Week stay, dad and daughters
My four daughters and I had a great week staying in Spanish Key 306. Unit appears recently and nicely updated with a well stocked kitchen for cooking. Beds were firm but comfortable (mattress toppers would have made them extremely comfortable). Third floor had good views and super easy access (short elevator wait). Beach was wonderful with low crowds and not an overbearing of beach vendor chairs (as we always bring our own chairs/shade canopy). I rented through VRBO, but we realized that it was managed by property management company, Perdido Realty Vacations, who provided simple check-in instructions and were very easy to contact. The icemaker was not working when we first got there but repairman replaced it on first day before I was ever able to contact anyone, kudos. However, using a property management company also means there are not items in unit you might find in other units rented directly from owner such as spices, games, or beach supplies; so you will need to bring your own. They communicated very specifically about what was in the unit and what would be provided… one roll the paper towels, a couple bowls of toilet paper, some basic ‘hotel’ bathroom items, soap, shampoo, etc. One major negative, no fault of owner, was construction going on in unit directly above us. It would not have really been an issue, but beach swimming was closed for two days due to rip currents, so we were in unit more than usual. Overall, was a super rental and a fun, relaxing vacation.
