Our recent stay at the Goa Marriott Resort was a mixed experience. While the resort itself is a comfortable and well-maintained property, the customer service leading up to our arrival was unfortunately quite poor, and a key amenity was not as advertised.
The rooms were clean, spacious, and provided a great level of comfort. The hotel's location is also a major plus, offering beautiful views and a peaceful atmosphere. We had no complaints about the physical property or the general upkeep; it truly lives up to the Marriott standard in that regard.
However, the experience was tainted before we even got there. Multiple attempts to contact the hotel with pre-arrival questions went unanswered or were met with frustratingly slow responses. But once we arrived, the service was excellent. the decor of our bed on our anniversary night was a pleasant surprise.
A significant point of disappointment was the advertising of a private beach and seafront dining. We specifically chose this resort based on that feature, but quickly learned upon arrival that there is no private beach. The access is to a public beach, and the seafront BBQ which we reserved was not available, which is a major difference and a misleading claim. This false advertising was a significant letdown and impacted our overall vacation plans.
In summary, the Goa Marriott Resort is a beautiful place for a comfortable and relaxing stay.
