About this property
Idyllic Tuscan hillside farmhouse
Authentic totally private Tuscan hillside farmhouse. Secluded rural setting with panoramic views of stunning countryside. Located just 40 minutes drive from Pisa and Florence, and 10 minutes drive from the beautiful market town of Pescia with its variety of restaurants, supermarkets and attractions. Just 5 minutes away is a stunning public access outdoor hotel pool with all amenities.
A beautiful home from home, several hundred years old, with all the facilities needed for a wonderful relaxing and comfortable stay for couples, families and groups.
The space
La Querce, translating into ‘The Oaks’ is a idyllic Tuscan farmhouse hideaway, named after the hill on which is stands some 800 feet above sea level in the stunning foothills of Northern Tuscany.
La Querce has accommodation for up to 6 (or 8 people including a sofa bed). It is arranged as 2 double bedrooms, a master with ensuite shower, a second double bedroom and a twin room - which as a walk through is ideally suited for children. There is also a double sofa bed in the living room.
Downstairs is a second bathroom, kitchen/diner and living room. Dual access from the front of the house leads on to the main eating (dining table for 8 under vines), lemon sun terraces with its sun loungers, and coffee terrace - all with commanding views south over the valley floor beneath out into northern Tuscany, and to the north deeper into the valley, with many of the medieval hilltop villages ‘Dieci Castelli’ in view.
The farmhouse is fully equipped, including dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, Wi-fi/Bluetooth surround-sound music and satellite Wi-fi (metered). 3G and 4G mobile reception is generally available around the house.
In front and to the side of the farmhouse are terraced olive groves, and to the rear a significant area of untouched woodland, making a fabulous area for walking and exploring outdoors. Parking for a number of cars. Beyond La Querce, many leisure activities suitable for all ages exist (including swimming at a country club, drive time approx 20mins), whilst the stunning Italian coastline at Viareggio is under a 60 minute drive to the West.
La Querce makes a perfect base to rest and explore Tuscany, whether you are seeking a seemingly remote hideaway or a base for exploration of stunning Northern Italy.

Relaxing stay in La Querce
Beautiful rustic home with fantastic views. It’s well equipped and Stuart was really helpful. We enjoyed the peace, the hilltop villages and took a train trip to Florence and drives to Viareggio, San Gimignano and Volterra. Great local food and restaurants.

Peaceful Getaway
My husband and I were recently traveling through Italy with another couple for 2 weeks. We stayed at La Querce for 4 nights which was the absolute perfect place to relax and unwind after 4 crazy, action packed days in Rome.
Prior to our arrival, Tom (the host) was unbelievably helpful and responsive, providing us with detailed directions to the property, restaurant suggestions, instructions for our stay, and ideas for touring around the area.
The property itself is beautiful, set into the side of a hill with breathtaking views high above Pescia. Although the villa is hundreds of years old, it had all of the necessities (i.e, gas cooking range, great bedding, good plumbing, washer / dryer) that a modern house would have. Out favorite parts were the outdoor patios - one with a long table perfect for al fresco dining and the other with 2 lounge chairs to soak up the sun. We enjoyed the patios at night as well with a glass (or 2) of great wine, gazing at the stars and watching the fireflies float around us. It was truly idyllic.
Stuart, the house manger was there to greet us when we arrived and was extremely helpful throughout our stay. He was able to accommodate a couple of last minute requests and checked in daily to make sure we had everything that we needed.
All in all we couldn't have asked for a better experience and hope to return one day in the not too distant future!

Lovely House
The house was lovely and rustic, the only downside for us was that there was only one fan and a fan in each room would of been great as it was very hot , The areas around the house was lovely and the walk at the back of house was great. I would recommend the house to friends but would ask for more fans as no air con. Thanks again . Karen

Getaway from the tourist crowd
We stayed here for a month. Weather aside, which we were told was extremely unusually rainy, we had a fantastic time. The house is incredible and the area is so beautiful. It doesn’t feel touristy at all which you will really appreciate of you visit Siena or Florence where all the tour groups go. Our Italian is pretty limited but everyone was so nice. Loved staying here and the property owner and manager are awesome.

Great property
This is a beautiful house, lovingly thought through, fresh lemons growing on the terrace, owls calling and stars at night and every comfort, from beds to cooking equipment and sun loungers. Some fine walks above the house to the hilltop villages, walks in high pasture a little beyond and an interesting history of paper making in the valleys around . Many thanks to Tom for efficiency and warmth.

Perfect place for a real Italian retreat. Lovely suroundings, quiet and still easy to visit charming cities and enjoy tasty food and nice Italian wine.
We were 5 persons and had a lovely week. We made walks to nearby old village. Florens, Lucca and Pisa are close by car. The house however brings you most joy of all - so much charm that you want to stay for ever. A fantastic panoramic view while having our breakfast.
Helpful owner gave us lots of useful suggestions what to do, Thanks.
We will come back! / Tomas from Sweden
