Lovely lodge, very cosy and made even cosier by the wood burner which was a highlight of our stay. It’s close to all the beautiful locations we wanted to visit as part of our short Lake District break. We had a few issues which were dealt with the next day. The pictures are a bit misleading, this is a lodge on the edge of a large lodge park and quite close to the other lodges. It does have a lovely garden overloooking fields on one side but the other three sides are right next to other lodges and their cars.

Fabulous especially if you have a dog as excellent enclosed garden. All amenities you could want and very clean. Short drive to large supermarket but in very quiet area only 4 miles from Ullwater. You do need to drive every where.

We loved Glendowlin Lodge and for us it was a very different location to past visits to the lakes. Different but great. The lodge was very comfortable with lots of room for our party of four adults and a dog. We will come back again and would recommend it for others.Negatuves:The WiFi is not free unless your with EE.The driveway was a bit tight for a long car to turn round in front of the lodge. The heating was a bit excessive but turning off the storage heaters sorted that.

A lovely cozy cabin, well equipped and with the benefit of a mystery to solve, where the secret cutlery drawer was hidden, we failed and had to ring Lisa to tell us where it was. 😂. The cabin was lovely and the large enclosed garden was fabulous for the dogs.It was clean and bed was really comfy. Log fire was lovely and an ample supply of logs to use. The location was quiet and peaceful but near to towns for supplies and eating out. The jacuzzi bath was an added luxury. Okay the showers aren’t great but adequate. The heating system is storage heaters and doesn’t suit everybody who like to have total control of the heating but we found it fine and the cabin was naturally warm and we even turned the heating off some nights. All in all we had a lovely week in a lovely comfortable well equipped cabin that we would definitely return to. The owners have obviously gone to a lot of trouble to ensure guests have everything they need and have a great holiday. Thank you for a lovely week.

This property is just amazing,it’s like a home from home with a fully equipped kitchen, large living, dining area and a beautiful modern kitchen .. the peace and tranquility is wonderful thoroughly enjoyed watching the rabbits running around freely enjoying the lovely weather we enjoyed … would thoroughly recommend to anyone wanting a peaceful quiet break in your own grounds with lovely views of the surrounding countryside…😊😊😊😊😊

We had a very good time in this cottage.

We had a very good time in this cottage. The quiet location with the nice views from all the windows, a lot of space to relax outside, the inside of the cottage with the cosy livingroom, the kitchen with all equipment to make good meals, the dishwasher :-), the bedrooms with comfortable beds and the two bathrooms: perfect for a family of 5! We highly recommend this place!The start of a lot of beautiful walks in the Lake District are within 45 mins. distance.We visited Keswick, Ambleside, Grasmere and of course Penrith nearby. The Penrith Agricultural Show was very funny. Supermarkets in Penrith are only 10 mins. by car.
