in the bathroom and unplugged the minibar to charge another phone. The socket for TV and 2 more sockets near the window didn't work. The garden side of the nice and large pool was always wet since the pool water overflew. The old style sand paving with smooth tiles among them looks good but slippery when wet. Nice garden. With such a low room rate, the buffet breakfast is good enough for me. Super fast check out. The lady just took the key, smiled and wai to thank.
Stayed here recently as part of a Cosmos tour. This hotel was located in Phitsanulok but it was really in a remote area. The rooms, while spacious, felt dated and old and not very well lit. No in-room safe deposit box. An electrical panel by the night table controls all the lights in the room. There were 2 free bottles of water, Wi-Fi, two single beds, separate sitting area, tv (with bad reception), robes and hair dryer. The bathroom wasn't very well lit, had basic toiletries, was a good size with plenty of sink counter space and a tub. The bath towels are threadbare. There is a fridge in the room with coffee/tea amenities. We were assigned rooms 648 and 649 across the hall from each other with similar room layouts. I could only access one spare outlet to charge my camera battery and cell phone. The included breakfast was a in the large hotel dining room and though looked like a lot of things to eat, I felt didn't offer a lot of good choices. The French toast I thought was pretty good and the coffee machine offered more than just the espresso option, which was nice. There is a Tesco Lotus you could see from the window in room 649 (facing the back). Due to rain, our rickshaw excursion was cancelled for the night. So once the rain stopped, we walked to the shopping area where the Tesco Lotus was. The walk took us 30 minutes as it was 3 km away. We could've taken a taxi but I suppose I wanted to stretch my legs. The walk was through sections of a large road with limited sidewalk. And because of the recent rain, parts of the street where we could walk on was flooded so it made the walk slow. Too bad the hotel did not provide a shuttle like the Kantary we stayed at in Ayutthaya.
When first built, this Hotel with its lovely gardens & pool area would have been the best Hotel in Town. Sadly over the years the buildings have not been maintained & the carpet in hallways & rooms are old, frayed & dirty. Elevator buttons have been broken for some time, leaving electrical wires exposed. My room had large windows looking out over the fields giving me wounderful view of the fields & hills. Although a large room, the carpet was dirty, frayed & the floor very old & damaged. The tiled area in bathroom had been badly repaired & doors need painting. At breakfast, I tried several cooked dishes ALL OF THEM WERE COLD!!! The serving staff are not interested in any interaction with you & keep their distance. This Hotel is big, quiet & out of the way, there were no taxies waiting for customers & l had to walk some distance to find one. With money spent, this could be a Grand Hotel once more.... Sadly it's looking tired.
We stayed one night here,it's a hotel needing an upgrade.Only one lift in the main lobby was working, although another two further along are available (notice went up regarding this later). The tv and some lights are controlled by a consul unit, which is fine if you realise this! The bathroom has a two inch drop from the main lounge which is a bit dangerous if you're not careful. The breakfast was disappointing,no bacon, some items cold, poor selection. The staff were helpful and friendly in general.
First of all, I do not understand at all some bad reviews here. Visitors get a spacious room with an amazing view to the landscape (you can see the buffalos :-), good fitness room and big swimming pool, easy to park, big breakfast for an unbeatable price! The "bad" reviewers here falsely expect a 5-star hotel, but want only to pay USD 25. These people should feel ashamed. We used the Spa (foot massage was very nice by experieced therapist). We (Journalist and thai wife from Phitsanulok) can highly recommend this hotel!
Stayed at this hotel as part of a tour through Thailand. We arrived late in the afternoon and left early in the morning so didn't have any time to make use of the pool. Our evening food was a set meal and this was ok although the chicken was a bit on the tough side. As the dining area was not busy our group stayed at the table having a drink afterwards; the bar prices were reasonable. The staff serving us were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fairly basic with the eggs being prepared beforehand and left to go rubbery on a hotplate. Maybe later on, when more guests arrived, the egg station would be staffed and eggs cooked to order. There was no bacon available. The rooms were basic and lacked tea making facilities. The lack of a proper desk and adjustable seat is inconvenient for anyone who wants to type at a keyboard. On the plus side the bed was fine with a decent mattress giving a good night's sleep. Overall the hotel looked tired and in need of refurbishment.
Hotel not near any facilities but set in large grounds with a wonderful swimming pool, sadly we were too late to use it. Rooms clean and large. We ate at the hotel, but restaurant staff clearly different from other hotels we had been to, quite surly and not at all welcoming, we never saw a smile from anyone which is a strange being in the Land of Smiles. Food basic not too expensive. Breakfast was again basic but enough, the best bit was the pool so arrive early to enjoy it!
We stayed at this resort for two nights as a rest from out trip as independent travellers. Our room was spacious and we encountered no problems with it .The pool area is lovely and we enjoyed several hours one afternoon in the pool.Again a distinct lack of interest from the Lagoon cafe staff with regard to providing a service .There are no menu cards on the poolside tables to offer small bites and drinks .We had to go in to find someone to order drinks and a sandwich. There is plenty of staff ,just not working ,more concerned with their mobile phones. We did not have dinner there ,but breakfast is not a pleasant experience ,poorly prepared salads ,abandoned egg station ,no smiles from the staff ,just surly service when asked for anything .The food and beverage manager needs to up his game and engage his staff. On the plus side we did use the hotel transport which was the same price as a taxi into town and came back to pick us up and the driver was very pleasant and helpful.
