Due to my mobility problems most hotels can be frustrating, this wasn't the case at A-One Beach Hotel. By far the most access friendly hotel I Have ever had the pleasure to stay with. From the moment I arrived I was greeted by warm and friendly staff who assisted me at every turn during my 26 day stay. The guest manager and his staff even took the opportunity to upgrade my room at no extra charge because they realised the amenities in the upgrade would assist me with my special needs. I would highly recommend this establishment for any tourist disabled or otherwise. Brian Herbert satisfied guest!!!
We were frustrated that the night staff couldn't speak any English, but mostly enjoyed our stay until the checkout. At check-in they took a large cash deposit (worth about $60 USD). At checkout, we were made to wait thirty minutes before being told, "thank you, bye bye." When I asked for my deposit, the front desk worker (Zera) looked confused and said, "no, you don't have one," while waiving a deposit slip with my name on it. I pointed out that it was my name and had my room number, so she asked if I had the receipt (no one said I needed to keep this at check-in and housekeeping threw it away). Only when I called her a thief to our Thai driver did she capitulate and allow my passport as proper identification. I'm sure this scam works on the mostly-older western customers here, but as an experienced traveler in my 30's (and an attorney), I was about 30 seconds away from calling the tourist police. Stay at a western-owned hotel if you don't want to be cheated in Pattaya. Scams are just too commonplace here and A-one is probably the worst offender out of all the mid-range hotel choices.
A very nice small hotel. Quite new. Rooms well fitted out with modern shower and flat screen tv, room safe and ample closet space. Free WiFi that works, Kettle and coffee station. Floor to ceiling sliding window with Balcony looking out on to Pattaya Beach front. Mandatory remote controlled air con, swimming pool bar and restaurant. Friendly and accommodating cleaning staff. Same goes for the reception staff. Quiet at night. No Mosquito bites when you wake up in the morning! I stayed here twice before and am going back for a third time in July. Works out between €30 and €50 per night depending on the time of year and the deals on offer. Well worth a look.
"the special about this hotel.." - cleanliness (SUPER) - Bed comfort "the good.." - Location - very friendly and helpful Staff even with their minimal English - the room view "the Bad.." - no restaurant in the same building, you have to cross the street to reach their restaurant (opposite building) the swimming pool is small and not very attractive to me at least.
I booked a sea view room on booking.com and it said children below 12 years are complimentary to stay when not using extra bed. I checked in and the front staff said they will add up the breakfast charges for my two children but that was actually correct. And what they did next was really soothing the hotel manager upgraded my room to a suite room for very minimal charge I think for the next 3 nights stating I am with my family and children could enjoy a little more space. Really nice for you guys always having a very good smiling face. Love ur service. Keep up ur work. My kids really enjoyed the stay with you.
I think they had a partial construction for 2 days of our 5 day stay we had a quite reasonable rate though without breakfast. The staff were very helpful at this hotel though not so nice at all at the big A-one hotel (there are around 4 A-one hotels around) next door when we tried to eat there for their lunch buffet so we ended up not eating there!!! The AC was hard to control and also the bath room hot waters were very very hard to control...both the pressures and the temperatures fluctuate right away and get very hot!
I stayed in the smaller Hotel over the road from the main complex..... the front of house staff were friendly.. helpful.. and sociable.. David especially was always cheerful and happy to help..... My room was spacious and very well maintained even the cleaning lady was very pleasant and willing to help with any minor problems... there was clean bedding and towels every day and all tea. coffee and water replaced without a problem..... the only problem in the room was the T.V.... having no English channels of note to watch.... so what is the But with this hotel....... NOISE...... the hotel is situated on soi 3 and is very busy and very noisy.. combined with the noise coming from the beach road and I mean from 6 0'clock in the morning.... the buses park up outside the hotel and are on the go from early in the morning.... yes I am a light sleeper and the noise did become a problem..... unfortunately I can say that I will not be staying at the hotel again purely because of the incessant noise..... I did ask for a similar room on the higher floor but could not be accommodated unfortunately.....
Rooms Clean and Tidy Breakfast became a bit boring after day 5, same everyday. Staff friendly. Location great, far enough away from walking street for families, but close enough to major shopping mall Santa Marina and beach across the road. Would not recommend swimming at Pattaya Beach, use the pool. Do recommend taking the family to Koh Larn for the day, catch the ferry from the Pier in Pattaya, 30Bht eachway on the ferry. Beaches are clean and the food is tasty. Enjoy.
We had a great stay in this hotel. The price is slightly cheaper than the A-one royal cruise and we were given high floor nice sea view room (room 3804), can catch sunset (but was cloudy day during our stay 22-26Feb). The beach is right across the road. Is really a well designed hotel with wheelchair accessible up to 8th floor (highest) for emergency escape. Is also near (10mins walk) to the shopping area (Central Marina) where they have the fast food, Big C, etc. Staff are friendly. The breakfast buffet spread was normal (comes with sushi!?). You can access to all the 4 swimming pools (not really big) from all the 3 A-One hotels. Local bus is only THB10/pax, you can hop into any of them as is only one direction (along the Pattaya beach). Is also near some pubs, but not near till you can hear the music at night. Is also near to the Alcazar cabaret show (15mins walk) as well as Tiffany Show. The teddy bear museum is right beside this hotel. I would say this is a nice choice of hotel chosen by my partner. One point is they don't have iron & ironing board in the room, maybe you will need to request for it.
My friend and I stayed in Pattaya for 3 days during our trip to Thailand. We booked to stay at this hotel. Check in was very slow as they couldn't find our booking, staff could speak minimal English and were not very helpful. However for the price, the rooms in the beach wing are nice and the facilities thought out all the A-one complexes are nice especially the main pool area. There isn't a hotel or room information directory so just got to wing it. We had breakfast included with our room, it wasn't great but did the job.
