LK Renaissance

I have to say this is my second visit to LK Renaissance within three months and yet again I booked the one bed suite. This time they gave me a room on the 4th floor which I was best pleased with as the noise from outside the bars on the second floor was unbearable on my previous visit. Water pressure yet again outdone itself and was one of the best I have experienced constant hot water that was the key. Room does have a lot of wear and tear now which is understandable especially floors probably will eventually need replacing as they are rising up and the WIFI signal needs to be addressed as we consistently lose signal in there luckily I got a thai SIM card this time with data !! -I would strongly recommend anyone to this if they need access to e mails all the time. Other then that a pleasant enjoyable experience close proximity to all requirements and would definitely stay here again and on this occasion ALL staff were friendly with smiles well done to the management ! The bad reviews I noticed from other travellers are usually rooms below the one bed suite I would recommend to Management to maintain these rooms better if they want to continue to attract all types of travellers and not just the ones that pay more for the better rooms.

I've stayed at the other LK hotel down the street a few times but the rate over the New Year holiday was almost double so I figure to give the Renaissance a try instead. First off it's a newer hotel, or at least appears to be so. They don't serve breakfast but if you've had breakfast at the LK property down the street you know it's money well saved. The rooms were large and modern, good beds and plenty of closet and draw space. The front desk was good and the house keeping great. It wasn't very crowded so that probably had something to do with it. The pool is nice but small. There is a massage parlor (a legit one) down stairs and a pharmacy too. A family mart across the street as is a nice pool hall and large set of beer bars. As to that you are a short walk up the street to Soi LK Metro area if that's your interest. Also not far from the main mall Central Festival, the beach and Walking Street. You really can't go wrong with either property the Renaissance or the Metropolitan. The Renaissance is closer to 2nd Street, newer and rooms are plenty large. The Metropolitan has larger rooms (to the point of wasted space), further from 2nd Street, bigger pool and right next door to Soi LK Metro street. Personally I would let price decide.

i am a frequent Pattaya traveller, but this visit was some kind of notorious. I arrived at the LK Renaissance - the exterior and interior gave me a somwhat luxury impression and i was excited to see my room. The room was supposed to be a superior (not a deluxe) - on the internet of LK renaissance they describe the room size to be 40 sqm - honestly! i had a 20 sqm room - however front desk insisted that this is a "superior" - maybe there a different measures in Thailand or at least with the LK group??? Nevertheless the room was sufficient and good equipped, minibar, towels, desk and sofa. All OK. Now i liked to shower after a long drive from South Thailand to Pattaya - guess what! The water ran so slow and soft and could not even produce a real shower to get me wet - the same on the toilet - i was unable to clean my excrements with that "not-existing" waterpressure! So i called Maintenance - Yeah we take care - after 2 hours still nobody showed up - i went down to the front desk describing my problem. Guess what: the guy said to me: "I" - listen again "I" shall call housekeeping they will care. Of course nothing happened! Everything paid in advance by Agoda and staying 3 days i did not want to make a big complaint out of it and accepted it. At night i come back to the hotel (2 am) - i enter the door and see a big rat (yes a RAT) sniffing around - the rat did not notice me or noticed me - but it did not care. The same guy at the front desk - i ask to have a look at that, he responded: Yes Sir, everything is OK - i told him: LOOK you have a rat right here in the lobby looking for food. He responded: that's OK Sir. Well - i never experienced that in the worst places i have been - maybe this is the new Pattaya attitude. Given the weaker exchange rates for the Thai Baht and the general Thai price increases i believe there will be more and more 7-11 tourists (the experts know what i want to say) in town. Try to stay away from this place!

love this hotel, i stay here every time i visit pattaya, the rooms are very nice and large, something you want when on holidays, staff are great and pricing is very good for the accomadation, short baht bus ride to walking st and walking distance to central festival, great location right on soi diana

Nicest room i ever had a suite room 80 square meters big, 3 balconies 1 livingroom 1 bedroom,, i will book this again for my last week in pattaya end of January really quit to near to everything bars restaurant, this can be my best stay ever next time if i can find nice promotion

It's the second time I have stayed at this hotel, I was here for 3 nights with my Mrs during November, room 2709. The rooms in this hotel are very large, bigger than one needs on a short break but fantastic if your staying a while longer. Bathroom is large, has a jacuzzi bath with overhead shower, toilet has a built in bidet and there's plenty of light and nice decoration with the marble. Beds are very large and very comfortable with crisp clean bedding. Having the benefit of a balcony also has its benefits, especially for my Mrs who smokes. The front staff are quite friendly on checking in, but after that they pretty much ignore you, every time I went through reception they had their faces buried in their mobile phones and never acknowledged us. On checkout they tried to charge for a missing glass that never existed. The Hotel is in a great location, right on Soi Diana, a 2 minute walk to 2nd road or Soi Buakao where the cheap baht buses operate. Overall it's a good place to stay and I would recommend it.

