Pet Friendly Ranch with Fire Pit, BBQ and Pool!
Welcome to Oak Pass Wine Away Ranch. This 1600 sf 3BR, 2BA newly updated ranch-style home is located in Paso's Eastside, just off Route 46. Just minutes from the Eastside's best wineries: Tobin James, Eberle, Cass, Bianchi, Steinbeck, Pear Valley and dozens of others. You're also minutes to Paso's latest attraction, Sensorio, Hunter Ranch Golf Course and Vina Robles Amphitheatre, where you can catch some of the biggest acts. Coming to Paso for the Rodeo, or Country Fair? No problem. We're pet friendly...feel free to bring your dog, cow or horse. We can accommodate your trailers too!
And after a day at the rodeo, you can jump in the pool to cool off or get a massage at SLO County Massage, located right on the property. We highly suggest booking your appointments well in advance.
SLEEPING ACCOMMODATIONS The master bedroom en suite features a king size bed, a separate sitting room and it's own bath with a tub/shower combination. It also has a 55" TV for your viewing pleasure. The other two bedrooms have queen beds and share the 2nd bathroom. There is also a queen size murphy bed with sheets, blankets and pillows to accommodate 2 more.
LIVING & ENTERTAINING (interior) The spacious living room has a 42" TV angled in the corner so it can be seen from the open concept dining area and kitchen. The living room has plush couches and a chair with seating for 7. The living room also has a wood-burning pot-belly stove to those brisk Paso nights in the fall and winter.
The dining area, with a large table and seating for 6 is an extension of the well-equipped kitchen. The kitchen boasts stainless steel appliance including a Maytag French door refrigerator, a GE Microwave oven and a 6-burner stove with dual oven combo. A plethora of small appliances, including a freshly-grinding coffee and tea maker, a Vitamix and dinner service allow you to feed a crowd. There's plenty of prep space on the new quartz counters and large peninsula with two stools for the chef's audience to sit and sip while keeping the cook entertained.
LIVING & ENTERTAINING (exterior) Outside there is a covered back patio with enough seating for 14 people. The cover patio is lit with string lights for nighttime entertaining. The fire pit/BBQ combination is the perfect spot to throw on some steaks while you uncork your newest Paso Wine acquisition.
While cooking up some grub, the kids can play in the pool that is gated, fenced and above ground. After dinner they can swim a bit more or play some rounds of corn hole or ladder toss.
We also have 2 fenced in pet areas and hiking trails for fido to have some fun.
THE IMMEDIATE AREA You're in a perfect area to explore the Eastside Wineries. Just minutes from Tobin James, Barr, Bianchi, Steinbeck and Pear Valley, you don’t have to go far for the action. It's also close to Paso's newest sensation, Sensorio. This light show extravaganza is a "must-see" experience when visiting Paso. You're also close to Hunter Ranch Golf Course and Vina Robles Amphitheatre where you can take in some amazing acts.
You're 15 minutes to downtown Paso and 30 minutes to the beach.
PROVISIONS There is a Smart & Final on Spring and 20th street in downtown, along with an Albertson's on Niblick Road. A bit further to the south and you'll find Trader Joe's and Pier 46 Fish Market in Templeton.
RESTAURANTS Paso Restaurants are aplenty! What's your desire: Italian, Irish, French, Mexican, Asian, Argentinean, Organic or Seafood? Paso has them all and more.
Venture to Templeton and you can find even more fantastic restaurants. One of my favorites is McPHee's Grill. AJ Spurs and Nino also offer delicious Western fare.
ACTIVITIES There is SO MUCH to do on the Central Coast. Of course there is wine tasting, beer tasting, cider tasting and spirits tasting. But after the tongue is worn out, you could play some golf at Hunter Ranch or Paso Robles Golf Club, take in concert at Vina Robles Amphitheatre, or zip line over the vines in Santa Margarita.
Venture out to the local towns. Go antiquing in Cambria. Visit the Elephant Seals and Hearst Castle in San Simeon. Collect shells on Moonstone Beach. Drive an ATV on the beach at the Oceano Dunes. Check out the fantastic Farmer's Markets - Saturdays in downtown Templeton and Thursday nights in San Luis Obispo. Days of endless fun awaits you on the Central Coast.
FOR THOSE WHO BRING THEIR PETS, WE HAVE A FEW RULES: 1.) No pets on any furniture ever! 2.) No pets can be left unattended inside the house unless in a crate. 3.) You must clean up after they do their business outside. 4.) There is a $100 pet fee.
The vacation home is air-conditioned and features a kitchen, 2 bathrooms, and a patio, and there's space to spread out with 3 bedrooms. Guests can enjoy a Smart TV and stay connected with free WiFi. Other standard amenities include a private pool, a washing machine, and a fireplace.

All in all
All in all a nice place and welcoming owners. We kept pretty busy the entire weekend So we did not get to enjoy the pool. I would say it could’ve been a little cleaner around the pool area and spiderwebs around the deck. The kitchen linings were older and could be updated with new. In the house rules, it does say to load the dishwasher with dishes before you leave, but there was no dishwasher or at least that we could find.

A gem in wine country
We came with our friends from Texas to enjoy the town and wine tasting. We enjoyed 7 wineries and lots a great food. We were able to cook many meals at home and sit outside and enjoy our wine. Our puppy enjoyed all the outdoor areas and long walks in the neighborhood.

Comfy stay
The house was great and plenty of space for all us. The bedrooms were comfy and spacious which was nice. The drive time into downtown Paso Robles from the house wasn’t bad at all, easily only 10-15 minutes. We didn’t get to use the outside patio and pool due the rain while we were there but definitely a good addition for a day of relaxing and hanging around the house. Overall our stay was great and had no issues with check in and checkout, it was comfy, quiet, and overall relaxing.

Rural but plenty of amenities!
The location is about 15-20 minutes away from downtown Paso; that being said, it is quite rural (gravel road) and lots of sort of dilapidated houses around.
The house itself is well maintained and has everything you could need; the kitchen is super well stocked, and all bathrooms have all showered necessities- plus extra toothbrushes, qtips, soap, etc.
There is a cool outdoor fire pit, but bring your own wood! The pool is a nice respite on a hot day!
There was a flag out front we couldn’t place and it made us a bit uncomfortable; likely comes with the territory of where this home is located.

Pretty Perfect
Kathy, let us check in a little bit early but unfortunately we weren't able to because we needed to be at the horse park.
Stay was great. The only downfall was there was no dishwasher and we kept some food in the fridge and we're going to come back for it but the cleaner had already dumped out our containers.

Thanksgiving
We had a great time, the kitchen was well stocked for preparing our thanksgiving dinner! We cooked breakfast every morning, and most dinners so the cooking utensils were great. The house was very spacious, and the five us and our two dogs were very comfortable. We really liked the rural location, we were away from the hustle but still a short distance from groceries and wineries. We really enjoyed our family time in Paso and would recommend this rental!!
