This is our second time to Perth & decided to stay at Mountway apartments again. The apartments are quite old & need a fair bit of maintenance. But they have all we need, small kitchen with a fridge, microwave, toaster & kettle. Beds are comfortable & the fan & air conditioning both work well. Shower is good it's over a bath, with really hot water. It is on a busy freeway but the traffic does slow down & we had no problems sleeping at night. A short walk over the bridge & down the road & u are in the CBD. Staff at reception Poppy & Shinto are very friendly & helpful, great people.
5 mins from the bus stop and CBD. Clean. No insects/ rusty things to be used. Convenient as it has all the basic things for kitchen use. They even have the dishwashing liquid. Spacious room. You can even transfer the coffee table from the balcony to the room. The noise did not bother us, just had to close the door connected to the balcony. Wifi speed decent from 11pm to 7am. Shower with functional warm and cold power. Good water pressure as well. Overall, perfect for the 72$/night we paid for.
Have stayed a couple of times now will be back again . Great budget apartments clean and tidy and fully equiped. Just a real relaxing stay, staff very helpful and make things so easy. All this and in a unbeatable location in the city. Glen 306
Most disappointing, main problem was we were required to pay a key deposit and then when we checked out management denied receiving it. Even though u can't check in without doing so. Also the guests in the office at the same time were complaining about rashes caused by bed bugs. I realise it is an ongoing problem for hotels but there method of dealing with the affected customers was atrocious. You don't blame innocent guests .Apart from the above and the dated ,dirty rooms its in a good position.
Hi All, I'd like to add to the reviews I've made in the past for Mountway Holiday Apartments. I recently visited the Mountway in May 2017 and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The weather was perfect and the staff as friendly as always. I've noticed that the kitchens have been remodeled and further renovations have been made with the installation of new bathroom vanities to all rooms, improving the general living experience. I enjoy staying on the higher level floors as they're quieter and offer the best views of the CBD. There are many TV channels to choose from, allowing people with varied interests to find entertainment and information easily. The location is just so convenient: 5 minutes walk to Kings Park and the center of the CBD and there are a lot of public transport options also, e.g. bus, train, ferry, etc., allowing you to travel to the nearest shopping malls. Keep in mind that the accommodation is cost-effective, not 5-star, but the kitchens, allowing you to make your own meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner, make me feel more at home than a 5-star hotel! I just love making my own breakfast, and then watching the news on TV early in the morning whilst I eat. I'm always sad to leave at the end of my holiday and look forward to returning. Thank you for taking the time to read my review. bud
Strategic location - walking distance to Perth CBD and Kings Park (about 10mins walk). Eventhough the building is old and need uplift the rooms and toilets are clean and they have all the facilities of an apartment. Free Wifi. Its very near the Green Cat Bus service (about 5 mins walk). We can get the towels, toiletries and refreshments front the front desk. Great value for money.
God where do I start. We didn't even end up staying 1 night. We booked in for 5 nights arriving at 9.30pm with 2 babies and even though it was a huge deal with all our luggage as well as a cot and pram that had been delivered by a rental company we felt we could not even spend 1 night there. On arrival the entrance was very dirty and unkept and felt very old and dingy. We were meant to find our keys in the night box but they weren't there so had to find the manager for the room key. As there were 3 adults we asked for more than 1 key as we would be going in separate directions but were told only 1 was available. We then went to go up in the lift but couldn't all fit I think it is the tiniest lift I have ever seen in a motel. Well it didn't get any better. The room was tiny to be considered a family room and the beds looked they have been there for one hundred years they were that sagged in the centre. The room smelt dirty and looked dirty. Its nice to have a balcony but only if you could see out the window and even though it was night time you could still see how filthy the windows were. The curtain track was hanging off and I am sure 1 accidental tug by a toddler and it would have been on top of them. The 'kitchen' had a microwave and that was it for cooking facilities. Why would you have a saucepan when there is nothing to cook on?? feeding 2 little ones for 5 days without a stove was not an option and not what we expected when it was advertised to have a kitchen. The photos on the website are definitely misleading and either they need to be updated or the whole motel redone although would be easier to bulldoze. I will never ever again book without checking on tripadvisor first I have learnt my lesson. I would have then read it is a dump with an egotistical GM that cannot be told the truth about the crappy establishment he is running. Thank you Mount Bay Waters Apartments for taking us in, you were absolutely superb.
On a whim, we decided on an overnight to Perth. The only good things about this place are its location for ease of access to the city, and its free parking. The property is very run down, noisy due to its location on the Freeway and inconsiderate guests, not clean and with many maintenance issues. The doir handle fell off when we opened the door and the shower rail fell down when I hung a towel on it. The vertical drapes are in poor repair and the walls and carpet need cleaning at least. Shabby for sure.
A cheap place in an expensive city. Going to a conference, one always checks for hotels but I guess it is time to change our preferences. An apart was very convenient for me when I attended a conference in Perth Convention Center. Mountway Holiday Aparts were just 4 min walking distance and it was more than a hotel. Small kitchen and useful kitchen utensils made my stay more "home-like". Receptionist and the owner were quite helpful with all the questions I had. Don't expect the service to be like a luxurious hotel & spa place :) but I would definitely suggest this place for conference or touristic trips with family :)
I love this place and will stay there again. The rooms and facilities were fantastic value. This is not 5 star accommodation, although I hear renovations are happening soon. However, I was amazed at the facilities - full studio apartment with separate kitchen, separate bathroom (with bath), bedroom and balcony. This is ideal for a single or couple who wish to have very cheap accommodation in the heart of the city. Just 5 minutes walk from my room and I was on St Georges street. Great restaurants nearby - Tiger Lil's - fantastic food and cocktails and Fast Eddy's - 24 hour restaurant with plenty of tables for intimate setting or large groups. Thanks for a great stay.
