Really not sure what Digbyl is talking about. This is a grossly overrated hotel at 4 stars, quite the worst I have stayed in in Spain while on holiday. A very average business hotel. It's views over the equivalent of B&Q, Sainsburys hyper market and Bluewater shopping complex with the local electrical substation thrown in are less than attractive. The buses to the city centre are regular and cheap so able to escape but stop at 1030. If you don't eat at the hotel your choice is MacDonalds, or the food court unless you want to travel right into the city. As to the hotel, average check in staff, surly bar and restaurant staff made a poor impression. The room was standard business style, the sink is designed not to have a plug leaking shaving wasteful of water, no soap dish in the leaky shower. The large heavy glass sliding doors of the wardrobe were missing a handle so there was a 1 inch diameter hole in the glass instead which when the 2 doors were slid, presented an amputation hazard. On Sunday's there is no room service and no cafe bar service unless the restaurant is open (at 8 pm). Just astonished at the lack of facilities and need for maintenabce
The hotel is located in a commercial area nearby Pamplona. It takes about 5 minutes by car to reach the centre. There is a free parking in the underground or a free parking lot in front of the hotel. Room was really comfortable, newly furnished and very clean. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was not included in the price of the room but i decided to have It and It was good. Good Gym located in the underground.
Located on the outskirts of the city. Good access, with shopping center a few meters. Parking uncovered at the same entrance. Spacious and clean room. Unfriendly staff. Breakfast very bad, horrible coffee machine, without natural juice, not covering the minimum for a hotel of its category.
Still THE hotel we judge others by. The reception is always great, the rooms spotless. Easy parking, great breakfast and the dinner just seems to get better. The menu del dia got me salmon tartar & guacamole plus salad, a whole turbot cooked in oil & lemon (amazing), cheese tart & a big glass of wine + water. All this for 19 E. I just wish others hotels were this consistent.
We stayed here during San Fermin and had a great time. We were created by very friendly check in staff and they were able to help us with all of our requests (like what were good day trips and how to get in and out of the city). The rooms were spacious, even with three beds. Only thing is that it is not in the ideal location if you are going into town, but it's only 10-15 minutes and a 10 euro taxi ride to the center. During San Fermin, they do have a free courtesy shuttle to the center which is a HUGE BENEFIT so that you do not have to worry about driving or parking. Don't be alarmed because it looks like it is in an industrial area, that was one of our worries BUT it is a very nice hotel and close to a nice shopping mall (La Morea). Their gym was nice and had a few machines and free weights. If you are going with friends and family, the bathroom situation may become slightly awkward because the bathroom door is a sliding glass door that is frosted in the middle so you cannot see it, but it is definitely NOT soundproof and if you bend down then yes you are visible from the rest of the room. Would stay again!
Our travel agent made all the arrangements for us. I usually like staying in town where I can walk to everything but ended up very happy with the fact that she picked this hotel. They are all set up to accommodate you with all the details and tickets for any event you wish to attend. They also provide a shuttle that runs every 15 minutes to take you to town. You do not want to stay in the middle of the craziness is you want to get any sleep at all. The staff is incredible, their restaurant has really good food as well. So far the best out of the 3 hotels during our trip around Spain.
Hotel is about 10mins drive to the city centre. I believe there is also a bus you can take to the town centre but as we had a car, we just drove in and parked just outside the walls. Hotel provides free undercover park but the car spaces are limited and small. Alternatively you can park in the outside area just in front of the hotel. In town, there is an elevator that you can take less than 5 mins walk from the free parking area and you are then within the city walls.
The only thing stopping this hotel from being excellent is its location on a retail park near a busy road. Fortuntately the hotel restaurant is fantastic and makes the location less of a problem. The hotel has a secure underground car park and the rooms are modern and spacious. The bathroom was particularly nice and it was a pleasant surprise to discover a large bath, not often found in Spain. There are limited gym facilities in the basement which are also a bonus. I would definitely stay here again and this hotel is ideal for a stopover.
The worst aspect of this hotel is the location, it is on an industrial estate !. However, the hotel is excellent. As there was nowhere nearby to eat or drink we used the facilities at the hotel and were pleasantly pleased with the service and quality of the food. Overall this hotel is excellent value.
Friendly in arrival but stuck into the routine of big hotel chain service. No ability to adjust to suit guest needs . When asked if we could sit outside and have a drink we were told to use the public concrete bench. The restaurant chairs which were stacked by the door were not available as the restaurant wasn't open. Really? You couldn't open the door and let us sit in the sun in a comfy chair? Shame on you hotel zenit!
