It is hard to add anything not mentioned by other reviewers but here goes. We arrived at the hotel quite early at just after 9am and fearing a long wait for our room were told it would be ready in 15 minutes. However we booked a room with 2 kingsize beds and were given a room with a huge double bed and a small child sized bed. After visiting reception we were told there were no double bed rooms available for the length of our stay. Being unhappy, as our 30 year old daughter was with us, I emailed the reservations manager and said that the room given us was unacceptable and that we were unhappy as we had booked 12 months ago. I am glad to say that we were quickly contacted and offered an upgraded room, at no additional cost, with 2 double beds, which we are glad to say met our needs very well. What had started out as an unhappy beginning to our holiday quickly brightened up. We have to say that the most outstanding feature of this hotel were its staff. We found them all, without exception, to be polite, courteous and helpful at all times. It is the first time we have stayed at the Ramada Khao Lak, having previously stayed at the neighbouring La Flora and Le Vela and we all agreed that the hotel was comfortable and relaxing and we are most certainly looking to return next April, subject to what deals are on offer. Our room was kept spotless by Pu, our room maid and we found its size just right. We used the pillow menu and also requested the mattress topper as we found the mattress a little too hard for us. The shower always had lots of hot water and the free standing bath was good too. Although we didn't watch much TV there were enough English channels. The aircon was nice and cold, although we found it too warm some nights and had to turn it down a little. One main thing about our room was it always seemed very quiet, other than the night time insects in the woods outside. Breakfast, as mentioned by many reviewers is nice and cannot be faulted; eggs anyway you want them, including Thai omelettes, nice bread, cereals, cold meats and cheeses, noodles, tasty bacon etc, and the cappuccino's are lovely. We found that most times the no reserving sun beds and going to breakfast rule worked, however we did notice it was flouted, and on many mornings the front row of beds were taken by the same people who then went for breakfast. Is this a case of some people being more equal? We never ate in the hotel as we like to venture out in an evening, this being a huge part of our holiday, so we cannot comment other than to say food prices were not much more expensive than street restaurants. My daughter however had snacks for lunch which were cooked near the pool and she enjoyed them greatly. We thought the happy hour a little strange in that most items were buy one get one free but beer had to be purchased in buckets of 3 or 6, which doesn't quite work with 2 people. To sum up the Ramada Khao Lak we liked it very much and after out initial hiccup we had a great stay and were sorry to leave.
We were a family of two kids and four adults. We loved the stay and the service at the hotell is absolutely fantastic. The restaurant have all you need and the food is great. The rooms are clean and fresh. The hotel have a great location.
Lovely hotel. Very friendly courteous staff, always smiling. Nice big rooms and bathroom. Nice turndown service around 6pm daily with a sweet treat and quote of the day. Very good breakfast with egg station. If you prefer fresh coffee ask for one out of the mellow bean cafe as the breakfast room filtered coffee isn’t great. Pool & beach area all clean & well maintained. Ate in hotel Sassi’s restaurant for lunch & dinner once, it was „ok“... we ate Better quality food for less money in places not far outside of the hotel. It’s a peaceful place, so if you are needing a little nightlife/ people watching it’s easy to walk to many neighouring bars etc. As some other reviews mention, the place is in need of an upgrade (which is planned for 2018). Rooms with large balconies lack seating/ table. Which is a shame because it would have been nice to sit & enjoy the view with a drink etc. Overall great stay. Highly recommend.
Greeting by Millie upon arrival was friendly, informative and courteous. Given free upgrade to a jacuzzi room. Lighting could have been better in room but otherwise facilities and room service were excellent. Hotel went extra mile with refreshing watermelon handed out daily, gifts of sweets/biscuits and a saying each night, sunbeds/umbrellas made up and adjusted throughout the day, cold face towels provided when having drinks or food etc. Service was always attentive and with a genuine smile and nothing was too much trouble. Hotel grounds pleasing in the eye and well maintained and the hotel location was just 3-5 mins walk to a busy side street full of restaurants and bars etc. All of which were very good. However the food in (Ramada’s) Sassi Beach Restaurant was worthy of its 7th rating in the whole of Khao Lak. Pool was a good size for swimming and just the right depth all round. Sunbeds were plentiful and cannot be reserved! Whilst a plug in mossie repellent is provided in room, bring your own spray as it was a bit of a problem for us when out in the evening. Beach was lovely but take your flip flops if going for a long walk as sand gets very hot, when you have to come away from waters edge. Clientele was predominantly Germans, so no good for chatting to fellow holiday makers but they were always polite and a middle aged quiet bunch, which suited us nicely. Also all signs and the Thai people converse only in English. Treatment in spa was very good, and the use of the shower room on last day useful. Great value for money an we cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.
