My family and I stayed in a 2 BR unit for a full week in June. The resort was perfect for us to explore northern Michigan. The swimming pool was great too. Our room was spacious and clean. We had no issues. The free movie rental at the front desk is also a great benefit.
One bed studio on the first floor. Had full kitchen with everything you to cook. Has linen and towels in the apt. Small patio with two chairs and table. The washer and dryer is in the hallway and you share it with the other unit.
Great place to stay. The condo are well equipped with everything you need,I enjoyed the hot tub in the bathroom. They have hot tubs at check it building.Have daily paper, and you look at the ski slopes out of the sliding doors,we sat on the balcony and enjoy the weather.I would recommend this place.
We stayed here for only one night on Easter Sunday. The place is nice, clean, accommodating, and all the staff were very friendly. The bed was really comfortable, we had the King Suite. We appreciated that staff did talk about the timeshare options, but were not persistent. Coffee is available in the lobby, but no breakfast options because you have a kitchen in your unit. However, there are plenty of options around the area to eat out. We would stay here again.
This Bluegreen resort is as high quality as any of their other resorts. It's very clean, and even smells clean. There's been a lot of places I visited that looked clean, but smell musty or old, but this resort even smells clean. I particularly like the fact that the rooms are smoke-free. It's very comfortable. The furniture is wonderful, and the bed was amazing! This might seem odd, but they even have various types of pillows on the bed from firm to soft. This attention to detail shows throughout the rooms, even the quality of the dishes and silverware. It's very quiet. It was wonderful waking up in the morning, stepping out onto the balcony, and hearing the birds chirping away, but no traffic, city noises, etc. The rooms must be well insulated because even from inside the room, you don't hear a lot of outside noise. It's a very peaceful place. Just stating a fact, this is not a criticism, but the rooms have no elevator, so if you are on the second floor, you'll be carrying everything up a staircase. The only minor criticism I would have is if you are on the second floor, the trash area is at the base of the stairs, and the stairwell smelled of spoiled garbage.
We spent the first weekend of March in a 2 bedroom unit. I can honestly say that we did not have one negative instance during our entire stay at Boyne. From the call to confirm our reservation, to check in, shuttle services and all of the activities on the resort-every interaction was positive and professional. We went into the weekend with no real goals or expectations and I have to say-we had a fabulous time! There is something about a resort destination that offers such a range of activities that makes for a perfect weekend getaway. Highlights include the beginner ski hill (we have now added three family members to the ranks!!), the snow tubing, cross country ski trails, pizza place, rapid shuttle service and outdoor pool. We are already planning our next trip!
I've seen tiny homes larger than this. I came in expecting a soaking tub at minimum and a king bed. The tub is so small I can't even relax in it if I wanted too. The bedroom has a queen sized bed in it and it nearly touches all 4 walls. No nightstand on one side of the bed. The dresser is small and only holds one person's clothing. (We pack light too) the kitchen has NO counter top space to cook with. There is not an actual oven. The couch faces a wall and to the right is a little TV. You can hear Eveything through the walls. I still have 4 days left here and am tempted to rent a room in the next city over. There isn't black out curtains in the bedroom and it has 3 windows. No such thing as sleeping in if you are sensitive to light. I personally have to have a dark room or I am wide awake.
We spent President's week at Mountain Run because we wanted to go skiing at Boyne Mountain. The resort is very close by. The ski arena has a shuttle running about every 30 min. We stayed in a Two-bedroom- unit, house 22, first floor. Our unit's balcony faced away from the parking lot but instead to the road. The noise level from the street was ok. The apartment has not been renovated yet but was clean and everything was well kept. For us the only annoying thing were the old (but clean) appliances. The fridge was so loud that I couldn't sleep, the dishwasher was loud, you had to leave the room to have an conversation. The heating/AC unit was so loud that it woke us up whenever it started to run. Otherwise the unit was very well equipped . There is an extra storage room outside of the apartment to store skis and boots which is very convenient. There is also a washing machine and a dryer (share with one other unit) which comes in very handy to dry all the wet ski clothes. The check in process was very friendly and fast. We had to exchange the coffee machine and needed some coffee filters. No problem, the new machine arrived before we could return to our unit. We didn't use the clubhouse and the other amenities so I cannot say anything about it. We heard that they are planning several new units which would enable to ski in/ski out. That would be awesome.
As time shares go we found the Bluegreen Resort to be a clean, well kept property with very few amenities, nothing fancy here. The onsite whirlpool is indoor and the jets need some attention. The workout room is small but adequate. The staff is very friendly; the staff is the strength of the resort. The televisions are small. The fireplace is nice. The linens are simple. There were no luggage racks provided. If guests want to get in their car and drive a mile up the road you do have access to the spa, whirlpool and swimming pool at the next resort. For us the inconvenience was a stopper. The thing we did not like about the rooms was that we either had to sacrifice all privacy or keep the heavy drapes shut because the parking and sidewalk are just on the other side of the windows. The rooms are very dark with the drapes shut. A simple sheer on the windows would make these much nicer rooms.
Excellent place to stay alot to do at the resort, zip line, bond fire with treats, nice selection of small independent stores on site. Food is great and not too bad on your pocket book. The resort is also a ski lodge during the snow season so plenty of slopes to go down on from bunny to experience level. If you like to go to the casino they have a shuttle that picks you up at the main lodge.
