Beautiful location and hotel
Very lush, green and conveniently located.
We easily found Chablis after a short walk from the ADO bus station. That made it convenient to catch a shuttle gorge ruins. It's in a wooded area that's good for birding.
This hotel was a good choice for many reasons. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast satisfying. The location right around the corner from ADO bus station and a big supermarket. I would definitely stay here again.
The hotel was much better than I imagined it would be for a small town like Palenque. Good AC - which is necessary there - , breakfast included was great, and refreshing pool for after a hot day at the ruins. The location is just across the street from the bus station and close to another cluster of nice hotels and restaurants - even a karaoke bar! Although not located in the town's center, it is just a 5 minute walk to get there.
I don´t know if this is the only hotel in the area where bugs come with the room, but I think it´s worth noting that this one did. By bugs I mean centipedes and other tiny crawlers that somehow find their way into your room in the dozens by the day. Bugs aside, I thought the hotel was pleasant. It´s in the touristy part of Palenque and about a 20-minute walk from the town´s center. The nearby restaurants definitely cater to tourists and as such are more expensive than the ones in town, but they certainly are more convenient and decorative. The rooms are clean and the showers have hot water, but it´s slightly concerning that the doors don´t come with a security lock. I guess the armed security guard is supposed to ensure that burglary is not an issue. Lastly, the air conditioner proved to be invaluable given the heat and humidity of the surrounding area.
