Very nice hotel if you are looking for traveling by yourself or in couple. Restaurants and pubs nearby. Excellent location (centre of Perugia), friendly staff and good breakfast (the chocolate was very good and the staff very welcoming)! Room very clean. Recommended
Loved this hotel for it's character, position and attentive staff. Hated the tiny lift and all the stairs! Spectacular breakfast room, reading room and rooftop terrace. A welcome retreat from the frenzied crowds visiting the Chocolate Festival. Will choose a different date to to visit next time!
We've stayed at Hotel Fortuna on 5 separate trips to Italy, the latest trip for 4 days. We really enjoy the hospitality, the ample breakfast, and the friendly staff. It's quiet, yet just a couple of blocks from the center of town and all of its attractions and restaurants. We also enjoy the terraces and library for relaxing after a long day of walking. Highly recommended!!!
We loved the location, quietness, staff and most of all the breakfast. The dining room is beautiful. The room was comfortable and very clean. It was a great place to stay and visit close by smaller cities such as Assisi. We would love to come back.
Was traveling on tour in July 2017 and was staying at this hotel. The room I was given was small and dark. Old furniture an air conditioner that was not working. Beds were so uncomfortable. Looks like from the reviews that all the good rooms were taken and the sub standard rooms were only available. Could not recommend.
The hotel is in a great location in Perugia within a few strides of the main tourist area however it is down a narrow side street and hence relatively quiet. Parking close by is difficult and do your homework on the best parking/drop off place before you go. Room was a good size, comfortable rather than impressive and with good a/c. Reception staff very helpful and efficient. The breakfast was pretty average. The hotel has a lovely terrace with view which was great for early evening drink.
Great hotel centrally located in old part of town. Rooms were well-equipped and quiet. Breakfast was fairly standard. The only disappointing part was the lack of real coffee for breakfast. Only a coffee machine with bad coffee and long-life milk.
This small hotel is in the center of Perugia. Have a very nice room with a terrace and lovely views of the Umbrian hills . Staff helpful and friendly. Breakfast included and ample. Everything within walking distance.
We had a great three night stay at Fortuna. All the staff were warm and welcoming. Room was good, breakfast was an exceptionally good continental style. Location was great. Only small downside was that our room opened out to a lane that got quite busy between 6 and 8 as the uni students were coming into the city ... but then Perugia is a university town so no big deal. Would definitely stay here again.
We stayed one night at this hotel as part of a Back Roads Touring trip around Italy. The hotel, dating back to the Middle Ages as a monastery, is most interesting architecturally with incredible ceilings and walls. our room, i believe the only one on the first floor, was incredibly spacious and airy with good lighting. it is located directly across the hall from the breakfast buffet which proved very convenient for us as there was an early morning call. The main asset of this hotel is the building itself. the rooms was generally clean enough, and the lighting okay. The breakfast buffet was somewhat limited and the automatic individual cup brewing system was terribly inefficient causing many disgruntled comments from other guests. the shower was actually only mediocre. i would say however that it was a reasonable value for the cost.
