We fell in love with this restored villa and had our wedding here. It's in perfect condition with immaculate grounds and some of the best Tuscan views. If you want a remote location paired with luxury look no further.
We stayed here for 5 nights and were blown away by the tranquility and beauty of this hotel. The renovation of this villa and it's grounds are just breathtaking and sympathetic to its style and I was transported back in time to the luxurious lifestyle of the Contessa all those years ago. The staff were brilliant and were happy to go beyond the norm to answer any of our questions about the villa and its history. The gardens and views were just beautiful and the peacefulness of them just completed our stay. Thank you Tenuta Di Pratello - we will return!
We stayed for 4 nights to attend our sons wedding. Everything was wonderland. The place is elegant and charming with large beautiful rooms. Very comfortable with modern touches. Fantastic warm friendly staff. Delicious food at breakfast, lunch and dinner. It couldn't have been better - we are spoilt for anywhere else!
My partner and I recently stayed for three nights to attend a close friend's wedding. The house is elegant, with lofty ceilings and classic decor. Staff were friendly and approachable and our room at the back corner of the property was spotless. For me it is the grounds and pool that really make this a wonderful hotel. There is nothing better than cooling off in the deep pool after a walk around the hotel to admire the pool. A word of warning, the mosquitos are vicious in this area and my legs came back covered in bites. Next time I will definitely be packing my repellent! Due to the isolated nature of the property it is also worth bringing supplies with you. Some bottled water and a few snacks would have been welcome!
We stayed here 5 nights and really enjoyed it. We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment which was comfortable and clean. The pool setup was a highlight, with the snack bar and plenty of space around the pool for people to spread out. And the walk to and from the pool was always beautiful any time of day. The tennis court was a nice amenity too. If you're serious about your tennis, you might want to bring your own rackets and balls but they have some older stuff to borrow which was totally fine for a hit around. We had our 3 year old son with us and the staff were all very accommodating and seemed happy to have him there. All the staff were great generally. There was a good mix of couples and families which was nice, and having the extra space around the grounds and pool for him to roam was definitely a plus. Other highlights were the sunsets from the terrace, as well as going for walks/runs up and down the quiet scenic road just outside the hotel gate. Maybe we would have to agree with 1-2 previous reviews in that the only thing that could use some improvement was some of the food. Breakfast was good, but lacked a few touches that could really make it great- a few Italian cheeses for example. Again, dinners were good to very good. The antipasti and pasta/risotto courses were all great, but all of the secondi and desserts were only ok. But the setting and service are both great, so it's definitely worth having at least one dinner at the hotel and deciding for yourself. All in all we had a great stay and would happily return!
We cannot fault Pratello and we can't wait to return - hopefully for many years to come. The views are incredible, hospitality warm and personal and we thoroughly recommend the cooking course with chef Luca! Rooms are also massive - and very luxurious for the price we paid. There's just enough people staying in the hotel to give it an atmosphere, without it ever feeling busy. Perfect. It's also fairly close to Florence so the location is brilliant.
The hotel is beautiful en very well organised. The decoration of the hotel is very nice and creates a special atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We were nog so satisfied about the breakfast and the diner in the evening. You would expect a better kitchen in a hotel like this.
Excellent resort on a top hill with an amazing panoramic view. High comfy accomodation and rooms located in a fully renovated country villa. Very gently staff and warm welcoming. A private guide tour in the well-dressed Tuscan garden is also a strong recommendation. The swimming pool and surrounding relaxing area with a large view are also one of the eye-catchers. Furthermore excellent food and wines made our short stay the best of Tuscany. Will definitely come back soon and can recommend to everyone, young and older.
My wife and I have stayed here twice in the last 3 years and we will continue to come back to Pratello as we cannot fault it. The pool is big and amazing to dip into when the heat is intense, the pool bar offers tasty salads and lunches in the shade and the evening dinners on the terrace with gorgeous views you could never tire of are exceptional - rabbit ragu as other reviewers have highlighted was a standout. The rooms are very well air conditioned and are comfy and spacious and the gardens are lovely to wander around in this peaceful and tranquil setting. R&R exemplified.
Right from when we arrived, nothing was too much bother for the staff at Pratello. Two of us had a standard room in the main house and I can only say if ours was a standard room the others must have been amazing! The owners have done an amazing job of combining new technology with a beautifully sympathetic authentic Tuscan style (the a/c turns of automatically when you open the window which impressed me no end!). The other half of our party had one of the suites in the out building. They were really happy with the accommodation and the fireplace in the kitchen was just stunning. I can totally imagine coming back for a Christmas or New Year break here. The grounds are beautiful and the vegetable garden was of particular interest to me as I have an allotment, however I now have severe aubergine envy after seeing the ones grown at Pratello. Although the menu in the restaurant may seem a bit limited, the food tastes incredible - rabbit ragu was my favourite. Cristiano the waiter, is a charming man and was so helpful. Good choices of wine Cristiano!! And finally the pool. Such heaven with the most spectacular views. I cannot recommend this hotel enough and will definitely return in the near future.
