PERFECT, Totally amazing to find on the way to Everest an establishment like the Yeti. The rooms are perfect, the food is delicious and the staff is extremely kind. Thanks a lot
Bei Ankunft, obwohl kaum Gäste im Haus und wir (2 Individualreisende, keine Low-Budget-Touristen), sehr "wortkarger", schleppender Emfang: Rezeption nicht besetzt, erst nach mehrmaligem Sich-Bemerkbar-Machen kam jemand aus der Küche. Zimmer definitiv für die Gegend erstklassig, aber völlig überteuert. Das Abendessen sollte dann 30 Dollar kosten, in benachbarten Lodges (auch wenn dort der Standard natürlich insgesamt niedriger ist) gibt es ordentliches Essen für 8 Dollar, in einfacheren Lodges sogar noch erheblich billiger. Die Buchung Im Yeti Mountain Home erfolgte aus dem Grund, weil in der Hauptsaison Unterkünfte in Phakding öfter knapp sein sollen und wir für die erste Nacht unseres Treks eine 100-prozentig sichere Übernachtung haben wollten. Das haben wir erreicht, allerdings eben überteuert (es hätte jede Menge günstigere Alternativen gegeben). Gerade zu ein schlechter Witz war dann, dass das Haupttor gegen 20:30 Uhr, als wir vom auswärtigen Abendessen zurückkamen, abgeschlossen war, und einer von uns - zumal es keine Glocke oder ähnliches gab - über eine an der Oberseite mit Nägeln gesicherte Mauer klettern musste (nicht ganz ungefährlich gewesen). Das Verriegeln der Anlage zu einer absurden Tageszeit (am frühen Abend) war uns gegenüber nicht bekannt gemacht worden, selbst nicht als wir beim Verlassen des Hotels auf unserer auswärtiges Abendessen hingewiesen hatten.
