We travel with Saga holiday group and from our experiences we will not recomend this hotel. Perhaps they can be more welcoming to guest arriving tired from the flight , then being driven 3 hours from the airport to the hotel, hungry then had to walk 10-15 minutes to the hotel in wet weather condition with no complain being Brits we are happy to do it. Expecting a warm welcome but were disappointed, 46 of us were all huddle like a sheep in a small reception room then we were given a glass of fruit juice ( not fresh). Evening meal was serve at 9pm with one of the head waiter being rude, the waitresses are more friendly and pleasant. The services only improved when our Rep arrived in the morning and we told her our experiences. Room is clean n comfy, good location if you are travelling around Italy but the Inter Personal Skill of some of the Staff need to improve. I already mention this to Saga.
Being a hotel since 1895 this small and compact hotel is a delight to visit ,the staff are friendly and helpful.Allocated room 225 small and compact but clean, with safety box, television.and phone if required also a good WFi available. The bathroom is also on the small size but also clean, the shower is good but no gel provided, the wash basin is quite big could be smaller to give more room.Breakfast was continental with a good selection, dinner was o.k. especially if you like pasta.Interesting paintings and prints adore the walls of the hotel worth a look Would stay here again. One tip there is a supermarket just a matter of few metres from the hotel
I spent 3 nights at this hotel whilst touring Italy. I was welcomed upon arrival and all staff members that I met were pleasant and most helpful. My room was very clean and comfortable with a view over the square. Breakfasts were typically continental. Dinners were pre ordered and quite adequate - so no issues with the food. I enjoyed my stay here very much plus it was very easy to wander around on my own. I would happily stay here again and recommend it to other travellers.
We stayed in this hotel 3 days, on arrival we were greeted at reception by friendly staff, the Hotel is in an ideal place to wonder around the town, the bedroom was a decent size with a very comfortable bed, however the breakfast were just very basic and the evening meals unless you like pasta was not that good for a 4 star hotel.
I only stayed one night & don't have much to say other than the shower was a dribble and the breakfast was very limited. It's got a good location, the bed was reasonably comfortable and you can open the windows. This isn't a very helpful review but it adds some balance to the very positive reviews from other travellers.
This is for sure the best hotel in Citta' di Castello. Hotel Tiferno is positioned in a quiet area just two minutes away from the main square. The room are spacious, well kept and the air conditioning works very well (fundamental in the hot summer days of Citta' di Castello. Being in the center of town, parking could be a problem but the people at the front desk will help you finding a space where to park. Do not worry too much even if it looks terrible when you arrive by car, somehow they will find a space for you. In fact, the people at the front desk are very helpful with anything you need. Breakfast is good, not many hot stuff besides eggs but the rest is good and the people there are very efficient. There is also a small fitness center. All in all an excellent experience and I strongly recommend Hotel Tiferno.
Arrived after a long transfer from Pisa airport, but well worth the journey. Greeted at reception by friendly staff, directed to Room 209, decent size room for my single occupancy, comfortable double bed, spotlessly clean, and controllable air-con. The hotel is full of character with some interesting items throughout. It is well situated in the town with the bus station a couple of minutes walk from the square. I stayed half board and the evening meals were of a very high standard.
I stayed several times in this hotel and always liked it! Good location, nice and clean rooms, very friendly staff, beautiful old building, actually I guess several old town houses, pleasant breakfast, and parking just in front! It feels like old Italian tradition of hospitality. Can only recommend!
The only reason I am giving this an average rating is because my room(254) was small and had no convenient space to put my suitcase. I finish up by putting it between the room and bathroom doors, it was a squeeze to enter the room or use the bathroom. The room was at the front of the hotel looking onto the square, it was much quieter than some of my fellow travellers who were on the side street opposite a cafe which was very noisy and opened until late. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and the food was very good.
Sad that the room had shutters shut and only looked on to inner courtyard so had to use lights all the time Otherwise room fine clean and comfortable and provided with toiletries daily Receptionists were helpful Enjoyed local market on Saturday morning as the hotel is in the centre of town
