The room was very basic. It was a good size as was the bathroom. It could have used another surface like a desk or table since there really wasn't any place to set your things. The room and bath were very clean. I had cold water in the shower both mornings but my husband had hot water. Our tour members said the same - the hot water was hit or miss. WiFi worked worked depending on where you were located. Breakfast was delicious. I ate a lot of cake in Sicily but this was one of the best. The rooftop terrace had stunning views of Palermo. We went back up in the evening for a drink and saw the sunset.

Our wonderful guide, Domenico Aronica, told us to be sure to visit this hotel's rooftop bar for a fabulous view of Palermo. He kept saying "111 Via Roma". The view is spectacular in the day and at night. We only had drinks, as the entire dining area was booked for a tour. It was Rick Steves and his SIcily tour, so we met him. Do not miss this experience.

Difficult to review this hotel: Pros: - good location on Via Roma, close to most attractions - wonderful view from the rooftop terrace - reasonable value for money - excellent staff (the girl on reception printed off my boarding passes and the man rang to reserve a table at a local restaurant) the chap who worked in the bar was also brilliant - they prepared a meal (even though the restaurant was only open for a group of tourists) on my first night, although it was very expensive Cons: - the bed in my room was the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in - the breakfast was average - there were instructions in the room for a safety deposit box even though there was no safety deposit box - the shower was the smallest shower I have ever seen in a hotel (I just about squeezed in and I'm not the largest person this side of Syracuse! - I asked for an ice bucket one night and was informed that they had none - I was handed the ice in a plastic bag......really!?

This was my second visit to the Ambasciatori and I cannot recommend it enough. It's near the train station, has first class rooms, an exceptional breakfast in a rooftop room, and is quite inexpensive. Don't miss it if you're in Palermo. A great bargain.

Two mins from train station and there's a fabulous roof terrace where you can have breakfast and evening drinks. Lovely rooms and really enjoyed the breakfast with cannoli. Room was large and bathroom really nice

The hotel is centrally located within walking distance to city tours. We used Domenico for a walking tour of Palermo who is a professional guide and you find his details at the hotel. Breakfast caters for all tastes. The staff is very nice and the rooms are large, tidy and clean. We loved our stay and really recommend this hotel if you are in Palermo.

Nice central location, helpful staff, elegant room with comfy bed. Only downside was that breakfast buffet was not adequately replenished. If you breakfast late the fruit salad and bacon will likely be gone.

Back of the hotel is noisy. Our second time back after being on tour was much quieter facing center of the building and bigger bathroom. Both rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff remembered us and were very friendly

Ended up here unexpectedly. staff were all extremely helpful, nothing was too much bother. room very nice, bed comfy, great shower. Roof terrace is fab. Would highly recommend and would stay there again.

Good hotel in a central location near the train station. Wonderful breakfasts, beautiful roof top garden with views of Palermo and harbor. Near restaurants, outdoor markets, shopping and night life. Local transportation is good. Food in Palermo is the best!
