Excellent location in Parma

Hotel Stendhal, Parma is an excellent hotel with friendly, helpful staff. Rooms, Breakfasts etc. were excellent, agian with excellent, friendly service. The location is central, beside the Piazza della Pace and Teatro Regio. Several super restaurants within a few minutes walk.

VERY NOISY

Great location and staff - TERRIBLY NOISY!!! Situated on a plaza across from Palazzo Pilotta, we were kept up way past midnight by screaming people, barking dogs, revving motorcycles and other street sounds. Then there was the smoke from people smoking below our windows that kept floating into our room. There was no AC, so given the stuffiness of the room,we wanted air. Not an option to open windows. The image on the website of the balcony with chairs is actually a lie. There is no outdoor seating. That terrace in the image pertain to the condo in the hotel, not to the hotel rooms. All the faux decor and the efforts to reawaken the 18th century, get lost in the noise that left us sleep deprived and exhausted. By the way, there is NO PLACE to hang towels the reuse of which is to save the planet.
