The reception smelt. The elevator smelt worse!!! The hallway carpet was covered in stains and smelt of something even worse! The room was okay but very old and desperately in need of a renovation. This feels like a half way house.

Room was dirty, furniture was stained, standing lamp in lounge was all bent in. Overall poor standard and worth the few extra dollars to stay anywhere else.

The property looks tired and in need of some TLC. The room was clean with the exception of the oven. The kitchens aren’t very well stocked. One tiny frypan for a 2 bedroom apartment, no scissors etc. The tv didn’t work for 4 nights of my stay. At any given time one or two of the three lifts were out of order. The biggest concern is the location. It’s not walking distance to a big supermarket and doesn’t feel very safe to walk back alone at night.

Check in was good with very friendly staff. After booking i received a few less friendly emails about parking, insisting that I pre book and prepay. One of these emails "Dear [Guest Name], We are looking forward to welcoming you to Mantra on Hay for your upcoming stay this 2026-01-10 If there is anything you require prior to your arrival—such as bedding configuration or special preferences—please do not hesitate to contact us via email at ----@--------.--- You can also reach our Front Desk Team directly on (08) 9267 4888." The room was dated and the bedding a mixture of sheets and duvets that didn't quite fit. The drop off parking outside the hotel was occupied mostly by the same two cars which caused irritation on checkout for us and other guests as we had to park either down the road or block traffic to load our bags into the car. There are definitely better options around.

I had been given the impressiin that parking was free when i booked but NO, you pay 30 dollars per day to park. I was charged for 2 days. Was told online i have a balcony view which did not happen. I think there needs to be a better way of communicating what is obtainable online and onsite.

Usually very good stay here - At least twice a year. Rooms still relatively clean and in good condition but elevators were out of action for over an hour (so it was 930 at night) No access to rooms. Last time i stayed elevators had a problem too.
