Holiday Inn Express Pamplona3.0 out of 5.0

Stayed there one night on the way home, situated in a shopping area outside the city, easy to park and to find places to eat. Comfortable as all holiday inn express, breakfast could be a bit better, and our room was next to the lift so we could hear the open/close doors
Excellent hotel, fabulous breakfast, extremely helpful staff. Ideally situated for exploring the city. Room was excellent, air conditioning worked a treat after a very hot week in southern Spain. Can recommend.
My son and I stayed here for three nights at the beginning of San Fermin. Whilst it is a bit away from the Pamplona city centre anything closer in is ridiculously expensive during San Fermin (not that the Holiday Inn was cheap but it was on the lower end of the scale). Transport to/from the centre is fairly easy - we took the #11 bus at a cost of 1.60 Euro, or you could take a taxi. The shopping mall across the road (note it was closed on the Friday 7th which was a public holiday) was a perfect place to buy the white pants, shirt etc that you need to join in the festivities (cost between 20-25 Euros all up). The hotel gave us complimentary red scarves. Our room was good - very clean and everything looking fairly new. The bathroom in particular was clean and quite spacious. Wi-fi worked well in the room and the TV had a wide range of channels and also access to apps like Netflix. The beds were clean and comfortable. There were no tea/coffee facilities in the room but that didn't really bother us. Also there was no shampoo or conditioner provided but there is an Aldi next door to the hotel so we just picked up some from there. There is also a McDonalds a short walk away. On the mornings of the bull runs during San Fermin the hotel helpfully puts on a coach to take guests in to the town centre. It cost 3.5Euro per person and departed at 6.15am (it's about a 10-15 minute trip). This gets you in to the centre with plenty of time to watch the run from the end in the stadium but if you want to watch it from along the route and actually see something then you might be better off heading in earlier via a taxi. We found we were able to watch the nightly fireworks from the window at the end of the corridor on our floor (2nd). We tried the included breakfast twice during our stay - on the first morning it was a basic continental breakfast (coffee, juice, toast, fruit etc) which was more than adequate. On the last day of our stay (a Saturday) it also included bacon & eggs and a staff member was offering people glasses of champagne! Handy to note that, on the bull run days at least, they have a basic coffee and pastry offering in the breakfast area from 5.30am. The best part of our stay would have to be the high level of service from the hotel staff. Every one we dealt with was extremely welcoming, polite and helpful. I would definitely stay here again should I come back to Pamplona one day.
Highly recommended hotel in Pamplona. We had a great stay at this hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It is located in a quiet area a few km away from the city centre, but it's not a problem at all. There's a bus that runs every 20 minutes between this area (the bus stand is about 3 minutes walk from the hotel) and the city centre. Aldi supermarket is just in front the hotel and there are many shops and departmental stores around. Lots of parking places (free of charge). Excellent buffet breakfast. One of the best buffet breakfast we ever had in a hotel. All the food served was very fresh and replaced as soon as they finished. It's not expensive and really great value for the price we paid. The room is spacious and clean. The bed is big and very comfortable. We slept really well. The shower is great with a bath tub and clean towels. There's a nice sofa and TV and free wifi. Thank you for a very nice stay in Pamplona.
If you are looking for an hotel just to spend the night and move on, this is a very good bet. The hotel is placed near a city exit, and yet close to the city center, clean and with the basics.supermarket nearby
Easy to find location although not really near anything in Pamplona .....OK if you are just travelling through and for an overnight stop it's just off the road. Great WIFI Comfy bed and large bath. Super breakfast with loads of choice and very helpful sta
We tried this hotel for a change,as we normally use others,we were very pleased,as it was in a good area, also the car was secured in an underground car park, great to relax after a long drive. The beds were very clean and comfortable, only downside no facilities for making tea or coffee provided in rooms.but otherwise very good value.the breakfasts were also very good.a lot of choices.Continental breads ,meats ,cereal.tea and coffees.cakes and pastries too! We will definitely use again.
I stayed in this hotel in early December 2016. Booked the hotel based on positive reviews on TripAdvisor. I always find it difficult to rate budget hotels when compared to four or five-star establishments. As a budget hotel, it will clearly fall short of the standards you would expect of other more luxurious offerings, but giving it a low overall rating based on this would be an injustice. There is no room service, mini bar, exclusive restaurant etc but these issues are of no concern to me when the price is so competitive. On that basis, it is only fair to give this hotel a minimum of a 4 rating. The hotel is located in an industrial/retail zone south of Pamplona. I expected this and it was not a problem. Access is reasonably good and there is no problem with parking as there were plenty of free spaces when we were there. The staff member at reception was friendly, professional and efficient. The room was basic. Not very large, but not cramped either. Not a problem as this was a one night stay and I wouldn't be hanging around the room other than when sleeping. Bed was very comfortable and the linen was clean. The bathroom was basic but clean. Couldn't find fault. Breakfast the following morning was basic and self-service. There was no member of staff serving in the room. Again, this was not a problem. The range of food on offer was sufficient and the quality acceptable. The dining area was clean and spacious. Checking out was efficient and without incident. The final bill was exactly as quoted when making the booking - there were no extra charges etc. The only reservation I would have about this hotel is the level of sound proofing in the rooms. It was possible to hear people talking on their phones in adjacent rooms and in the corridors outside my room. Other than the potential sound problem I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.
We had a car and were happy to stay outside Pamplona. We found free parking near the Puenta de Magdalena and had a lovely 15 minute walk to Playa de Toros, across a bridge, up an elevator. The service was excellent and room and bathroom very clean. We will stay again.
Typical Ikea-style Holiday Inn Express. The room was nice sized, the shower and WiFi strong. Pretty good breakfast. Lots of free parking. Hotel is in a general shopping mall area and not downtown but is easy on-off if you are heading out of Pamplona to other cities. Hotel is in the back and NOT easily seen from rhe road.
