Ramada Khao Lak Resort

A pleasant mid level hotel, showing a little wear and tear, but perfectly acceptable for the price. Breakfast buffet was OK and the free flowing cappuccino a bonus, but dishes available were fairly bland and unchanging. Some unfortunate smells emanated from service areas, but rooms were very clean and neat. Beds were HARD and uncomfortable, but optional pillow-top for mattress did improve things. Did not indulge in hotel spa or restaurant (other than included breakfast) as services outside the hotel were consistently half to quarter the price.

Everything at The Ramada, Khao Lak, is lovely, Staff are helpful and friendly - all speak at least some English, so communication is no problem. Internet signal is trong and reliable. Daily buffet breakfast had plenty of variety and the coffee was great. Food and Drink at Sassi's is very reasonably priced and great quality. We very much enjoyed working through the cocktail menu at Happy Hour. The Resort is located close to shopping and restaurants. This is my second stay and I'll definitely be back!

We were warmly greeted by Millie who could see we were rather tired and although we were early for check in by a few hours, they provided us with everything we needed. We received an upgrade on the room and were settled in smoothly. The room was lovely with comfortable beds and good amenities. As always, a sparsity of coat-hangers (what is it with hotels and coat-hangers?) but a working safe and a pretty bathroom/wet-room. The water pressure is rather weak however, so showering is a gentle rather than invigorating experience. The air con can be a bit aggressive and a little on the loud side, but nothing to get too excited about. One mention to the hotel's free wi-fi service - very good. Coverage everywhere I went and at a decent speed too (>10mbps) at all times. The rooms include two umbrellas with your room number on them, meaning if you get the traditional downpour, you can use the umbrellas to get around and know you can get yours back. Even if another guest is too lazy to retrieve their own brolly and takes yours, you will find yours returned to your room as if by magic within a few hours. The layout is peaceful and right on the beach. Due to the time of year, we certainly never had any issue accessing a lounger either poolside or on the beach. The beach is clean and tidy and has a nice swooping view of the bay. The pool is spacious and pleasant and no more than 1.5m deep anywhere, with the added bonus of an adjacent toddlers' pool, and a jacuzzi pool, the latter of which proved an ideal training ground for our son who learnt to swim on this trip. The breakfast is very good. Nice, attentive staff (you may wish to order coffee from the mellow bean rather than the pot-served stuff as this is a little bland) and a good range of breakfast foods, all done well. Certainly the breakfast here was far superior to that which we received at the allegedly superior Avista Hideaway on the latter part of our trip. The food served elsewhere in the hotel was all very good and, presumably due to the proximity of local restaurants, at local prices. The location of the hotel puts you within a 10 minute amble of dozens of restaurants, many of which are excellent. If you want to relax on holiday and casually stroll to a new restaurant every night without the need for taxis etc, then this hotel is ideally located. You also have access to a number of shops, pharmacies, off-licences, tailors and shops. Don't make the mistake we did of assuming you would find the same things here in places like Patong and cheaper - you won't! See it, like it? Buy it! The staff were all very friendly, especially with our son. However, due to the season, the kid's club was bereft of children to make it worthwhile. Despite this, they still ran two activities each day (10-11 and 3-4) and even though our boy was the only person at times, they still gave him the attention and he enjoyed his time with them. This of course meant that mummy and daddy had two opportunities a day for peace, reading by the pool or wandering down the road for an hour's massage at 300-500THB - luxury! If we were returning to Khao Lak, I don't think we would be likely to look anywhere else than here. Congratulations to the management and all the staff there for making it a very pleasurable stay.

Decided to stay at Khao lak for a couple of nights to relax, looked round from online reviews and found that the Ramada was a great place to stay if you just want to relax. We stayed in the pool villa which offered a large sized bathroom and living/bedroom. the having been fitted with a smart TV is a great idea, i was able to connect my iphone to TV and listen to my own music whilst in the pool. The private pool itself compared to other hotel is a decent size not being too small, would have been nice if it was temperature controlled in case anyone wanted to swim during the night. The main pool was very large and offers a semi infinity view out over the sea which is nice. The breakfast was from my point of view was ok the variety of hot dishes is a bit on the low side but the option in the way of pastries and fresh salad would make up for it. The idea of ordering an item from the a la carte menu was a nice touch if only there was a larger selection to choose from. The level of service from the FB staff were impeccable constantly checking up on you if you needed any coffee or tea clearing plates immediately wonderful service from the servers. Ordered room service a couple times, a few items that we tried to order were unavailable to which they apologized for, they then when a step further and offered an alternative which is a great thing to do when you mind is focused on the one item. overall had a great stay, overall service i would say was perfect very polite and attentive staff. will definitely return again

From the moment we were met at Pukhet airport (we pre-booked a transfer) to the moment we checked out, the standard of service was excellent. We stayed three nights in a standard room which was large, clean and well appointed. The hotel has direct access to a lovely beach. A great way to start our trip.

Had a great time at Khao Lak with friends. The resort was nice and close to the the beach and very well situated away from the crowds but close enough you can walk every where. It was undergoing some maintenance during our stay but this did not impact on our stay. The staff are extremely nice and attentive. All in all a nice play to stay. Thanks Ramada.

One of the first things you'll notice from the design of the hotel is you have an ocean view from almost every location. The hotel is designed so you never see anything but green areas, the pool or the ocean! It is located on the quieter side of Khao Lak so it is great place to bring your significant other. We stayed in the Ocean Front Villa which was spectacular, quiet, secluded with fantastic views. Very friendly, thoughtful and accommodating staff. Fantastic breakfast (one of the best resort breakfast's I've had) and a super comfortable bed. It was the rainy season so the ocean was a bit rough, but won't stop you from swimming in a great pool. Lots to explore in Khao Lak and the staff is ready with recommendations.

Staff right from the start of our 3 night stay were amazing. Welcome with cold face cloth and cold drink was show to our room by Millie who could not have been more helpfull We stayed in a private pool villa and it was clean and beautiful, breakfast was great would definitely recommend

Beautiful resort by the beach. Very close to restaurants and shopping. Very nice and welcoming staff, the pool-bar staff were just perfect! Very good food and beverage menu but a little more expensive than outside the resort. The resort is a little bit worn-down but they are doing renovation this summer, also perfectly done so they did not make any noise. Large and clean rooms but the bathroom were a little bit dirty. Maybe it just was our room and it did not bother us anyway. Perfect wifi, all over the resort, even at the beach.

The Ramada is a big budget hotel in the style of big European or Australian hotels and as such we tend to not frequent them, choosing more Thai inspired places. Having said that the Ramada has many positives: The staff were excellent especially the breakfast workers and the pool bar guys and girl (whose name was "Boom Boom"). The bar staff in particular were great sports and won us over with their friendliness and good humour. The pool was great with plenty of chairs for all. Grounds were spacious and well cared for. Our room was large with a great bed and a really cold aircon. The room had all we needed to wind down after a big day. The hotel offers plenty of activities and has a good coffee shop as well. Now a couple of other observations. Breakfast was very good but surprisingly offered very little in the way of Thai fare. Why? The deck areas and some structural parts of the hotel were quite worn and in need of maintainance. You can get a reasonable lunch or dinner at the Ramada, but you will pay way more than if you wander up the street to the many restaurants on offer. Beer is also very expensive at the Ramada so again, stock up outside. You can also get a massage at the Ramada but it will be three times the price of one up the street. Don't get me wrong we enjoyed our stay at the Ramada and the staff were top notch. So if you like that BIG anglo hotel that feels like you haven't left home then this hotel is for you. It's your holiday Ralph! Cheers, Zac.
