The property exceeded our expectations, it’s more of a hotel rather than a bed and breakfast. The room and property was excellent, the staff superb and the breakfast was delicious and plentiful. When we checked in the hostess Daniela took the opportunity to provide us with a map and highlighted key sites to visit and appropriate walking distance, this was extremely useful. We would highly recommend this location for exploring Palermo.

This property is in the heart of everything… we were the crazy Americans that rented a car a drove it to this property. We made it but extremely stressful and unless you are an experienced driver for very narrow alleyway and pedestrian all over the road I highly recommend not driving… fortunately there is a parking lot and we parked our car until we left the property. The stay was awesome you are located in the best for walking everywhere. The staff were amazing. Room was nice a few steps to climb but not an issue if you are use to steps. Great place to get and the market is fantastic. We enjoyed our visit and highly recommend…

Calm Hotel in the Chaos of the City

As we jostled our way through the chaotic Palermo food market under the blazing heat, we could not believe it when we opened the heavy wooden doors into the oasis of cool calm of the hotel. Daniella had fantastic customer service sharing us with us info on the hotel and then a printed map with an explanation of the layout of the city of Palermo. Our room in the attic was perfect and we loved the decor a combination of Tunisian and Italian, The hotel organised us a taxi for our airport transfer and as we had an early start a packed breakfast was delivered to the room

I would thoroughly recommend this B&B. The staff are amazing and couldn't do enough for you. Our room was lovely and the breakfast was 10 out 10. It would definitely stay here again. In fairness, we literally only slept there, and only for 1 night. Still, its in a rough neighborhood, we felt compelled to take a taxi home at yhe end of the evening and the room had NO windows. The common areas were pleasant enough. When we arrived, the greeting at the front desk was not particularly nice.

The hotel is extremely convenient to all the major attractions in Palermo. We also felt that the staff was especially friendly and helpful. Parking is available in a public square nearby which at first appeared to be somewhat risky, but we had no issues with it. The breakfast buffet was excellent.

Nice but falls far short of ideal

The best thing about the hotel is the enthusiasm and helpfulness of it's young staff. We stayed in early December and the weather was cold and with occasional rain. Although the entrance off the street is spacious and welcoming the large reception areas were unheated in spite of there being an open but unlit fire. The bedroom too was dark and chilly. Warmth...especially a lit fire in cold weather, and a towel rail to dry out wet clothing, better lighting, and a little more luxury such as fluffy towels, real soap, extra bedding for cold weather, and real Orange juice at breakfast would make this into a lovely central place to stay

Fabulous!

Gorgeous ancient bakery renovated into a fabulous B&B in the old part of Palermo within walking distance of all the must-see sights. Near the vibrant Ballaro market & some wonderful coffee & street food places. Welcoming, helpful & friendly staff who provided maps & verbal info without being asked. They also gave us much needed refreshment on arrival after a hot stuffy 4hr train journey from Messina. Great breakfasts, clean comfortable & quiet rooms with lots of character & a courtyard garden. This was my absolute favourite accomodation in 6wks of travel in Italy. Get a taxi there from the railway station as old Palermo is a labyrinth & it would be difficult to find this place on foot. Once you're there it's fine & easy to wander from & return to. Tip: barter the taxi down to €12 if you can. They start at €20!

We were welcomed by a very friendly staff, even though they had to wait for us since we arrived later than announced. The journey was very stressful but we felt that we could relax from the moment we stepped in. Spacious bright rooms. The garden is beautifully lush for your tasty breakfast. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. And our little son enjoyed the stay as much as we did.

Comfortable & Clean B&B L

Though our stay was rather short and we did not get to enjoy all the aspects of this B&B we were very impressed with the overall quality and comfort of the room. The location of the B&B is rather hidden away but easy enough to find with GPS and we found free parking right outside. Once you step inside the lobby its very peaceful and tranquil. We were promptly checked in by reception and shown to our room. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable and the only negative thing I can say is that the AC wasn't as cool as desired but other than that it was perfect. Unfortunately we had to depart before breakfast so we did not get to enjoy that or the lovely garden out back. Highly recommend for the property itself and we were recommended to a lovely restaurant around the corner called Al Fondaco Del Conte, which was a great meal! Hotel was within walking distance of all the main sights!

A boutique hotel and a warm welcome!

Il Giardino di Ballarò is a small boutique hotel located right in the center of the old, historic part of Palermo not more than a 10 min walk from most of the sights. It is a very cozy and modern accommodation, and has a lot of character. We felt very welcomed as soon as we walked in - the staff is very welcoming and friendly, offered us refreshments and then provided us with a lot of useful sightseeing and dinning tips. Nice breakfast that you can have inside or in the outdoor private garden. A lovely quiet place to stay in a busy city!
