Le Calette is a great place to stay. Great rooms, facilities and wonderful helpful people. From the front door through the entire staff they were all helpful and willing to fulfill any request. We were booked to stay only one night and extended a second night because we enjoyed it so much. Breakfast was well done with amazing views over the marina. Emanuele made sure the service was top notch. Mara (Marilena) at the front desk was very helpful in adding to our stay. Marta made sure our new room was ready for us. Help with luggage was never far away with Pepe and Daniele always close and willing to help. We had dinner one night in the restaurant again overlooking the marina. Francesco and "crew" did a great job. Great food, great service and a stunning view. Who could ask for more. Thank you to everyone for making our stay a memorable one.
I only want to show this video Lying by the pool to be woken up by the hammer sound of a Hilti drill going through concrete Don't go They did offer a drink to compensate for the noise. Not what you want to hear while sleeping by the pool on your holiday
Recently had two short stays here the first for 3 nights the 2nd for 2 nights, the setting is stunning as is the pool and rooms. Breakfast is the best in Sicily, the dinner in the restaurant was really good. Lovely location walkable to the town for a different dinner. My main problems have been with the staff, a little tweaking to provide a 5 star service and it would be a 5 star review. On our first visit the receptionist's had a big row in Italian in front of us and one stormed off and slammed a door, whatever the issues were these should not be shown in front of guests. We booked a early booking offer but were never offered the early booking perks "drinks and canapes" or the "free massages" on our 2nd stay after an hour of waiting for our bags to come to the room I walked to the car park ... there was the car parked up with our bags in, we went back got the car key and got them ourselves, it was all flat 15 second walk so no real hassle I just wish we had done it sooner!!! Breakfast staff, first stay I had to re-order my capachino, 2nd stay everyone else had eaten breakfast and I had to remind them I ordered an omelette. Housekeeping needs to be checked, first stay she didn't leave enough towels, 2nd stay unfortunately my partner had an upset stomach, the toilet didn't get cleaned so I had to resort to using my facial wipes .... I would have been way happier if I had disinfectant wipes! Lovely place just the service is letting it down.
Had a fantastic 5 days here, staff lovely place extremely clean, lovely pool area, went at the end of May bit quiet to start but got busier as days went on, staying in the family room in garden area and when 1st arrived late at night it looked a bit faded like it needed a face lift but it looked entirely different in the morning, rooms do look much more modern around the pool area and it would be good to make the garden rooms up to there standard, but having said that it was clean tidy and well maintained.
What a beautiful hotel in such a stunning location with fabulous and friendly service by all the staff. We travelled with another couple and we all loved this hotel. It's totally elegant & stylish. It's a Santorini feel crossed with a Vogue style. Ask for an upper level with an ocean view - it will not disappoint. From our bed we had a full vista of the beautiful blue sea. We drew down the insect screen and left the doors wide open all night - what a stunning way to wake up. The restaurant was beautiful so if you don't want to venture out you will definitely be very happy amongst the tall candelabras and the live piano music wafting up the stairs. We had pre dinner drinks by the pool and watched the sky turn hues of orange before having our delicious meal. We finished off a perfect night with a little dancing by the piano, enjoying the very talented pianist. Breakfast could not have been in a more stunning setting and had everything you could ever want. The freshly squeezed orange juice machine with an abundant supply of organic oranges was my favourite. Special mention to the concierge Derik who gave us the best restaurant tips, lots of valuable info about where to visit and couldn't do enough for us. Also special mention to Emanuel who provided great service at both breakfast and dinner.
My husband and I just came back from 9 days at Le Calette. The hotel is 1 mile from the town of Cefalu, which made it convenient to walk into town for shopping and dinner. The view from the hotel is gorgeous. You can swim in the pool, or the Mediterranean. They have several places to relax and enjoy the view. Breakfast was included, with a buffet or you could order eggs. They had the same thing everyday which I found boring. The service was a bit slow in the morning. We found ourselves asking for coffee more than one time at a sitting. It would have been nice to change the buffet choices. The hotel offers dinner which we had twice. The food was good. Our room was away from the main area, which was fine. Unfortunately, our room was right below their event center. My major problem with this hotel was that they frequently had weddings, and events, which caused increased noise and crowds. We were never informed that our room was going to be near all this. One night the band at the wedding was very loud. The manager said they asked them to lower the music, but that did not happen. I understand that - it was a wedding. The service wonderful. Shout out to Derik! He helped with places to go in the area. I would recommend this Hotel if you are going to Cefalu.
