I have stayed at the Mantra on many occasions as I find it well priced, clean, comfortable & well located with respect to shops & public transport. Breakfast is ok, but a bit pricy for what you get. Surely something better than Corn Flakes as a cereal option could be provided.
This is my fifth business trip and stay in Perth. The staff are friendly and efficient.I had a problem with air conditioning when I arrived a d was sorted wthin 15 minutes. The room I was in was a little water damaged in bathroom.Other than that it was roomy and spotless. The breakfast is standard fare but fresh and the coffe great. This site is my go to place in Perth.
Reasonable facilities for an overnight business trip with everything within walking distance and CBD. Room A/C was noisy however it was clean and tidy. Staff are friendly and helpful. Would have liked to see a tooth brush provided rather than 4 different body wash products :)
We recently stayed at Mantra and found that the price for the night was way way over the top for what else is avalable around Perth. Although the location is good being right on Murray st its all down hill from there. The restaurant is average the rooms the same We wont be back
Great facilities and location. Staff super friendly. Just disappointed to be woken by a false fire alarm at 8am on a Sunday morning when we were hoping for a sleep in after a late night out. Room was lovely. Very clean.
Manta on Murray is in a very convenient location in the Perth CBD for business, restaurants, pubs etc. The rooms are clean and spacious. The restaurant does a nice buffet breakfast with all the trimmings and the dinners were also tasty. Overall it does a good job, although it's not the full hotel experience as there is no on-site gym or pool.
Booked this as it is probably the closest accommodation to the Perth subway for a recent concert at Optus Stadium. Two new "mantras" after staying there. 1. Will not hesitate to book somewhere else next time. Willing to walk MUCH further. 2. Will not trust the Mantra brand again. The easiest aspect of our stay at Mantra on Murray was walking out the door. While I understand this is an inner city hotel, parking is ridiculously difficult, particularly as the nearby Raine Square complex is under construction. Sort something else out or advertise the obvious parking issue at the forefront of your website so people can make an informed decision. A map with walking distances perhaps? Paying almost $300/night I expect not to have a ridiculously noisy split system aircon 3 feet from the bed. The first room the unit was vibrating badly, the floor was saturated from the unit dripping water, and the water was dripping all over the power cord. Thinking this was an isolated issue I returned to the reception, informed them, and asked them to address the issues and as we were going out for a couple of hours they could rectify the issues or move our room. Returned 2 hours later to be told "all fixed". Not fixed at all. At all. Had anyone done anything? Really? Returned to reception to request to be moved, which thankfully was quickly arranged, however new room same aircon setup. Warning, if you are anything but a heavy sleeper or comatose drunk all the rooms have noisy internal air-con units. Noisy. Vibrating. Humming. Occasional hissing. Awesome. The rooms seriously need an update. Again I point out the inner-city location of this hotel, and while that may excuse the rubbish parking situation, it does not excuse the lack of simple operational facilities within the hotel. The WiFi is rubbish. There are NO usb charging ports anywhere in the rooms. Even the most budget hotels have adopted new alarm clocks to cater for usb charging. A simple and cheap adaptation, but not this hotel. Stuck somewhere in the 90's is my estimate. Who needs to charge electronic devices these days? Perhaps Mantra staff should be paid to stay elsewhere to assess their peers? The bathrooms are super dated and the tiny shower/bath combo with an ineffective shower screen and pull-out washing line went out last century Mantra. Having a sink and microwave in the room does not classify the room an apartment unless you still consider the decor on Friends reruns fashionable. A suite? Not even close. The included breakfast is run-of-the-mill, almost apathetic in its delivery. Have much better daily on mine-sites. Lets just say you cant really stuff up hash browns and you are a seasoned gambler if you try the mushrooms. The provided coffee is rubbish and having to pay $4 for a tiny cup of luke-warm "barista-made" is literally a tasteless joke that stopped being told when coffee in WA finally got serious mid 2000's. It's not funny anymore. Topping everything off, the building fire alarm was set off at 8am. I can only say this ensured we all woke up with enough time to discover the breakfast and coffee nightmare was real and run screaming for the door. Luckily this warm-up ensured I didnt pull a hammy running around the neighbouring block to retrieve my vehicle. We will not be back.
When we arrived we were greeted with a smile and 2 prople ready to assist with our bags. Nothing was too much trouble. We were really happy with our room. Also the cafe were really accommodating. Set right in the middle of the CBD, we were able to walk to everything.
The Shower and plumbing doesn't work, and this caused issues in adjusting the temperature of the water and turning the taps off. The door entry key was a continuous nuisance - taking some 10-12 attempts to gain entry into the room on each occasion.
Clean, comfortable large room. aircon was aimed straight at the bed which made it too cold to sleep with air straight at you. . 2am fire alarm and evacuation did not help. But otherwise good central place to stay
