Peaceful stay

The property was immaculate and clean on arrival. It was very hot outside and the inside was cool and breezy with doors open, no fans needed. And no insects came inside at all! So peaceful and relaxing. The shower pressure was amazing!! So impressed by this accommodation would stay again in a heartbeat. My husband was on crutches but the car access to the private beach made it nice and easy for us. One thing that would have made it perfect would have been a washing machine onsite. But it gave me a reason to buy more clothes in the town. We found the trip back to Whangarei a gorgeous drive and did the trip a few days while on our stay. The restaurants catered for my allergies, which is normally an issue for me. Overall absolutely amazing holiday. Feel refreshed and ready for 2024 :)

Perfect for a relaxing break.

We had an amazing time at this charming property! It was super clean and has everything you need for a relaxing and rejuvenating break. The location is so good, a really easy walk to the surf beach or a short drive to the estuary which is perfect for small children. The property also provides great information for other walks in the area. I would recommend bringing all your food supplies as the nearest shops are back in Whangarei. Our two little ones had a ball playing in the fenced garden and the neighboring horses were a huge hit. I would highly recommend staying here and we cannot wait to come again.

Perfect cottage for a beach break

Pataua had a special place in my heart as I spent summer holidays here as a child in a proper Kiwi Bach with an outside loo. So, it was lovely to return as an adult and enjoy the higher levels of comfort of this small but perfectly furnished cottage. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Very relaxing and nice and quiet. Cottage was lovely and clean with a cosy feel. Not good when raining as there is no dining seating inside only on an open deck.. Fireplace was Beautiful and bush walks were nearby. Our daughter enjoyed the horses outside very friendly. Thankyou to owners you have a lovely property.

Peaceful with own beach access

Our girls were thrilled to have such friendly horses right in the paddock by the house, and our own private access to a beautiful beach was amazing. Will definitely be back.

Beautiful cosy getaway

Just two of us stayed in this cosy getaway that could fit up to 5 people. We enjoyed the lovely setting looking over farmland and with four horses as neighbours. The cooking facilities and bathroom were very nice and we appreciated the eco-friendly products that were throughout. We got to head out in the kayaks on the estuary thanks to the farmhand taking them down on their trailer. Would highly recommend staying here and we look forward to coming back again soon!
