Great location, right next to Pont Cardinet station which was great for access to the centre and Versailles. Room was small but pleasant, staff were friendly also. There are many good restaurants and shops close by. Amazing value for Paris.

Disappointing Stay – Not Worth the Price We stayed at Hotel Gaston for 5 nights, and unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations. First, housekeeping is not automatic—you have to request it. We asked once during our stay, and they didn’t come. We had to follow up two more times before the room was finally cleaned. Even then, the service was minimal: they only replaced the towels and emptied the trash. No bed-making, no bathroom cleaning. The breakfast is very basic and repetitive—it felt like the same items were just recycled every day with no variety or freshness. The hotel also had an unpleasant smell on some days when we returned, making it feel far from welcoming. On top of that, you’re required to leave your room key at reception every time you leave, which feels outdated and inconvenient. The room itself is extremely small—barely enough space for one person, let alone two. You constantly bump into the TV, and the bed isn’t suitable for taller guests (my legs were hanging off the edge). It’s not a good option for couples or even two friends. There’s also no fridge, no iron, and no basic amenities you’d expect for the price. The only good thing about the hotel is its location—the area around it is nice and convenient. But overall, for the price we paid, we could’ve booked something much better. Would not recommend.

Affordable but Basic

Rooms are very small, hardly even room to store luggage. Metro Station is a 10 minute walk and a Carrefour grocery store is next to the station. Breakfast is basic continental fare. The hotel room doors use actual metals keys which you need to return to the front desk every time you leave the hotel. The internet works unless it rains a great deal and starts to flood. Then it goes off and the elevator stops working. AC is good. No refrigerator in room. No access to ice.

Although the rooms were smaller than we were used to everything was super clean and in a really nice area and easily accessible to restaurants and everything you need. It was nice to be away from any major attractions and on a quiet street so we could sleep. Everyone at the front desk was absolutely amazing and lovely and super accommodating and helped us arrange taxis and whatever else we needed.

Quirky Parisian hotel. Staff very helpful. 8 minutes walk to Metro - easy access to all Paris sights. Decor rather esoteric! Room comfortable and functional.
