The room was decent, nice and clean with a small en-suite. Large windows kept the room nice and cool, and there was a hairdryer which was a bonus. Unfortunately the 'double bed' turned our to be two single beds pushed together, which was a little inconvenient. It's in an excellent location due to the closeness of Gare du Nord, and it is very good value for money, being fairly inexpensive.
Location wise is good,5 mins walk from garu du nord terminal.. Room small. bed looks clean but carpet flooring looks dirty. Toilet doesn't have proper water drainage. Service worst,we asking for glass because we bought big water bottle, they replied we buy in supermarket😰😰😰 I want to cry..I will never ever book this hotel again...In paris you can see a lot of hotel around the area...
I stayed in this hotel twice in a week upon arrival and just before departure from my stay in France. The first room was definitely better than the second so it may be worth asking for a view (the second was looking out the back of the hotel). It's located not 5 minutes away from the Gare du Nord so is very well located for the Eurostar. Had a charm about it for sure. I would probably have given it 4 stars if only based on the first room but the second room wasn't as nice and proved a pretty noisy night too.
Relatively cheaper than other hotels in Paris at only €62 euro per night. Although room was also relatively spacious, it smelled musty. Lock on the door does not work. Even after locking, you can easily open from the outside with card. Lock unlocks automatically when opened. 2 bath towels and 1 face towel was provided. Refrained from using bath towel as one looked greyish and the other had brown stains. No fan or AC but will not be hot at night. Hotel allows storage of luggage before check-in or after check-out. Ok to stay for a night or two if catching a train at Gare Du Nord. Person tending reception was nice. Reminded us a few times not to keep cash in backpack.
Arrived in Paris and in the sweltering heat, we got a room without air-conditioning or a fan. Apparently, there was none in the hotel at all. Which is fine if it wasn't hot. After a sleepless night, we actually considered getting another hotel (which we did after the second night of 3). To top it all, other basics expected of a 3-star hotel like a safe or a small fridge were not there (the latter being extremely important in the heat). The worst part is that they insist that you hand over the room key when you leave the hotel and the cleaning staff kept the windows open after cleaning up the room perfunctorily. Overall, not a good experience. Had a much better stay in other hotels in Paris. On the positive side, the rooms were as shown in the pictures and as spacious as expected
Having stayed in a number of Paris hotels in this price bracket that were fairly basic and scruffy, I was very impressed by the Metropole. The furnishings and fittings all look new, the air con is effective , good soundproofing from street noise , decent shower, and they even have a kettle in the room . The location is lively and convenient. I'll be coming back here next time I'm in Paris .
We had a double room, which was small but clean and it had a tiny balcony and so it wasn't claustrophobic. The staff was very helpful and polite. Nice mattress which is very important after a long day full of walking! The neighborhood isn't the best and safest in the world but... OK... Unfortunately there is only one plug apart from the one occupied by the TV in the room so if you need more than one you'd better have a power bank with you!!!
Very unprofessional and rude behavior with guests. We were two families who booked this hotel two months earlier but when we landed at the hotel, they had cancelled booking of one of the family. Compact room, poor breakfast, no service at all.....just stay away
Quick check in, friendly staff (who we overpaid by accident as 2 20 euros were stuck to each other and the receptionist realised and gave it us back so very honest) and the location is very good-close to the gare du nord, which makes it very easy to get to from the airport as you can just get the train. Our room- double and a single bed was a decent size for 3 people compared to some other hotels iv'e been in. Good value for money. I would return to this hotel.
location is 200 metres from Gare Du Nord! and is surrounded by restaurants and cafes! highly recommend the hotel, staff were very helpful. very polite, we only used the hotel to sleep. but the room was large and clean. I don't look for much more than that in hotels.
