My partner and I stayed here for a short weekend break. The location (14th) was fantastic, close to most things but not particularly tourist centric. We felt like we were enjoying a more authentic Paris. The staff at the hotel were lovely and the vibe is comfortable and Paris chic. The breakfast was great too. On check in we were told that they served the best pastries in Paris, only to realise that they did indeed serve...the best pastries in Paris! Next door is a bakery that has won awards for their products! Ha! Good coffee and a quality continental breaky served with a smile was a great start to the day. All in all, top time and we will be staying again.

We had stayed at Hotel de la Paix many times in the past. It was sold and re-named Hotel Leopold two weeks before our arrival. We had booked a twin "superior" room and were disappointed to receive a room so small that the twin beds were pushed up against one another and had only one small chair as that was all that could fit in the room. There was no other furniture--only small shelves attached to the wall. The bathroom was the size of an airplane bathroom. Check in time was 2 p.m. I emailed the week before to advise that my flight was to arrive at 1 p.m. and that I should be at the hotel about 2:30 p.m. Despite a 2 p.m. check in time, my room was not ready until after 4 p.m. The next day we left early and got back late afternoon. We were shocked to find that the housekeeper had left our door ajar and unlocked all day. She also left cleaning supplies in the bathroom and no toilet paper. Needless to say, we were upset that our room was left unsecured all day. When we reported to the manager, he just said "oh, it is her first day", as if that made it all okay. The hotel was understaffed and when 4 tables were full for breakfast, it was chaos. I had to ask several times for coffee. Most of the items that were listed for breakfast were not offered. The server seemed untrained and inexperienced. The final insult was that on the last day when we were leaving for the airport, we had to wait forever for the elevator for our luggage. (We were on the fifth floor and there is only one very small lift.) Then I realized that the housekeeper was using the one and only lift to carry a small stack of towels between floors! There are many other, much better hotels in the area. We will stay elsewhere next trip. We had loved the great staff at Hotel de la Paix. Apparently, they were let go and new, untrained staff were hired.

We booked this hotel for a long weekend. The hotel is well located, close to the Montparnasse cemetery, with a few restos and cafes within close proximity. The hotel is quite quirky, nice rooms, very clean, interesting décor, generally good breakfast. The reasons we did not give it 5 stars are because our first room had some problems with it, and we had to move rooms (which the staff did very efficiently); and because the staff appeared to not be fully trained - breakfast was a little hit and miss, and they did not know the area very well. Recommended.

Arrived at 2am due to flight delay and taxi driver could not find it due to poor signage in the dark. Luckily they have 24 hour reception. Ground floor split into small breakfast area and sitting area with large counter for reception/bar. Lift is tiny! Our ‘deluxe’ room had large comfy bed with big smart tv on wall. One chair and one poof and fitted wardrobe so very minimal. Fancy light fittings seem to be a feature of this hotel. Great that there are plugs for USB cables in room. Kettle, tea and coffee maker provided plus free water bottle on first night. Bathroom is tiny though. No soap only gel. No conditioner provided. Needs a loo roll holder as no where really to put it apart from high shelf above toilet. The continental Breakfast was really chaotic. Only 2 staff who could not cope with number of guests and serving the breakfast and clearing up. They ran out of bread and sent someone out to boulangerie. It was delicious when it finally came, but could be much better organised. Also tables are very close together, so a bit of a squash. Location is great. Quiet a quiet street but just found the corner from busy Montparnasse eateries and cafes. Also only a 10 min walk to lovely Jardins de Luxembourg. Montparnasse cemetery worth a quick look and is just opposite.

Managed to book this last minute for a quick getaway with my partner, The staff are friendly and spoke perfect English. The room was amazing, clean and comfortable. Was an ideal location. A very safe area (which was a concern for me) and close to both the RER line and Metro (was a life saver when being on your feet all day).

Small, but nicely appointed hotel. Stayed in the "superior room." Bed was very comfortable and we slept well. Staff was wonderful. Downsides are small shower with no shelf. Also could not turn on the bathroom light without also turning on the main light in the bedroom. Kind of noisy with people/children going up/down the stairs.
