Hi All, I'd like to add to the reviews I've made in the past for Mountway Holiday Apartments. I recently visited the Mountway in May 2017 and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The weather was perfect and the staff as friendly as always. I've noticed that the kitchens have been remodeled and further renovations have been made with the installation of new bathroom vanities to all rooms, improving the general living experience. I enjoy staying on the higher level floors as they're quieter and offer the best views of the CBD. There are many TV channels to choose from, allowing people with varied interests to find entertainment and information easily. The location is just so convenient: 5 minutes walk to Kings Park and the center of the CBD and there are a lot of public transport options also, e.g. bus, train, ferry, etc., allowing you to travel to the nearest shopping malls. Keep in mind that the accommodation is cost-effective, not 5-star, but the kitchens, allowing you to make your own meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner, make me feel more at home than a 5-star hotel! I just love making my own breakfast, and then watching the news on TV early in the morning whilst I eat. I'm always sad to leave at the end of my holiday and look forward to returning. Thank you for taking the time to read my review. bud
Strategic location - walking distance to Perth CBD and Kings Park (about 10mins walk). Eventhough the building is old and need uplift the rooms and toilets are clean and they have all the facilities of an apartment. Free Wifi. Its very near the Green Cat Bus service (about 5 mins walk). We can get the towels, toiletries and refreshments front the front desk. Great value for money.
God where do I start. We didn't even end up staying 1 night. We booked in for 5 nights arriving at 9.30pm with 2 babies and even though it was a huge deal with all our luggage as well as a cot and pram that had been delivered by a rental company we felt we could not even spend 1 night there. On arrival the entrance was very dirty and unkept and felt very old and dingy. We were meant to find our keys in the night box but they weren't there so had to find the manager for the room key. As there were 3 adults we asked for more than 1 key as we would be going in separate directions but were told only 1 was available. We then went to go up in the lift but couldn't all fit I think it is the tiniest lift I have ever seen in a motel. Well it didn't get any better. The room was tiny to be considered a family room and the beds looked they have been there for one hundred years they were that sagged in the centre. The room smelt dirty and looked dirty. Its nice to have a balcony but only if you could see out the window and even though it was night time you could still see how filthy the windows were. The curtain track was hanging off and I am sure 1 accidental tug by a toddler and it would have been on top of them. The 'kitchen' had a microwave and that was it for cooking facilities. Why would you have a saucepan when there is nothing to cook on?? feeding 2 little ones for 5 days without a stove was not an option and not what we expected when it was advertised to have a kitchen. The photos on the website are definitely misleading and either they need to be updated or the whole motel redone although would be easier to bulldoze. I will never ever again book without checking on tripadvisor first I have learnt my lesson. I would have then read it is a dump with an egotistical GM that cannot be told the truth about the crappy establishment he is running. Thank you Mount Bay Waters Apartments for taking us in, you were absolutely superb.
On a whim, we decided on an overnight to Perth. The only good things about this place are its location for ease of access to the city, and its free parking. The property is very run down, noisy due to its location on the Freeway and inconsiderate guests, not clean and with many maintenance issues. The doir handle fell off when we opened the door and the shower rail fell down when I hung a towel on it. The vertical drapes are in poor repair and the walls and carpet need cleaning at least. Shabby for sure.
A cheap place in an expensive city. Going to a conference, one always checks for hotels but I guess it is time to change our preferences. An apart was very convenient for me when I attended a conference in Perth Convention Center. Mountway Holiday Aparts were just 4 min walking distance and it was more than a hotel. Small kitchen and useful kitchen utensils made my stay more "home-like". Receptionist and the owner were quite helpful with all the questions I had. Don't expect the service to be like a luxurious hotel & spa place :) but I would definitely suggest this place for conference or touristic trips with family :)
I love this place and will stay there again. The rooms and facilities were fantastic value. This is not 5 star accommodation, although I hear renovations are happening soon. However, I was amazed at the facilities - full studio apartment with separate kitchen, separate bathroom (with bath), bedroom and balcony. This is ideal for a single or couple who wish to have very cheap accommodation in the heart of the city. Just 5 minutes walk from my room and I was on St Georges street. Great restaurants nearby - Tiger Lil's - fantastic food and cocktails and Fast Eddy's - 24 hour restaurant with plenty of tables for intimate setting or large groups. Thanks for a great stay.
This is our first time in Perth city. We came here with 6 adults n 2 kids. We arrived here from Albany at night.there were some issues with our bookings but the GM there was very kind enough to assist us n manage to settle it instantly 👍👍👍.friendly person to deal with. What a pleasent stay and very affordable rooms without causing a damage hole in yr pocket.definitely recommended to all travellers who wanted a fairly nice room and affordable one. Definitely will visit perth again n stay here😘😘😘
I stay here very regularly as it reminds me of "home". Very homely, very welcoming, the staff at reception are always willing to help you with ANYTHING and they always go above and beyond to make sure your stay is enjoyable. The rooms a very spacious and have everything you could possibly need. Wide range of electrical equipment and kitchen items at no extra cost. Very affordable, great location, great staff, spacious rooms and EXCELLENT VIEW of the city we live in!!! Enjoy every stay and treat this place just like my own home and so should you. 😊
This was our 2nd stay at Mountway Apts, this time we had a wider view being up higher.Staff are very friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble.Everything is within walking distance, buses also close and frequent. Also good having laundry on site.Cant wait to go back.
This place is the most convenient because it is very near to the city and also King's Park. It is just a walking distant. The room is nice and comfortable because there is five of us. Not cramped at all. The room, kitchen, bathroom, and even the cooking utensils are clean. We have a nice view of the city from our room. Even, iron and ironing board is provided. Well, the best part is Mr. John helped us a lot and managed to get us free tickets to the Caversham Wild Life Park!!! All in all, i will definitely stay here again for the next visit ;)