I would love to have given this hotel 5 stars as so much of it is magical. The staff are wonderful - from Marilena and her team of lovely ladies on reception, Derik the charming concierge, Christian in the restaurant and not forgetting Marta the room maid, whose care and attention to detail is truly unique. The only member of staff to remain aloof was the 'direzione' who was often referred to, but never seen. The setting is awesome on the edge of a cliff, just a short walk from Cefalu and there are panoramic views of the marina and glimpses of the Aeolian Islands on the horizon. The bedrooms are ranged along paths, steps and hills - bear this in mind if you're travelling with older people or anyone in a wheelchair. Our suite was one of the loveliest rooms I've ever stayed in, anywhere, with a huge balcony furnished with solid wood chairs, a great view, a wonderfully comfy bed and puffy pillows, endless supplies of fluffy white towels and great toiletries, as well as a power shower and jacuzzi. The sitting room has a TV, although it wasn't possible to watch anything but Italian TV - the internet in the room was pretty erratic, so if you want to watch films on your laptop, it's a non-starter. That said, the ever changing view of the marina was better than any TV. Attention to detail was amazing and I could happily live in that room. Breakfast is served in the hotel restaurant, which is located under giant umbrellas on the lawn and comprises a fabulous buffet. There is a wide choice of cooked breakfasts, fresh fruit, fresh cakes, bread, an orange juice machine, great coffee and cereals too. I would have preferred a buffet for the evening meal (as offered with half-board at some hotels) as the a la carte choice for the week was pretty limited - especially if you're a gluten-free vegan. We ate out, or brought food in, for the most part. So, what's the problem? There's a couple - on one side of the hotel is the sea and on the other is a high-speed train track. A train whistles past every hour but you do get used to this. The big problem are the functions e.g. the wedding receptions that are held most nights of the week as well as the Saturday when we were there, from mid afternoon into the night. The hotel's outside bar, most beautiful terraces and pontoon are closed off to hotel guests for these events so that the wedding guests have these areas exclusively. Our suite was directly below the main indoor function room and we had to endure a rather awful wedding band thumping out 60s tunes for over 4 hours on the Saturday afternoon. Not great when you're paying a lot of money for a suite. The wedding guests spill over into the areas where the hotel guests are allowed during the events, and become quite drunk and noisy. The view from our suite also became a car park when these events were going on. Whilst the hotel did give us back our money for the day of the 'really loud' wedding, I don't think it's right that the tranquility is ruined and the beautiful spaces are off-limits to paying guests whilst the hotel hosts these events. There's not a gym, which I'd usually expect in this calibre of hotel. You can use one at a neighbouring hotel but you have to get the shuttle bus, which isn't ideal. The pool area, inside bar, wild beach (breath-taking) and lobby are stunning and beautifully appointed. There are lots of great little places to escape to within the grounds and the landscaping is lovely. I really love this hotel and was sad to leave - please think about holding just one event a week rather than 5!
Great hotel , rooms , pool, beach , food , view loved everything. However Sicily airport is terrible, bags didn't make it to connection and had to wait 4 days to get bags and only really got them because of Derick the concierge. He yelled at the airport for 20 minutes until finally reaching a solution, and really only got them after he personally drove to train station to get them for us and then walked them to our room , 50 lbs each .... much thanks , you saved our honeymoon!!!
Fantastic stay in Cefalù! Le Calette is far away enough from the city center to feel like a proper resort and close enough (15-20 minute walk) to be able to easily experience the city. Daniele and Marta, two staff members of the hotel, made a lasting impression with my family and I. Daniele was our go-to for everything from bellhop to handyman. When our electronic keys didn't work, he helped us get into our room and change our keys; when my dad accidentally locked us out of the safe, Daniele fixed it. Additionally, Daniele helped bring our luggage from our car into the room and vice versa - always with a big smile on his face! Marta ensured our rooms were well-kept and in order daily. She was extremely friendly and trustworthy. Both Daniele and Marta were excellent and made us feel at home. Pros: + Friendly and helpful staff + Clean grounds, rooms, and amenities (e.g., pool, beach areas) + Complimentary water bottles by the beach + Quiet and relaxing atmosphere + Walking distance to city center + Delicious restaurant with a beautiful view I'll definitely be returning in the future. Grazie a tutti!
We had an amazing Mothers's day Weekend at Le Calette and enjoyed it so much immediately booked the following weekend for our son. Marilena and Vanessa at the reception were especially helpful with our room selection and advice on the town. The hotel has many areas to sit and enjoy the view but their secluded Wild Beach was our favorite spot - much of the time we had it to ourselves. The walk into town was relaxing - perhaps a bit more lighting on the edge of the property would be helpful for the night walks back. We look forward to returning soon.