Currently staying in a one bedroom suite on a two week booking. The suite and hotel facilities are as we expected but the rudeness we have experienced by reception and porter staff from day one have been unprecedented. In all my years travelling to Thailand I have never experienced anything like it. We have had Thai friends coming to visit us and they have been treated with contempt and rudeness, being made to feel cheap and unworthy. To add insult to injury the porters have been demanding that I pay 500TB for each visitor that comes to our room, regardless of intentions for the visit. Needless to say that my partner and I are appalled with this treatment and contemplating alternative accomodation. As nice as a room may be it is the actual customer service you receive that measures the satisfaction of the hotel stay. Based on the terrible customer service we have received I would forewarn anyone contemplating booking into this hotel not to do it and to stay somewhere else where your patronage will be appreciated.

I arrived at the check in at about 8pm at night. The receptionist was efficient, but certainly not friendly. The bell boy escorted me to my room, which I was happy to find was very clean, with a comfortable bed, good air conditioning, and good hot water. The room had excellent facilities. After a thunderstorm my wifi in the room went down so I went to the front desk and told them. Within 5 minutes the maintenance were at my room and fixed the problem. The front desk during the day time were very friendly and helpful. The swimming pool was very well maintained and sparkling clean. No food service in the hotel, but the hotel is surrounded by good restaurants from inexpensive to expensive. The hotel is close to major shopping malls, small shops, restaurants, night life, and all are within walking distance. Even though the night life is close the sounds did not come into my room. Lastly the maid who cleaned the room did it in a very thorough manner, and never complained no matter what time I left the room to allow to start cleaning.

I am a solo traveler. I stayed in the hotel for 14 nights. The hotel was excellent. In the past, I stayed few times at LK the Empress on beach road and I now took LK Renaissance as it was 2/3 the price of LK the Empress at that low season period. I also wanted to take a step off from beach road. I think that this hotel is better than LK the Empress and the location in Soi Diana is much better than beach road. Generally, it has same LK qualities of comfort that I liked in the Empress. I took the cheapest room here – "Studio Room Only". The room was at 5th floor and was great. Very big. Very clean. Good AC. Comfortable bed. Enough electric outlets. Comfort sofa. comfort desk and chair. Very quiet room. The Studio room is in the rear of the hotel (not facing Soi Diana) so it was absolutely quiet in the room (even before HRH death in 13.10.16), you could here music from bars of Soi Diana only when you left the room into the open area near the elevators. As a summary - everything was good in the hotel. Super girl friendly. elevators good. stuff great. Location great. Small balcony to dry clothes. Close to all shopping malls (Mike Shopping Mall is just at the other side of second road in front of the entrance to Soi Diana). Close to LK Metro, though I highly prefer the clubs in walking street (I recommend in Walking Street – Infinity , Sexy Airline & Saphir are the "Starlight Express" there. They are definitely the best. Saphir if you like very big club, and you may check New Star if you like small club. All these 4 clubs have good atmosphere, comfort seating and all of what you came from in the first place to this beating heart of mother earth. The Hotel is a walking distance to walking street, and anyway you would return with taxi/Baht bus and you will use the second road (which is one-traffic-direction-road from Walking Street to the Hotel street) back to the Hotel. Internet in the hotel is useful, you just need to give it some time for "adjustment" at the beginning of each surfing session and after maybe 15 min. it works fine. I downloaded 50 MB video from youtube in just a few minutes. most important – for the whole visit they did not change the internet password and you don’t need to go through a log-in site but as you just walk into the hotel it automatically connect to the wifi. While standard check in time is 14:00 I came 12:00 (noon) and was given immediately the room (w/o any issues or extra charge). I think you better ignore other negative reviews as, at least to my experience, they do not reflect the Hotel at all. Also you should note that the construction works of the Base high residential towers built at the rear of the hotel have already finished so no noise from that side. Few things that are not included in the room which make no big issue for me: no walk-in shower (only bath shower), No bath robe, no bath slippers. Line phone in my room didn't work (I used mobile phone to contact reception). No really hot water but just medium hot. (in the beginning of my stay there were only hot hot water but after they fixed the plumbing machine the water was not hot enough). Also, in the hotel there is no breakfast option (I wouldn't go anyway as I am getting up late and like to eat outside – lots of places to eat 24/7 nearby the hotel). On the cons side also note that there is a constantly bad smell from sewage control box (open one) in the bathroom near the toilet because. You may try to block it by putting a wet towel on it..

As I start to write this I see some bad reviews on the side of my screen. I don't know what these people are talking about. I really enjoyed my stay. I stayed in the 1 bedroom suite on the forth floor. If there is one negative comment, it would be that the water cannons from the pool can be heard throughout the night. Other than that, I have nothing but positive comments. The room was clean and open. I didn't have any issues with the staff. I really like the openness of the bathroom. The walk in shower had really good water pressure and temperature. The bed was a little clean, but a little stiff for my liking. Yet I still had no problems falling asleep. I really enjoyed the 3 balconies, because I am a smoker. It was too easy to choose a side to avoid being in direct sunlight. I would stay there again. I recommend this hotel to anyone.
