Mercure Paris Opéra Louvre4.0 out of 5.0

We were supposed to be in a superior room but maybe as we asked for a quiet room this equalled small. The room itself is very basic. We have stayed at much better Mercure hotels in the UK. The bathroom was so small. The bed was rock hard, it made for an uncomfortable nights sleep. We didn't take the breakfast as was 19 euro for buffet and as I have allergies it wasn't worth the price for me. The saving grace was the quiet location at the back of the hotel and the general location which was a short walk from Opera. The shower was awful and flooded the floor. It could be a much better hotel but not by any means the worst.
The so called "hotel" is situated in the center of Paris, ideal to walk to all relevant hot spots of Paris: La Seine, Tuilleries, Montmatre, Opera, Louvre, Lafayette, Blvd. Haussman --- all in walking distance. We had a lovely rooftop room with a nice balcony - all fine. What we missed, was the "hotel": No lobby, no restaurant, a reception like a pension, the welcome drink had to be filled up in a glass which was taken from the receptionist out of staircase cupboard, used bottles from guestes before were still in our room-fridge, shampoo and sope was missing -- well...
The room is one of the smallest of all Mercure properties I have stayed in. The bathroom, in particular, was so cramped that you bump your face every time you use the shawer. Only saving grace is the location. Passable breakfast, with staff not trained to the "mercure" level.
Stayed at the Mercure in a room on the 3rd floor towards rue Richelieu. The hotel is well located between the boulevard, the louvre and the Marais. But rue de Richelieu is very noisy! The design of the hotel is pleasant. The beds are ok but not so highly comfortable. The reception staff is very friendly. The breakfast is good.
We can't understand how this could be rated as a 4 star hotel. It has some good points, location, good breakfast, helpful and friendly staff, bit it's not romantic, not an inviting hotel, room was small, shower sprays water all over the floor, hard as concrete mattress, old towels, no slippers, minimal toiletries. We ended up leaving early and going to somewhere else to ensure we had a memorable end to our stay in Paris. Might be OK for a business traveller (fine for me), and this is from a couple that has travelled extensively for work and leisure, and I'm also an Accor member - I'll be much more careful in the future to understand what review questions were asked and how relevant that is, ie, clean & value doesn't always mean it's 4 star, and whilst TripAdvisor is usually accurate, it must be a lot of people have no idea. Basically, if you go to Paris for romance, do lots of research and spend a bit extra to really enjoy it. We can recommend the InterContinental Paris Le Grand.
We've had a wonderful stay in this Mercure hotel. Ideally situated, we easily walked down to le Louvre or up to Montmartre. We were very close to the big department stores too and around the corner could choose from a wide range of cafés, restaurants, etc. The room was spacious, very clean and so quiet! Every member of the staff, whether in the breakfast lounge, at the reception desk or the cleaning staff, was welcoming, smiling and very professional. We highly recommend this hotel and will go stay there again and again!
This hotel offers a good bed in a great location. But that's about it. Rooms are small and the hallways are in need of an update. I had a lot of problems with my key. The hotel has nothing that makes it charming or outstanding.
My stay was for business and it went really well. The room was small, but everything needed was there. The location was very convenient for me as is it close to my office. The breakfast was really good.
Was there last summer . Initially stayed at the hotel opposite it . But due to that hotel (hotel du Leman) had no air condition nor fan 😩in the room. Went on to Trip Advisor the very night that I was there as i couldn't stand the heat anymore . Found Mercure Paris Opera Louvre and the price was just a little more then Leman and it was just diagonally across the road . Booked it right away and moved the next day . Unfortunately I wasn't able to get my refund even though I checked out 1 night earlier . When I checked into the Mercure the next day . I received a very warm and friendly welcome from the reception. The gentlemen at the front desk was very nice . When I told him I have always love the rooms With a full window (works like a balcony door but it's just a window). He said he ll do his best to get one for me . The room was clean and modern . I love it !! It even has a nespresso machine for coffee !! The air condition is adjustable . The bed was very comfortable . Although it's a boutique hotel but it comes with breakfast too, can't remember how much it was but I remembered it's pretty reasonable . I ll definitely go back there again.
The location of the hotel is very convenient for those who like shopping and also going to louvre museum. As all of these place could be arrive by walking. Food is also easily found outside the hotel. The only inconvenience is the lift as it very small but you can't complain because you are staying in a few hundred years old buildings. Some room is small but cosy. Photo taken is outside my room.
