I do love this place, has a great vibe and really wanted to score it 4 or 5 based on view alone, but it does have negatives. Positives: +great view and wake up to the sound of the ocean + great sunset location + interior design of rooms are well thought out + good proximity for surfing + staff are great / helpful + can rent surfboards straight from hotel Negatives: - walls are super thin, you literally hear everything from the rooms next door - aircon is poor in some rooms (I stayed in two different rooms and while one was adequate, I needed a fan in another) - it is a LONG walk to the main road, and a lot of steps up and down the property - food/drink is just ok. Breakfast is al-a-carte (which I prefer) but first attempt at eggs and smashed avocado on toast came out extremely undercooked, and avocado smash had so much lemon added to it that it just tasted of citrus. Pork Tacos at lunch were better. Ordered a G&T in the evening and it was so filled to the brim with ice and tonic that I might as well have ordered a fizzy, sugary water. I also saw a mouse in their bar. Overall, nice stay and unique location but not without faults, some of which you have to embrace for the bohemian feel but others not. If I could give it 3.5 stars I would score that.
Is really a paradise! Beautiful beach house, with boho chic surrounds ..and a good way to run from the noises. "Sea Sand and Sun" vip seat from your open room to the porch. Just relaxing and enjoy. Truly picture perfect; the room, food, drinks, the view, the clift, sunset.. Best experienced ever!
I'm half-hearted on leaving a review here as I don't want this place to get too popular and the price starting to sky-rocket, but it deserves all the praise it can get. This place is mind-blowingly beautiful, from its rustic and tropical design, to the quality of the staff service. I was travelling solo but the staff made me feel so at home. The breakfast in the morning was scrumptious. I had a 430AM taxi on my check out day, and the staff even offered to give me a packed breakfast. There are yoga and surf lessons (looking out to the ocean) here too. They organise a beach BBQ every friday, and it's such a lovely event. Candles light up the beach, with a local band playing. It's almost too perfect. Yes, the walls are very thin so noise could be a problem, but the benefits far outweigh this. Thank you DREAMSEA for giving me my dream vacation stay! I will be back!!
You would think the apple doesn’t fall far off from the tree but don’t expect canggu to be anywhere near the property in uluwatu. Dreamsea canggu is only pretty where the pool lounge area and cafes are concerned. The outdoor bath in the deluxe room is dirty, the flush is not working, along with the WiFi. The workout studio is horrendously noisy with music blasting EVEN at 9pm. There is no hairdryer. No telephone in the room for me to even call. Limited electrical plugs, if I want the corner lamp turned on I’ll have to remove the fridge plug. Pretty ridiculous if you ask me.
This place truly is a dream. Wonderful location, staff, great food and views like no other. A few reviews mention the stairs and the walk to town and yeah, granted, it’s a haul. I called Dreamsea home for a week and I grew to enjoy the challenge ;) I was in a twin room with the communal showers and toilets. Don’t expect anything fancy here! Room was decent, apart from the heat and paper-thin walls. Literally heard every single SnapChat ping from the next door room but hey, you get used to it and you get what you pay for! The waves crashing on the rocks at night sometimes allow you some peace. If you’re learning to surf, you can’t ask for anything more. You have it all at Dreamsea.
First of all, this place is like nothing I’ve ever seen. It’s like something out of a movie. Friendly staff, rustic, good music, good food, 5 second walk down the stairs into the water where you can surf a left or right hand wave, snorkel, or just hang in the water. We had some problems with booking.com (not dreamseas fault at all), which meant our room was no longer available to us. Dreamsea staff then fixed it all up completely and accommodated to us perfectly. Pros: - friendliest staff ever -great coffee - great food at a cheaper than average Australian meal price - 10/10 views of the water and waves - insane sunset - everything is clean - surfboard hire (100k) - perfect place for a surf trip or a nice relaxing stay - very homely feeling with a little bit of night time entertainment - staff are more than happy to carry your bags up and down the stairs if you would like Cons: - about 10 minute walk from the road down to the reception and rooms (but the view is amazing on the walk) - communal bathrooms. If you want private ammenities ensure your room specifies that they have them, some do some don’t. - walls are paper thin and every word that isn’t whispered can be heard by your neighbours. This wasn’t a major problem for us but keep it in mind. Recommendations: - use backpacks instead of suitcases - if you have a motorbike it will cut out about 10 minutes of walking (you will thank yourself later) - cut out phone usage and enjoy the views and your company - if stairs aren’t your thing, you may need to reconsider locations. Which is extremely unfortunate - have a good time and get to know the staff - bring a wall plug adapter (unsure if reception provide them) This place is a haven and needs to be experienced because pictures don’t do it justice, from the lovely staff to the perfect choice of music. My partner and I strongly recommend this place for young travellers, or fit oldies, or anyone with a heart beat.
Dreamsea, wow!! It’s has been an ordinary and amazing experience, from when we arrived to when we left. We ate breakfast and dinner everyday and it was beyond amazing. My favorite was the smoothie bowl and the taco, try it, you won’t regret it!! The staff was also very friendly and helpfull, they made the experience complete. One negative thing was the thin walls and the overhearing from the neighbors. The wi-fi was not the best, but that was only good - because then you could be 100% relaxed. If I could, I would stay here forever. Dreamsea you’ve got my heart.
A beautiful setting just 10 minutes walk to the beach. The staff were so amazing with the two kids and were always chatting and interacting with them. There was a swimming pool big enough for dipping into (not for swimming) and the rooms were beautiful with outdoor bathrooms. The breakfasts (included in the cost of our room) were epic! American sized portions and tasted so good. The rest of the food was amazing too. Yoga and fitness is on site and a great addition to the offering. Thank you for a wonderful stay and such friendliness of all the team.
(+) great sea view, great tasty breakfast, access to private beach (-) room is hot, aircon can't cool the room enough even with a fan, poor amenities Access to hotel through stairs is narrow and steep, better not carry heavy stuff. Small parking lot. But overall we are happy
Can’t fault this camp apart from the thin walls (you can literally hear the conversations of your neighbors). Watch out for the wooden signage on the opposite side of the road if you are coming from airport/Kuta after you see Anantara and Padang Padang surf camp signs on the left. A bit of walk before you hit the steep steps (it’s not as bad as Suluban or Nyang Nyang beach, take it as a daily workout routine to burn some calories). Best if you ditch the luggage and use a backpack instead. Pack as light as possible! We were in room 10 which is decent, clean with a beautiful ocean view. Make sure you bring along mosquito repellent, I got bitten a few times during our stay. The room doesn’t get much sun in the morning. 4-5pm is the best time to get a bit of evening light if you wanna take some pics. Breakfast is truly awesome! Love the smoothie bowls but the waiting is long if there are lotsa guest ahead of you. Neighbors were respectful and didn’t make any noise after 10pm. We slept through the night hearing the sea waves which was quite amazing. If you are a light sleeper, would suggest to bring earplugs. People get up as early as 8am. They also have yoga and surf classes. Don’t forget to take a stroll on the private beach during low tide! And not to mention the staffs are friendly too!
