The property was beautiful. Swimming in the ocean was amazing. The tide is strong so keep that in mind for young kids.

The pool was crystal clear and perfect temperature. The staff were so understanding about my idioma pobre. They had fun teaching me new words. Bring bug spray for the beach. There us nothing the hotel can do about the biters on the beach. I had a marvelous black sand beach all to myself

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Cocomar, I booked this hotel because I felt it was a true Costa Rican experience without American standards. The breakfast was delicious, the beach was completely secluded and all to ourselves, the room was clean and the A/C was cold! The staff was very welcoming and helpful, we spoke to one of the owners on several occasions and he was great. Would recommend!

Cosy and relaxing stay. Great if you want to svoid the overrun beaches.

We enjoyed while staying there. Very quiet and retired spot.

What an excellent hotel at a beautiful beach with a wonderful owner (Chad) and his fabulous staff! From the second we walked into reception, we were greeted so warmly! We had discussed our planned activities and Chad had recommended the Monkey Mangrove Tour (which wasn't on our list), but trust me when I say....you can trust him and any recommendations he makes for you and your family (it was one of the best experiences on our trip)! We absolutely loved our 3 night stay at Cocomar and we were sad to leave. The location is great, right outside of town, nice and quiet, but convenient when you head out for your adventures! The sunsets are gorgeous, the beach is pristine, and we even played a little beach volleyball! The Cocomar has a wonderful pool that is warm enough to walk right into, but cool enough to ease you from the days heat. They have a restaurant on site, which the food was ok, but it was definitely a great convenience from when you were too exhausted from playing all day to head back out. I hate to say anything negative, because we had nothing but fun and absolutely loved our time here. We would HIGHLY RECOMMEND the Cocomar Beachfront Resort!!!

Loved our stay here. It is tucked away in a corner and the beach and the premises are gorgeous. The staff is very friendly and pool is open 24 hrs. The breakfast was excellent. Nice to come back to peace and quiet after a long day of excursions. Highly recommend.

living here is as if I were stay at Malibu. The staff is super nice too. (I was writing a lot about the good experience there, but lost internet connection suddenly, don't want to re-write everything.)

It is close to the beach --- but the beach is rather unusable... The sand-flies are horrible in this area. The hotel itself is dated and tired, the beds are uncomfortable. But unless you want to eat dinner at the hotel --- there is not much else around. The dirt road in front makes a lot of dust... Just not a pleasant experience.

This resort is very nice and the people who operate it are equally nice. Chad, Victor and Sarah were most obliging. It is remote, down a long stony road, on a remote beach. Very nice grounds. Very nice breakfast and dining porch, looking toward the beach. Place has a naturalist attitude. A very pleasant stay, off the beaten track. Had a flat tire and Victor changed it for me and the owner took it to town and got it fixed for me. Can't beat that for service.

The staff was outstanding. The location was a little off the beaten path, but very enjoyable. Will definitely visit again!

our group with two families lived in Cocomar for three days and very satisfied about our stay. The staffs were very friendly and helpful. They told us about nearby attractions and even offered us free ride to restaurants and to see little sea turtles. The owner's wife cooked breakfast for us. That was delicious. And the beach is beautiful, and kids had lots of fun. The only thing is, they don't have crib for my son. However, we managed to connect two sofa chairs to make a crib for him, and he was pretty happy.