Amazing staff , amazing food , beautiful location, people here are very friendly and can not do enough for you . Every need is taken care of inno time , I am 100 % Conon back to this hotel later this yeat with all my family . Keep up the good work guys .
We stayed at the Ramada Resort, Khao Lak, for 11 nights in February 2018. This was a very good hotel, with some of the nicest staff we have come across, which made the holiday all the more enjoyable. We stayed in a Deluxe Jacuzzi room, which was nice and spacious and kept spotless throughout our stay. We had a complimentary bowl of fruit on arrival, four complimentary bottles of water each day - two in the morning and two in the evening with the turn down service, and the WiFi was good both in the room and around the resort. There was a good choice of food for breakfast with really good service. The coffee shop, Mellow Bean, served nice coffee, had a selection of sandwiches and impressive looking cup-cakes! We ate dinner at local restaurants most days aside from two when we ate at Sassi’s. Both times the food and service was excellent. There were plenty of sunbeds with a rule that you cannot reserve them and then go to breakfast. Credit to the hotel for having this and enforcing it. There is a good gym with two treadmills, a bike, cross trainer and weights. There are many restaurants within 10 minutes’ walk. We tried, Joy Restaurant & Bar (the road at the back of Joe’s Kitchen), Thai Corner, Pinocchio, Joe’s Kitchen. We highly recommend Joy’s. It was a small family run restaurant. The atmosphere was very relaxed. Food was really tasty and good value (cheaper than the other restaurants and better food). We also liked Joe’s Kitchen. The other restaurants were ok but seemed to want to rush you out. The hotel provides a complimentary shuttle bus to the Sea Turtle Conservation Centre. The entry fee is 60 Baht per person. There are turtles at all stages of development and you can feed them for a small fee. There is also a very nice coffee shop. You only need around 60-90 mins but it was a very enjoyable trip. We asked the driver to drop us at the tsunami memorial on the way back (about a 15 min walk from the hotel). This is also opposite the night market which is open on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. Overall, we had a lovey stay and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel.
This hotel could so easily go to a 4, nice position on beach, lovely room, cleanish but lacked little things like buffing of the taps., room could do with a little more lighting. And the partitioning doors for the bathroom we could not close but not a problem for us as we left open. Lots of the beach towels had a reddish stain on. Food menu was restrictive, and special buffet nights, was same food but more expensive, room service menu was exactly the same, Generally, staff were really helpful and friendly.
Really enjoyed our 5 night stay here. Rooms were spacious with gorgeous bathrooms and comfy Best, even a pillow menu. Loved the evening service when we received a little treat and additional bottles of water. Breakfast was excellent, cannot think of anything that should be added! Full range of pastries, cheese, meats, egg station, hot breakfast, Asian breakfast, cereal, yoghurt, nuts and as much tea/coffee as you can drink! Staff were on the ball and very friendly. Hotel is in a great location, walking distance to many bars and restaurants. We also booked 2 trips via the tour operator at the hotel at good prices Had a lovely lunch at Sassi's beachside restaurant. Only comment is that the bar prices are very high which I am sure drives people out to the local shops and bars. Not a bad thing, it helps the local economy! Recommend this hotel and would happily stay again.
We returned to the Ramada this January based on good memories of staying at the Ramada in 2016 and particularly enjoying the beach villa, pool and high service level. Our 2018 visit was equally pleasant. The beach villa was comfortable and clean with wonderful sunsets; the large pool was ideal for my lap swimming and the service in our room and at the pool/beach areas was excellent. Attendants took care to set up lounge seats and umbrellas and to move the umbrellas during the day with the passing sun. We enjoyed the close, walking proximity, to a variety of restaurants
The Ramada is a very nice hotel with friendly staff. Our room was a renovated Deluxe Oasis (near the pool - nice and quiet at night), and it was a good size with plenty of space for 2 large suitcases. The room itself was OK, as was the bathroom, but I certainly wouldn't describe it as anything special. Having said that, of the 4 hotels we stayed in on our stay in Thailand, it was the only one where the A/C worked as it should! 2 umbrellas were provided in the room, which were most definitely required as it rained heavily most afternoons (for a few hours) we were there (January). Breakfast was buffet style and was very good with plenty of options. You could also sit outside if you wanted to. It is right on the beach with plenty of sunbeds where reserving is not allowed, and it appeared enforced, which makes a nice change. The staff who helped with the sunbeds were extremely friendly and helpful, and ensured the parasol was correctly positioned to block out the sun (if requested). The pool looked big and decent, although we never actually used that. The bar area next to the beach was OK, but nothing special. It also doubled up as the restaurant in the evening, but we didn't try that. It is a short walk (less than 5 minutes) to plenty of restaurants/bars and several money exchanges/ATMs. There are also a couple of taxi pick up points (Songthaews) in this area to if you want to go further afield.
