Do not go to restaurant for breakfast! Restaurant a waste of money, had to wait 25 minutes for hot food. No bowls or milk for cereal and no glasses for juice. Toaster was on fire with smoke belching out of it when we arrived. Check I not till 4pm then checkout 10. Am!
Attention to detail and overall service let this trip down in my eyes. A mess up in having wine brought to our room for our arrival and a disaster of a request of a birthday cake which I paid as extra. Rooms and facilities were okay nothing really special about them. Food in the main restraunt was fantastic.
Cottage was damp, our clothes smelled strongly of this on return home. It triggered my partners asthma. It's ridiculous to charge for electricity usage, false economy causing damp accommodation. No hairdryer available in cottage and we got the last one from reception on a quiet weekend!
Not a place to say if you want good food or a romantic spa break, Staff were helpful and friendly but they can only work with the tools they are given. Breakfast very poor unless you are in to be greasy fry-ups. No healthy eating here and no option to purchase something healthy. Spa was noisy and babies in the hot tub making it unacceptable. Never got to use it in three days.
Visit for short break and to visit local area. Excellent facilities and location. Friendly staff. Great area for travel and easy to get about. Stunning scenery . Spa facilities and pool area are very good.
We’ve all been in the ‘Traditional Scottish’ hotel. You know – the sticky tartan carpet, the dusty stag’s head, the creaky staircase, the overpriced room which is in the ‘annex’ at the back and getting served tinned tomato soup by Mrs Overall in the restaurant. Next time I recommend Moness Hotel. Excellent location, restaurant was first class, service and food very good. Rooms are modern and well furnished, staff pleasant and helpful
We booked two cottages for 2 nights in October and had a great stay. There were a few blips hence why I can only rate it as 'Very Good'. However, I would not hesitate in booking Moness again. Cottages - We had a 1 bedroom cottage and a 2 bedroom cottage. Both were very clean and the kitchen was well equipped. The 2 bed cottage was very very spacious and going by the small difference in price, we would not hesitate in booking that instead of a 1 bed. I shared the 1 bed cottage with my parents. Oh my goodness I had the worst night sleep ever. The sofa bed is lumpy, bumpy and I felt like I was slipping off the bed as the whole thing was at an angle. I ended up sharing a room with my 4 year old nephew in the 2 bed cottage on the second night. Avoid the sofa beds at all costs. Resort in general - Positioned on the outskirts of Aberfeldy, it is a 5/10 minute walk to the main street and co-op. The cottages are spaced out well and nicely positioned trees allow a little privacy if you want to sit outside. The main hotel and reception is a few minutes walk depending on where your cottage is. The swimming pool is a nice size for the kids but those wanting a relaxing swim may want to go during the 'adult only' times. However, we felt that the adult only times were the times that children want to swim and are up! Our kids are up at 6am and an early swim would have been perfect, however, this was 'adult time'. Who needs a swimming pool when you have ducks to chase! My nephew loved feeding and following the ducks round the resort. Staff - All very friendly and welcoming. We had a slight issue with the food in the restaurant but to honest this was dealt with by the customer service manager very quickly and we were very pleased with her manner and professionalism. Cannot complain. Overall, a great place to stay. Good for families, family get togethers and couples. A quiet resort set in beautiful surroundings.
A lovely place to stay and in the sunny winter day the journey was beautiful. The pheasants running around the grounds and the beautiful gardens were amazing. The food was excellent and so was the service.
Excellent location, great facilities and very good value for money however the cottage we stayed in was a bit dated. We stayed for three nights for a walking holiday and the surrounding area offers everything from river strolls, hill rambles and Munro walking. Some minor issues in the cottage but they did not deter from the overall experience, e.g. TV did not work and had to be swapped, curtain rail end missing so pain each time we drew the curtains and the bathroom shaving light was not working, TV swapped immediately it was reported and other minor stuff did not bother us.
Love the location and the surroundings are beautiful Love the ducks and the pond Feel it has become a little unloved and tired Well equipped in the kitchen Just needs a facelift or reduction on price to reflect
